Slime Taoshite 300-nen, Shiranai Uchi ni Level Max ni Nattemashita

In role-playing games, slimes are usually the easiest monster to kill, and because of that, they yield few experience points. But what would happen if you live long enough to keep defeating them for 300 years?

After many years of being a corporate slave, Azusa Aizawa abruptly passes away due to severe exhaustion. Seemingly headed for the afterlife, she meets a goddess who bestows her with immortality alongside a peaceful life in another world. There, Azusa enjoys her days tending to her farm, protecting the nearby village, and killing about 25 slimes per day—a routine that continues for at least three centuries.

However, this rather monotonous cycle begins to change when Azusa suddenly finds out that she has reached level 99—the maximum possible level—from slimes alone. Despite desperately trying to hide this fact in fear of ending her slow life, rumors of her strength spread nevertheless. Soon enough, various people throughout the continent, like the dragon Laika and the elf Halkara, start to appear at her doorstep—some seeking a battle, others asking for her assistance. Meeting friends and acquaintances who soon become family, Azusa finds she can live a life far better with others than when she was alone.

You know what? Why not? Let's make this review first before the 2nd season ends. From now on, I'm going to use the new format I did with the Koihime anime review. So, let's get started.

How did I find this?
I have told you guys in my previous review about ghosts in any story. I wanted to know how they handle them, because it's one of the most unique concepts of a story, where the ghost can change the story significantly by using the body of a human around them to tell the story.
So, yeah, I found this anime through YouTube, trying to find a new ... anime to watch. This anime popped up when I was searching for ghost possession in anime.

Appealing (Why did I get into the anime?)
The initial appeal was the ghost, Rosalie, but now, to be honest with you guys, I just want to watch Beelzebub.
Man, her voice is just a pure masterpiece. I can hear her all day long, and I can be in heaven... or hell if I really want to meet her in person. 🤣
Just going to shout it out now. Manami Numakura, woman, you are officially my third favorite female VA. Thanks for bringing Beelzebub's voice to life for this anime.

Platform
It used to be on Muse Asia, but I think the license has worn off for now. I hope they go back there soon because this is a very good way to show Japanese culture to the world. Share anime without any paywall and let them enjoy it in full any restrictions.
This anime is also available on Crunchyroll, Bahamut TV, and BiliBili.

The review;
Plot/Story
This has to be one of the weakest points... in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I actually love this show a tons, like more than it should be, especially because of Beel. But if you pass that point, there is no actual plot or story. I mean, I guess exploring the world is one of them, but even then, that story arc starts from season 2.
Asuza said it herself that she wants that slow-burn life because how much workload she had back in her world. So, I can respect the author making the story as boring as possible until something big happens. Which is... unironically... how the real world's lifestyle works...
Wow, that was deep, anyway.

Character
Should I? Should I glaze Beel even more? Should..... I......?
Naah, let's talk about the others.
I don't particularly have much to say about Azusa. She just mid-character, and she doesn't have any character development in the story, like at all. All she does is just be a lazy bum. Lol
Then there are side characters, like Laika, Falfa, Shalsha, Rosalie, Halkara, and many more. Most of the time, they also don't grow that much. I mean, they grow more as the story progresses, but not that much. It's like they move like a snail.
But that's the point of this anime, I feel like. It's just girls doing cute things, which is why there are a lot of people love it.

Animation
To be honest, it was okay. Not to bad and not amazing, it's your average animation. Which is why, I think, this anime got a lot of attention. Some time they went all in with animation and then sometime it's just... meh.

OST/SFX
Do I have to even say this? Yeah, I just give 2 thumbs up. Well, down guys, I like all the music... except the OP. I don't really like the OP that much, so I'm glad the 2nd season has a better opening song.

VA
Another 2 thumbs up from me.

Conclusion
The good;
I just want Beelzebub to do ASMR for me, that's my conclusion.
The bad;
I had a feeling people might like this anime, and I guess people have mixed feelings about it. Especially that the 2nd season was done entirely by a new studio.

Overall, I give 7.5/10

Mixed Feelings

If you had dome the same thing over and over again, you would get pretty good at it, and it would be rather uneventful, and that's what this show is it's just uneventful.

It does what it says on the tin, our heroine has been killing slimes and thru that maxed her stats, but not perhaps her understanding and use of magic, but who cares when you can destroy a boss level monster with just a punch. As she lives her quiet life more and more people, hearing of her prowess show up and while they disrupt her cozy life, they also bring change and ... comfort she grows to love.

This show is just fine, it's not bad, it's not good, it's just fine, you get what you see and that's just fine, but due to that that "safety" as it were it just comes off as boring, even the emotional moments, which there are very few, don't even pull at the heartstrings.

Animation is average, music is generic, characters are tropes that go past skin deep, the story is cozy, and it doesn't do anything new with it's genre.

However, it must have done something right to warrant a second season, which at the time of this writing I have not seen, I may come back and change my score for better if this season has any sort of pay off in the next, but for now, unless you just want a cozy anime, like a low level slime, swipe and move on

the only reason i watched this was the title because i like cheesy reincarnation animes where the protagonist is overpowered power but this was really boring i only finished it because i try to do that with all anime i watch but each time all i could think was “how many more episodes” it felt like i was only watching filler episodes there is no plot to it no goal no reason to watch the next episode and it is full of fan service and it wasn’t even good i was squeezing my eyes shut with cringe its a all women anime made by men
