This truly is dreadful show. My expectations never were high since Seven Deadly Sins is truly a super mediocre show. But oh man it was far worse than I expected. White fucking blood? Ah, yes finally the enemies cum after being killed. Of course the censoring is also horrible.
The animation sometimes feels like watching a PowerPoint slideshow. It feels like their budget is super low. They are not even trying to animate it properly. Why in the hell would they hire such incompetent people for this. The director and series compositioner is also bad at their job. Finally a show that rivals Fairy Tail.
Would I ever recommend this? Hell nah son. You should honestly just skip SDS fully.
Hm, it's kinda unfair since it's only a few episodes in, but I'm just gonna say that if you come from SDS seasons 1-2 expecting beautiful graphics, voice acting, sound design, and animation: don't expect much. I'm really disappointed by Studio Deen. They did NOT do justice to this arc of the story. As a manga reader who's fully caught up to date the with the manga, I had high hopes for the anime adaptation! But...although the actual tracks are still amazing (Hiroyuki Sawano, ofc), the way they're implemented and paired with scenes is...not so amazing. The fight choreography and animation? Bland, and it seems
like the FPS was completely halved. The voice acting is nearly robotic and sounds out of place, like when you see a terrible CGI scene in a normally-2D-animated anime.
Story: The plot isn't that bad. It stills lines up more or less with the manga.
Sound: Great tracks; not so great use of them. Didn't do Hiroyuki Sawano any justice.
Voice Acting: Extremely disappointed.
Art/Animation: Not the worst it could be, but not very impressive..
Overall: Maybe a 6 or 7. Main reason I enjoyed the first two seasons wasn't just because of the plot, but how the fights were choreographed and tracks were used. It just seems really chunky and rough in this season.
Ok, so I actually really liked this series, despite my rating being low.
First of all, my big thing about this series is that I really dont go into it because of the plot. Its the pure awesomeness of the characters that I just want more and more of. Meliodas is everything a character aspires to be, and Ban is his darker counterpart. King is incredibly powerful, yet struggles with internal issues of relationships and Diane, Merlin and Escanor are pretty flat tho. We dont really come to see em. Escanor is awesome, but's still relatively flat.
People watching this only care about Meliodas, Ban, King
and maybe Diane because their pure prowess and internal struggles are so captivating. Problem is, the story so far has focused WAYYY too much on King and Diane. King is great in the presence of the other sins, but in this really long subplot, he is with only Diane, while meeting other versions of the sins. basically, he talks with technically the same characters, but because of the nature of the plot, the dynamic character relationships are just GONE. Diane is also a really bad character to carry a plot like this. She was good when talking about her backstory in relation to King, but since this is something completely different, that whole comparability is gone.
So far this season is just trying to develop Diane and King. King has been barely developed, because his previous development is just massive compared to what this arc has offered us so far. And so far, Diane has just had nothing develop her. The other thing its trying to do is develop some villains and by doing so, the overall lore of the world. Lorebuilding is what i would call magnificent. The lore is literally carrying the series at this point, with star characters like Meliodas and Ban offscreen, and the other development being so shallow. And because the lore is so good, the development for the villains is really solid. Its not as deep as I would have hoped, despite how doing that would be really easy. The plot elements to make it deep is there, for some reason, the story just doesnt pull through and make it deep. Still, compared to the zero development of these specific villains previously, what weve gotten here can be considered groundbreaking.
Talking about the whole series, including other seasons, I know that the scale of the plot is epic, with the wars and betrayals beating me up so bad! Is was AWESOME. Now, however. The subplots offer some of this, but not nearly as much as before. With more lore being made and reveals being shown, its totally good, just nowhere near the first series with its large scale plot that the main characters are directly affecting.
The story is dope, but is only AWESOME when combined with characters. The Art was honestly kinda trash. Lots of scenes where the characters are just looking in a direction, even if they're literally the focal point of a close up shot, looks sooooo bad. Like they dont have a concept of scale, or they have nothing to base the look on. It's like they're changing every episode. And the sound was fine. The characters were ok, half of them being great, the other half useless, with the current main characters just getting too little development, but not that bad.
Personally I love an epic journey of powerful beings reclaiming the world from evil, and so I enjoyed this as one of my fav animes of all time. But overall, it does lack in character and plot at some point. The whole series is incredible, this current season's the only one that makes me feel a bit iffy.
Ohh no what have Studio Deen done! They ruined our favourite anime series Nanatsu No Taizai! Look at the art and the animation, arghhh! Same frame that last for 30 sec, repeated the same scene again and again! I know they don't have enough time to make this anime good, but facts is facts, it's bad.
Wtf man! Story was bad in the first episode, it's so extra and useless, not even entertaining or hyped. The others were okay I guess. It's still the first 6 eps we never know.
Yup, the art and animation. Pathetic. Feel sorry
for them. Pause and look at Meliodas face when he full counter at he first episode. Look at episode 2 when Gloxinia and Drole were talking, they had the same frame for like 30sec. Look at Diane and King dancing in the Fairy King forest, pause and look at the faries who were dancing. Arghh. The first episode when Ban and Meliodas were fighting, they flew like SPRITES!! OMFG! I can do that in my computer too! And the most important one, CENSORED BLOOD. Why tf Studio Seen wanted to censor it! It's the same audience from Season 1 and 2! Ohh, I know why! Studio Seen loves milk. Ohh and I hate the colour on Gloxinia's wing, argghh. Last but not least, T-POSING EVERYONE! The OP is so goddamnn bad! I thought they will be a fighting scene in the OP, but no? Omfg this is so bad.
UVERworld made some great music and ending Regeneration is decent I guess?? Rob the Frontier is some god tier music, already top 20 ops in my list. But, the voice acting is a little disappointing for me.
Still can't judge them yet cuz it's still episode 6. But currently its bad, for me at least. Cuz is just focusing on Diane and King, and they never really develop, so yeah.
I'm a 7DS/NNT fan and obviously I enjoy it, but this is not that enjoyable than the manga. I'm just waiting that Escanor vs Meliodas won't ruined in the near future. It's watchable but not recommendable. I'm okay with watching this but pls Studio Deen what have you done! I almost dropped in episode 5 cause of the art.
I can give it lower, but as a 7DS and I always overate anime so 5 is a great choice for me. And the current 6.80+ rating is deserved! Censored blood, funny faces, bad animation, T-Posing and more
This is my first review of all time and I will update the review after this anime is completed.
