Both titles were released in 1987. Both titles are action-packed anime filled with violence, blood, gore and plenty of hellish demonic monsters. As well as similar animation and a similar vibe. They both deal with the main protagonist (Akira Fudo/Devilman and Amano Jaku) fighting other demons that are trying to destroy humanity. However, Urotsukidouji contains graphic scenes of rape and sex while Devilman doesn't. If you like one, you should enjoy the other.

Both Devilman OVA's are similiar in story line and presentation. Animation is a little different and Go Nagai's touch is missing from Guyver, but I found myself thinking how similiar they are as I watched the Guyver series.

Both titles are based on 1970's manga from Go Nagai. They both have a similar dark and gritty tone with lots of blood, gore and gratuitous nudity. As well as similar art, animation, and a similar vibe. The main protagonist in both Devilman and Shuten Douji are thrown into a life of darkness and must save humanity from demons. If you like one, you should enjoy the other.

Both series are from Go Nagai which display violent action while fighting against monsters and demons. Devilman guest stars in episode 7 of New Cutey Honey.

These anime are NOT for scaredy cats. These late 1980s OVAs from back then knew how to scare kids and adults alike—WAY more than today's anime series or OVAs. Both are still considered obscure cult classics among older anime fans!

Cool crossover starring characters from Cyborg 009 and Devilman. Some great action scenes for those who feel like they need more Devilman and is also a standalone story so if you've seen the OVAs you'll be fine! Be warned because as of now there are no subs available. (EDIT: There is now a sub and dub, however only on Netflix)

Shingeki no Kyojin pretty much takes the plot of Devilman and adds an Ultraman garnish. In either show, we have an invasion of a hostile race that was once dormant, which is fought by using a hybrid of mankind and the evil race in question. Both include generous amounts of gore, horror, and action. If you want a really high-budget anime with a beautiful artstyle, check out SnK. If you want something with a lower budget but with better writing and execution, watch the Devilman OVAs.

Hailing from the heyday of the "releasing the monster from within" blood n' guts action anime, both "Devilman: The Birth/Demon Bird" and "Guy: Double Target" (particularly Part 1) are thrilling, visceral and stylish trips through hell. While Guy: Double Target features several hardcore (with a gun?!) sex scenes, but they are not the only focus of the story. The real meat of the program comes from brutal mutating body horror blood moshing right out of the Devilman playbook. Bodies are crushed, erupt into chunks of fleshy mulch while our heroes struggle to maintain their humanity.

both are about devils and fallen angels. highschool dxd however has less gore and more ecchi than devilman.

Incredibly violent late 80's OVAs. The dubs are the best way to watch both, because characters swear every other line and carry tough Brooklyn accents, which really contributes to the overall mood.

The protagonist of Vampire Hunter D is a part-human, part-vampire man who hunts other vampires. The protagonist of Devilman is a part-human, part-demon man who hunts demons. From here, it is quite clear that both series share similar motifs, they're both action packed and filled with violence and gore. They're also made in the same period, and the art and animation styles are quite similar.

Guyver and Devilman are quite similar in plot and the themes they touch. Both anime feature a main protagonist that gains a special power, which turns them into a killing machine. However, they must fight against powerful monsters, turning into heroes of some sort. Both anime are made around the same period, so they have a similar type of art and animation, plus they are both quite violent.

Both focus on a teenage boy protagonist that gets possessed by a demon (Amon in Devilman and Byoudo in Battle Royal High School) and uses their powers to fight off powerful evil demons. Both titles were released in a similar time period (late 1980's - early 1990's). Both are action-packed anime with lots of blood, gore, and gratuitous nudity. Devilman is more serious and has a horror vibe to it while Battle Royal High School is campier and over the top. If you like one, you should enjoy the other.

Both titles have the protagonist that can transform into a demon monstrous form and uses their power to fight for good instead of evil. The SoulTaker has a design that looks pretty similar to Devilman. They both feature supernatural elements with a dark and gritty atmosphere. Both anime contain a lot of action and blood. If you enjoyed Devilman or looking for another demonic theme superhero, I recommend trying out The SoulTaker. If you enjoy The SoulTaker, feel free to give the Devilman OVAs a try.

Both contain their fair share of demon-possession, violence and gratuitous nudity. No solid plot, but plenty of action and gore.

Both are adaptations of some of the most influential action shounen manga, complete with bloody supernatural battles and the classic "90s anime OVA" look. Both also have kinda goofy English dubs.
