Town revitalization campaigns where Sakura uses normal means of travel and tourism to promote the rural setting whereas Locodol emphasises its use of "local idols" (hence Locodol) to promote the town. Both are fun shows to watch that don't have many serious moments, although Sakura does have a bit more compared to but not too much.

It's cute girls doing cute things. They both include places "in the country", Non Non Biyori more so. Locodol has a faster pace but is still fairly relaxed. They include light humor as well. In my opinion, if cute girls are your thing, both are worth it.

Kuma Miko and Locodol share a similar story arch focusing on local idols to help revitalize their small town/village trying to emphasize on the features of their village/town. Kuma Miko is much slower paced slice of life and has Machi as our main character who also suffers from crippling anxiety, whereas Locodol has high school girls who can be shy but do their best to try and help their town grain attraction from tourism and marketing.

Girls with no experience in entertainment come together to try and become popular idols for the welfare of their hometown. In Love Live, the girls bring attention to their local school, but in Locodol, it's their entire town that they're trying to bring attention to.

Both are comedies full of cute girls doing cute things. While in Futsuu no Joshikousei ga [Locodol] Yatte Mita they are local idols, in Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka they are working in a cafe. Both have similar, cute-styled animation.

Both are music comedies about school girls. Whole K-On is about a band, Futsuu no Joshikousei ga [Locodol] Yatte Mita is about idols. Both have animation done in cute way.

Both are slice-of-life shows about a group of high school girls. Kiniro Mosaic is about Japanese and British girls hanging out, and Locodol is about local idols who promote their community. Kiniro Mosaic has more comedy, though Locodol is also humorous at times. Both shows provide a laid back and warm feeling. There are some yuri undertones in both as well, though they are more prominent in Kiniro Mosaic. Both shows will have you smiling while you watch.

Both presenting it's idol culture and plotline in happy way with no hard drama on it. Although locodol didn't touch the "fan" or "wota" POV.

Both are slice-of-life shows with an emphasis on the countryside and friendly communities. Barakamon is about a young adult adapting to this new environment and discovering his love for the people he meets, while Locodol is about a group of high school girls who promote their town and interact with the locals. Both shows have a warm atmosphere and also some comedy. If you want to feel good and have a smile on your face, I'd definitely recommend these shows.

Both are slice-of-life shows about a group of girls. Yuru Yuri focuses on a club where the members mostly just hang out together, while Locodol focuses on local idols who promote their community. Both have funny moments, although this is more prominent in Yuru Yuri. Locodol is slightly more laid back because it does not have a hyperactive character like Kyouko. Both have some yuri undertones, though this is much more of a focus in Yuru Yuri. Neither show has much drama, and they rarely have a boring episode. Both shows provide a warm and enjoyable atmosphere and are worth a watch.

Although Wake Up, Girls is more about drama in the group, Locodol and WUG both concentrate on girls becoming an idol and working hard, pushing through their insecurities.

They are both about highschool girls trying to be local idols.

Both are very underrated, wholesome, and sweet idol anime that are based around small towns. Natsuiro Kiseki has a supernatural element while Locodol tends to be more comical.

Brought together by their local council, a group of amateur performers is tasked with trying to promote their town. These comfy cute girls series have lot of hijinks as the groups try to find their own identity. Locodol has more emphasis on promotion aspect, while Cheer Fruits is more about the performance itself.

When I first watched the Opening Song of Futsuu no Joshikousei it reminded me of Tamako Market, like Tamako-chan and Locodol they do anything for the place where they grew up.

When talking about "Idol", the large-scale Idol usually people referring it to words like "Nationally-famous", "often seen them on TV", etc. But what about the small-scale one? Like the Local/Region-Famous Idol? If you're interested for the answer, then this Anime should be your answer. The story is about a group of Female, Local-Famous and highschool-age Idols that walking through their day as both Highschooler Girls and Local Idol as their effort in trying to be Nationally-Famous Idol.
