Nanatsu no Taizai: Kamigami no Gekirin

Writing this review just because the rating of this anime has surprised me a lot.Most of the people rated it very low from the very start just because of the animation. Animation of course is important but it is not everything as long as I can make out whats happening and it is clear I am okay with it. Additonally, the animation wasn't even that bad it slowly got better although the while blood was retarded.Rating an anime solely on animation is very stupid.Lets get into my honest review now.

Story 10:The plot of Nanatsu No Taizi is easily a 10 without even thinking about it ... the way the writer reveals and creates new mysteries at the same time is insane.He also connects all the plot points perfectly this season.Everything makes sense and you get surprised , and shook from the secrets revealed.

Art 6:As I said was okay still not berserk level.Had some cgi but for the most part it wasn't that bad specially after the beginning.

Sound 8:Now the soundtracks in Nanatsu No Taizi are always amazing from emotional ones , to the exciting fight osts.They are used frequently throughout this season with new ones created for important moments.

Character 9:Character in Nanatsu No Taizi is a very strong point each character is built and progresses very nicely power and character wise.Each representing a sin carries out their role perfectly in the story.

Enjoyment 9:Enjoyed this season a lot even though I had read the manga I was wishing that I didn't read the manga so I could experience it truly.

Overall : Easily an 8 with good art I would've made it a 9 it will still never reach the 10 mark because an anime has to be truly perfect to get a 10.The ending of this season was not it ending in the middle of an Arc is just not smart to do.There were better endings the last episode felt like a normal episode and not a finale.If you wont finish the arc dont start it or atleast put a better ending.

I really like the fact that the color of the blood is white, it's the most important point of any anime (jk).

The character developpment is very cool. Perfect for gowther, but a bit too much for Diane and King until now. Though this was a smart way to show the prequel of the story with the war 3000 years ago.

I really like the story developpment of the past that gives us more information, character relationship explanation and more.

I don't understand the extremely low ranking for this season. The animation seem similar to the previous seasons to me. Though I don't give much importance to the ... animation and am more focused on the plot, this could explain why I don't see big differences between the different seasons.

I see many reviews giving crazy low scores, and this manily seems to stem from some issue with the animation. Now, I'm not blind, the animation in this season was worse than that in the previous 3, without a doubt. However, I dont see this as a show killer, in fact far from it. The character development here was on another level, so many seemingly 2D characters suddenly appearing, and without any spoilers, so incredibling meaningfull. There are moments of extreme sadness, even for characters who last season you wouldnt have felt anything for. The story suddenly came alive, revealing mysterys that seemed to ... have been forgotten about seasons ago. This is the best season of Nanatsu No Taizai, and if you cant look past a few bad frames of animation to see that you need to find a far more simple show to watch.

I will type a review on the whole anime, not only the last season.

Story - 8/10 - The anime is really good and I liked the whole principle. Each of the main characters got their "ending" which was more than less satisfying. The whole plot ends and we can say it is at the end and "everything happened as it should". It is really a good anime and the kind of story that is continuing was good. Fighting anime, drama, comedy and romance at the same time? Why not.

Art - 9/10 - The art is really nice, fighting scenes are good. I dunno why people ... are hating it.

Sound - 9/10 - Very nice and pleasant. Nothing to say.

Character - 10/10 - Each character has a very good personality and owns a complex background story. So I'm absolutely fine about them.

Enjoyment - 9/10 - The ending ruined it a bit for me, but everything else was really good and it was nice. I don't like fighting animes tho seems like this one is an exception.

Before I say anything, I must address the far and away number one problem that's sure to hit you in the face like a freight train from the first minute of S4's first episode: the censorship. For whatever reason, be it Deen's decision or the network's, the first cour of S4 features some pretty distasteful censorship. Don't bother trying to scour the internet for a secret uncensored Blu-ray version. There isn't one.

What is censored and how? The violence is censored in two ways. First, occasionally, if there's gore, the gory element will simply be blacked out. There is a scene where Ban uses his Snatch ... ability to steal an opponent's heart and crush it in his hand. You are, however, only able to tell that what he's holding in his hand is a heart by knowing Ban's ability and having seen him do it before, and perhaps the shape of the object. The object in his hand is otherwise completely blacked out. Fortunately, this kind of censorship only comes into play a handful of times.

Unfortunately, the other censorship technique is a lot more disgusting and absolutely permeates the show - sperm blood. You may think I'm being cute calling it that, but I'm not. It's exactly what it looks like. It literally looks like cum. There's one scene where the one dude gets punched in the gut and coughs up a river of blood. I swear to Cthulhu, it looked exactly like a hentai chick coughing up semen - exactly! What's even weirder, not all blood is censored. There are scenes where red blood is literally raining out of the sky that are left as such, presumably because it would have taken too much of an effort to edit, but when someone gets a papercut, no, no, no, we can't have that. As far as I was able to understand the censors' logic, if someone was already covered in blood, they didn't censor it. It was left properly red. But any active bleeding or blood splatters were colored white, so you effectively have scenes where someone's chin is already dripping in red blood, but then they cough up white semen. I mean... talk about unintended consequences. The attempt to soften up the presumably disturbing aspects of the show ends up making it genuinely sickening to look at.

Like I said, I don't know if this was Deen's decision or the network's, but I see this censorship technique often employed in the Chinese versions of anime, they recolor all the blood to be white for some reason. I remember seeing a censored version of the final episode of School Days a long time ago. The blood there was colored black. It still looked weird, make no mistake, but for fuck's sake, at least it didn't look like literal sperm. Was the network trying to suck up to their Chinese overlords to get some extra shekels from the Ching Chong market? I don't know. The fandom at large doesn't seem to know, either. All I've been able to find after a cursory search is speculation.

Be that as it may, the point is that it makes for a frustrating viewing experience and I was tempted to drop the show until I could find an uncensored version. I gave up and gritted my teeth when I found out there isn't an uncen version, but suffice it to say I wasn't a happy camper. It is also worth noting that the censoring seemed to be at its worst in the very first episode. It mellows out somewhat after that.

Alas, whoever was behind the censorship seemed to finally give up at the end of the first cour, so starting with episode 13 of Imperial Wrath of the Gods, you have nothing of the sort to worry about anymore. To which, thankful as though I am for it being gone, I'm left to wonder... what the fuck was even the point of it? It's not like this is a new show. It already had 3 seasons' worth of blood and gore broadcast on TV. Why decide to hide stuff now? We suddenly decided that the viewers' innocence is too precious after already tainting it for over 50 episodes? Why, when you're starting out at a disadvantage as an unpopular studio taking up a popular project, would you needlessly antagonize your audience like this? Only to drop it later? Why was the censorship even discontinued? Because of backlash from fans? Or because the Chinese overlords were unimpressed?

Without a doubt, the biggest loser in this whole mess is the studio. As you may have gathered from what I've said so far, studio Deen has taken over the production of the franchise in season 4 and 5. To put it kindly, Deen doesn't have the best reputation. They're infamous as the studio who produced the abomination that was the original 2006 Fate/stay night TV series. Their other work is also unimpressive at best. If they were taking over a project such as this, especially given their public perception, you would think they would want to make a flamboyant statement right out of the gate to gain the audience's trust that the show is in good hands and that they'll do it justice. Well, they sure made a statement, but I'm not sure it's the one they wanted to make or should have made.

Whether you're willing to put up with it for one cour is up to your investment in the franchise so far and hopefully what I'm about to say. In the show's defense, the censorship isn't so bothersome that it made my experience miserable. The way I thought about it, if I can get used to the Viz Media translation of the One Piece manga calling Zoro Zolo, I can get used to this. Lo, I could.

So, how did Deen actually handle the show? I was initially so fucked off by the censorship, that it made the difference in quality only feel all the more pronounced. For that reason, I originally planned to limit this essay to a single sentence: "It looks like ass." Having now finished the entire show, I can say that judgement was a tad too harsh. There is an inarguable dip in quality, but all in all, they did a decent job of it. T7DS effectively looks and feels mostly the same. I firmly believe that an untrained eye, provided ignorance of the change in studios, would not be able to tell the difference.

That said, differences exist. Though they did a fine job of keeping the anime's visual identity intact, a lot of people complained about the fact that they changed the way Melodias' face looked. Truth be told, if you compare them, he looks somehow dumber and more childish in Deen's version - something more of a blank expression on him. It's certainly a bizarre decision, to say the least, to fuck around with the design of the literal protagonist of all characters. The difference is not significant, however, and I don't know if they slowly changed it back, or I just got used to it, but I stopped noticing it altogether after a while.

Perhaps the greatest loss, though, is the action sakuga. It's been years since I watched S1, and yet, to this day, I still remember the sakuga that was Gilthunder's lightning attack combined with Meliodas' against Hendrikson. It holds up as one of the most hype action scenes there are. Contrary to that, for the entirety of the Imperial Wrath of the Gods and Dragon's Judgement TV shows and the Cursed By Light movie, there wasn't even a single sakuga scene I felt presented enough of a visual spectacle that I wanted to see it again. There were some Escanor scenes I wanted to rewatch, sure, but that's because of the character, not the animation.

All in all, the animation and production in general is pretty not great, but it's decent enough to not be insulting to the content that came before. Yes, I know, we've all seen the one screenshot of Meliodas lying on the bed, but trust me. It's not that bad. Say what you will about Deen. Yes, they may not be Madhouse or Bones, but the one thing they deserve to be acknowledged for is the fact that they're prepared to pick up franchises other studios are no longer willing to continue and finish them. Yeah, they won't make a Fate/Zero or Violet Evergarden any time soon, but they're willing to pick up that franchise you love that Ufotable or KyoAni dropped and churn out a dozen seasons of it and give you closure at a level of quality that's sufficient to not be offensive to your emotional investment. They basically did just about as good a job here as 8bit did with S2 of The Irregular at Magic High School when they took over from Madhouse. In short - good enough!

The one thing I want to sincerely praise Deen for is the fact that they kept Hiroyuki Sawano-sensei on board for the OST. I don't know if it's usually for copyright reasons, too broke or too cheap to buy the rights, or ego reasons, they actively want to reject the franchise's previous identity and make their own thing, but I've seen so many studios take over the productions of sequels from other studios and then completely abandon the original OSTs. The final season of Sengoku Basara, for example, comes to mind. There's no need to worry about that here. You'll still hear Hiroyuki-sensei's epic soundtracks you've come to love from the previous seasons. The only detraction is that Deen is perhaps less willing to use them than A-1. In all fairness, I felt A-1 was a bit too cavalier with their use. During A-1's tenure, literally everything the cast did, no matter how mundane, was accompanied by epic orchestral music every 5 fucking minutes. It got to feel cynical after a while. I would suggest that the sweet spot exists somewhere between A-1's liberal and Deen's conservative approaches.

As for the story, what can I say? No matter how much I may trash talk the show and all manner of aspects of it, at the end of the day, I can't lie. T7DS' narrative still managed to draw me in and hold my attention. In spite of the sperm blood censorship, the ass animation, the too-discreet use of the OST, I was still fully invested and looking forward to see more. I think I watched the entirety of Imperial Wrath of the Gods and 70% of Dragon's Judgement in one day.

Pretty much everything that I said in my previous essay about the first 3 seasons still holds true. If I had anything to add or correct, for one thing, it would be the fact that, in time, what I said about the interpersonal connections of the cast gets rectified to a reasonably satisfying degree. You get to see the Sins interact and develop independent relationships with each other to the point where they become decently believable as an actual team, rather than just a bunch of randos following one dude.

On the other hand, what I said about the narrative's longevity proved itself to be gospel. Dragon's Judgement is the final season of the anime. There's is no sequel coming. The story is over. The entirety of Imperial Wrath of the Gods and the first cour of Dragon's Judgement are part of the same larger story arc or saga, whatever you want to call it, that starts in Revival of the Commandments. In fact, you could even go so far as to say it started in Signs of Holy War. It doesn't turn into a long running story of always bigger, better things and progressively escalating obstacles, because it's structurally not set up for that. It sets up a clear goal, it pulls the trigger in Signs of Holy War and doesn't stop until that goal is reached, for better or worse, with no detours or side quests. The first season is its own arc, the kingdom invasion arc, as it's called, but after that, season 2, season 3, season 4, and the first half of season 5 are all part of a single expansive, continuous story arc.

On a not completely unrelated sidenote, you can lay to rest any apprehensions you might have had about the numerically represented power level system that gets introduced in Revival of the Commandments. I was worried it might turn into some Dragon Ball Z ridiculously escalating clown fiesta, but it didn't. We started with power levels in the thousands and tens of thousands. We end with the highest power level explicitly mentioned being little north of 200k. No million, billion, trillion bullshit, so relax on that point. It's still pretty fucking dumb with no redeeming qualities and I hate it for all the reasons I generally hate numerically represented power levels, but at least it limits itself to being merely pointless, rather than outright offensive like in DBZ.

That being said, I mentioned that only the first cour of Dragon's Judgement is part of that saga. That's not technically true. Episodes 13-20 of S5 are still technically part of the same saga, but there is a reason I'm writing the 2nd cour off wholesale. T7DS manga has roughly 350 chapters. In contrast to that, the anime only has a total of about 100 episodes. I did some Google-Fu to find answers about differences between the anime and the manga, and though I've found people detailing various differences, all of the articles and Reddit posts entertaining the matter were dated years ago, and were mostly discussing differences from the kingdom invasion arc. I haven't been able to find any recent information to substantiate my theory that the ending was significantly rushed as compared to the manga. My hypothesis is that most fans got turned off by Deen's performance and dropped the show, so there were no more mangaheads left who cared enough to analyze differences that late into the anime.

Why would I believe it was rushed in the first place, you ask? That's because in the 2nd cour of S5, the writing just falls off a cliff. The last time I remember feeling this way was when I watched Parasyte and the series just went completely and irretrievably off the rails after the city hall event. The previous saga to do with the Commandments took around a total of over 60 episodes to flesh out and conclude properly, and even there I felt some things were rushed and that the Sins were plunged into conflicts with opponents they weren't quite ready to face yet, which subtracted from the prestige of said opponents, but S5's 2nd cour is just laughable. It goes through content twice as dense in 10% of the time. Know how people joke that in JRPGs you go from collecting sheep fur or whatever in chapter 1 to killing God in chapter 100? Well, it felt just like that here, except the jump happens almost overnight. It felt extremely jarring and made it a challenge to stay invested and care.

The last 4 episodes in particular introduce several new twists that just served to make me roll my eyes and an entirely new power system and conceptual universe that is so poorly explained, presented, and resolved, it just felt like badly written fanfiction. It gave me the impression of a major arc that probably spanned 100 chapters in the manga, and was turned into a 4-episode Cliff's Notes version in the anime. Not saying I know that to be the case, just that it felt that way.

The one thing I can say in T7DS' defense with no trace of reservation whatsoever, is that I respect that it's a shounen battle story that is unafraid to have its characters be romantically involved with one another at moments other than the literal end of the story à la Bleach, Naruto, Tokyo Ghoul, Yuu Yuu Hakusho, Fairy Tail, Food Wars!, Katekyo Hitman Reborn!, Highschool of the Dead, and so, so, so many others. Yeah, it's all fine and dandy that you find out that Naruto and Hinata or Ichigo and Inoue hooked up after the end of the series, but for all the hundreds of episodes that either series boasts, you never get to see them be a couple. T7DS breaks this tradition without much hesitation and establishes several OTPs during its run. Seeing characters you ship actively reciprocate each other's feelings and hook up during the story was extremely satisfying.

I think that the reason behind having no overt romance in shounen is the thinking that the main audience, young boys who are a tad more on the socially inept side (because let's not kid ourselves, it's not the popular Chads who spend their time watching anime and reading manga), are extremely shy when it comes to pair bonding and don't confess to the girls they like, so if their heroes do the same, they will be able to relate to them and feel better about themselves. While I understand the basic idea, I disagree that what people want is to relate to someone who is exactly like them. The entire point of the fantasy genre is to see something better, cooler, more fantastic than one's self - something aspirational, something to strive towards! It is my contention that most people in the anime industry underestimate the degree to which their audience, even their young male audience, perhaps particularly their young male audience, craves fulfilled romance. There's a reason Kirito and Asuna have become one of the most beloved OTPs of all time.

In addition, no matter how idiotic I thought the narrative in the 2nd cour of Dragon's Judgement was, something happens in there that had me ugly crying like bitch. The set-up was all wrong. Everything that went into creating that moment was completely busted. It had no right to be as emotional as it was. And yet, it still made me cry harder than I remember crying in literally a year.

Still, credit where credit is due, the ending goes to great lengths to give the viewer closure on several threads, which I appreciated greatly. It's something a lot of series avoid for some reason and prefer to go with the "leave it up to the audience's imagination" approach. Fuck that noise. To this day, I'm still in disbelief that you never get to see Naruto become Hokage in the actual show, and instead in an irrelevant special 10-minute miniepisode released much later.

To make a long story short, if you liked the first 3 seasons of T7DS and got invested in the story and characters and feel like you can stomach some disgusting censorship (literally, I'm serious, I cannot overstate how much it looks like sperm) for 12 episodes, you'll have a great time with the 4th and 5th season of the franchise.

P.P.S.: Dragon's Judgement has nothing to do with any dragon, really. It's a mistranslation. Funnu means anger, rage, fury, wrath. I guess the translators didn't want another season title to contain the word wrath? So instead of going for a synonym, they went for a different word entirely? I suppose dragon and wrath may be interchangeable if it were in reference to Meliodas personally, seen as he's the Dragon's Sin of Wrath, but that's a misapprehension. The "Judgement", as it were, is someone else's. Meliodas is not the one doing the judging. This feels kind of like when people thought the last samurai in The Last Samurai movie was Tom Cruise's character, Nathan Algren. It's like, no.

I'm just disappointed. Bruh

This season the plot so far is the best out of three seasons for me.

I recommend watching for the plot and please don't expect much from animation

When I heard about the 3rd season of Nanatsu no Taizai, I came in with low expectations due to the overwhelming comments about the art. However, the series had so much more to offer that was neglected. This is usually the case for franchises changing studios. Negative feedback is often exaggerated because it's not what the audience is used to, such as One Punch Man S2, Dagashi Kashi S2, Dragon Ball Kai, and Sailor Moon Crystal.

Story
The story follows a linear progression. Unlike season 2, no one randomly decides to run away, so the plot doesn't take any soap opera detours. This makes the story balanced ... by giving each member their own moment to shine instead of having a select few steal the spotlight. Throughout the process, I felt like I could follow everything really well because they all connected to each other with minimal cliches. Every moment was building up to the next.

Art
As everyone already knows, the art is lackluster compared to the previous seasons. However, this is most prevalent in the first few episodes and the action scenes. Compared to A-1, Studio Deen isn't known for their action series, so the fight scenes are pretty generic. However, the white blood and censoring was only in the first few episodes and was back to normal later. If you're someone that pays close attention to every single frame, you may notice low quality in the background like any week by week shounen, but I personally only caught these when I paused at random times.

Sound
The OST was absolutely phenomenal. Hiroyuki Sawano continues to please the audience with songs that fit the mood of each scene.
Seiyuus are the same as the previous season and got the job done well. In particular, Meliodas's Commandment voice gave off the perfect vibe of an all powerful evil leader with no mercy (spoiler stops here).
The OP and ED were fine. Personally, I only listened to the second OP each time.

Character
The character development was exceptional. King and Diane, who were often on the sidelines compared to Meliodas or Ban, were able to learn about the politics of the Holy War and the mistakes of their own respective clans.
In contrast to season 2 where he just ran around thinking about how to cuck everyone, Gowther's personality is developed, explaining why he acted the way he did and attempts to redeem himself instead of everyone simply forgiving him with the power of friendship.
Lastly, Meliodas and Elizabeth's relationship was revealed to be more than just a forced relationship between the lead male and female; this further emphasized Meliodas's humanity and made Elizabeth more than just a damsel in distress as previous seasons portrayed. The groping and fanservice was minimal (thank god).
As a bonus, Hawk was less annoying this season.

Overall
Don't let the low score fool you-99% of criticism is due to art that wasn't actually that bad. The superior world building, relationship development, and overall story telling made this season very enjoyable for me. I would recommend it to anyone who is already invested in the franchise. If you had doubts about the direction of the story in previous seasons, give this one a shot because you may find that it progresses the plot in a more reasonable manner.

Ok, if you love this series you will be sad to watch it in this state but since you.. well love it you will continue to watch it. It's passable, animation isn't nearly as good as before which really saddens me. When they have such intersting arc and generally anime and they animate it like this.. It's really sad. Generally this isnt only anime like that as a lot of times second/third season makes art worse. Like, art and how characters look usually is fine but there isn't single fighting scene or to be honest any scene where someone is moving that is animated good. ... They never show any like continued fight and it's always one hit and they stop. Also faces of characters can get distorted a lot of times even in some scenes that are 100% stationary which is not good at all.

Conclusion is, if you like this series you will watch it regardless and both enjoy that it exists and hate it because it could have been done better and brought you more enjoyment.

As a manga reader I know for a fact that the story in this arc/season isLIT!!!
But unfortunatly the new season is garbage in most aspects
1-Story: 9 the story in this season is great and it supposed to reach its climax wich will hopfully be portrayed decently
2-Art: 3 I think I'll just skip this part cuz you all know how bad it is
3-Sound: 6 It was decent and one of the few things I liked about this season but of course it's still below the other seasons

4-Characters: 8 the newly added characters have unique personalities like Ludociel the leader of the 4 archangels which is filled with hatred and his only goal is the utter destruction of the demon race,and also there is Chandra wich loves his disciple Meliodas and kinda makes me laugh with some of his actions but when it comes to fighting he is a ruthless bastard
Character development was pretty amazing with gowther and Spoiler Ban but what I really liked was Diane X King finally getting together
5-Enjoyement:5 I got really dessapointed with this one so I didn't get to enjoy it and the only reason I gave it a 5 because NNT is in my top 5,otherwise it would have gotten a 3
OVERALL as a manga reader I know for a fact that the story in this arc/season is LIT!!!
But unfortunatly the new season is garbage in most aspects so it gets a 7 because as mentioned before I love NNT but if I excluded that it would get a 5.5 at best

I started watching it in mind that it was gonna be really because of the bad reviews.

To be totally honest I really don't get why there is some much hate. I really enjoyed it! There was a lot of action and we learned a lot of things on pretty every characters!!

I personaly think that this is the best season of the whole serie.

The first epiosed were really so-so in my opinion but once you get to episode 8 i think, it gets really good !

I think that anyone who hasn't watc it yet due to the bad reviews should really git it a shot. ... Thats what I did after a freind of mine told me it was good and I'm glad I did it!

Wow, before I wrote this review I just took a glance at the ratings for this season. Damn, people hate it apparently.
To me? Honestly, it's about the same quality as the previous two seasons content wise. It really depends on how you look at things.
This will be a quick review will be about all three seasons.

Nanatsu no Taizai isn't exactly the best in any department, whether it be fight scenes, story, or characters. That being said, none of them are terrible.

Sure, it follows the formula: bad guys appear-->beat up good guys--->good guys power up--->bad guys power up or more bad guys appear

Not exactly innovative nor ... creative, but hey, it's whatever. The story is is pretty bad if you look at it overall. People change sides for seemingly random motivations that are spurred up by the story, new characters appear to balance the good/bad guys out, characters do not die unless the author decides so (as in plot armor exists for characters that the author wants alive). Also, there is absolutely no strategy or logic involved in the enemy and the main characters. Characters put themselves at a humongous disadvantage one way or the other by being separated geographically, so essentially a lot of deaths that occur or defeats that occur is merely because a character isn't with their comrades.
But hey, the individual arcs are all pretty good. The thing about nanatsu no taizai is that the cast of characters are already pretty strong. Most of the time, the power ups they get is recovering their old powers, and most of the time, you get to know their pasts better/motivations. Honestly, the characters, as a result, are fleshed out much more than you would expect, since you get to know their pasts pretty extensively. Most of them, anyway. However, it also makes the power balancing of the show a train wreck. A character may just become one of the most powerful after being irrelevant because they got a powerup. The other individual story arcs that aren't looking at a character's past can also stand on their own. By themselves, they make sense and aren't bad. In the grand scheme of things, they kind of don't mix at all. So, story is very confusing, filled with plot holes, and contains tons of plot armor for certain characters. The merit comes with how well made the characters become and how much you get to know them, as well as how the story arcs are entertaining when you look at them separately.
The last thing I want to talk about in terms of the story is definitely the pacing and mood. In the beginning of the anime, the story is a lot more comedic, slapstick, fanservicey, and lighthearted. The comedy was alright, but the fanservice was pretty cringy, and there was a whole lot of it, to be honest. It then transitions to a very serious storyline with little to no fanservice (thank god) and a lot less comedy. I think that's why people are rating the second and third season badly, but honestly, the first season isn't exactly a masterpiece either. All three seasons have their own problems. It's up to you to decide whether or not you decide to stick with the show. To me, all three seasons have their own charm, so I stuck with it.

Let's talk about animation now. Fight scenes aren't that amazing. There are a very select few scenes that are choreographed and animated very well, but most of them are just average. I can't complain though. A lot of fighting takes place and the scenes aren't bad. The fact that there is almost no terrible CGI used is also a huge plus to me. Nanatsu no taizai actually animates scenes that other anime would probably just CGI out. Season 3 having no blood is kind of terrible though.


Overall, Nanatsu no Taizai is kind of a dime in a dozen as far as shounen shows go. However, I personally enjoyed the story arcs and fleshed out characters enough to ignore all the glaring flaws and so, I rate it a 7/10--definitely a much higher score than I would objectively rate it.

This season was great. The animation wasn't even as bad as people said it would be. It had a great storyline, and we got to see the backstory of everyone and how things got to be the way they are. It was very enjoyable. The people rating it a 1 are trolling. It is not even close to a 1. There were many scenes where their faces were clear and the animation was fine. Every episode had me wanting more. I loved this season and can't wait for more!

seven deadly sins the wrath of the gods had an amazing story as you would expect of this franchise however they manged to mess one of the KEY fights...

why is blood white is what you will keep thinking when you start with the series itll keep nagging you and you wont be able to fully appreciate the story since that thought keeps bothering

even after you are able to get through the fact that the blood is white they insulted you with the most anticipated fight between escanor and meliodas being made in basically ms paint

the animation does get a bit better but after the disappointment of the key fight you cant forgive even the mediocre animation that happens later on .


if you want a story rich environment and can turn a blind eye to horrible animation and the bizzare whit blood stuff this may just be good but still does not hold a candle to the previous two seasons

First of let me say I get the bad reviews.
I get it, they fucked up. The white blood in the first episodes is just abysmal, there's no going around that. Frankly, it looks worse than blood because it looks like another bodily fluid, freely pouring from all parts of the body. It's not good, it's really bad.

They also messed up a fight, which could of been a highlight but instead became very forgettable.

Other then that, let me just say that this season delivers on everything else. It's a much better season then the rating suggests, and seeing as they fixed their issues as the show ... progressed, the next season is going to be a lot better in terms of art.

I rate it a 8/10 but I get why a lot of people would rate it lower, I love seven deadly sins, and this was by far the weakest season but, it's by no means a 5-6 rating in my book, a solid 8. Wish I could of given it a 9 or even a 10, but yeah.

Hi, to the one's who are reading this. If you are wondering what is this all about, well, it's a small (atleast I try to make it small) spoiler free review to help you more or less understand what to expect from it. I don't do these too often, but when I actually feel the need for it and also have the time for it, I write it and hoo boy, this one needs a review, since there is probably A LOT of mixed reviews about this season. :D So let's begin!

When I thought about writing this, I didn't even really know from where to ... start or even what to write about since it's neither horrible nor great, it's kinda meh really, but I will try my best to explain what's wrong with it, what it is not and so on without spoiling the story.

I guess I'll start with blood color change, it's not great, not by a long shot, it just looks terrible and I think pretty much everyone will agree with me on that. I also tried to read about why they did it, but in the few websites that I checked, there was completely nothing about it, but my hunch is that some assholes from marketing side decided that it would be a great idea to censor as much content as possible to be able to strike a deal with as many companies as they can. It was plain stupid, and I swear to god, that those assholes better not show up near me.. Anyway, I think this theory is definitely possible because they managed to strike a deal with Netflix AND Amazon, so I guess it's good (since now you can use those memberships too), but not when you are just ruining content in the process.

Next would be the artstyle. Oh, yes, we are diving straight in it. If you noticed, it's a tad different (and yes I know about the bad stuff, I will get into that), but it's actually not that bad, i'm not saying it's great, but also it's not completely trash worthy either. So the reason why you are seeing this major difference is because it's done by a totally different studio. Studio Deen is not an inexperienced studio and they have a lot of really good works. What I suspect is, that the studio had a shortage on people to asign this project to, and not only that, they probably had not enough time to work on it, like at all. This will cause inexperieced people (of this shonen ish style) to be chosen for this and also to learn it and draw it in the given time that they had, well, it's quite impossible. Hence the reason that they needed to prioritize many things, which I would say they did pretty well, they tried to keep the vibe and look of the A-1 Pictures version to the best of their abilities, but of course there will be problems and for them it was motion. The moment you see some kind of larger movement, the detail disappears and that's a big problem. A lot of people didn't enjoy this (me too), but given that it is not done by A-1 Pictures (basically a powerhouse of artists) I tried to let it slide. I think that a lot of people also didn't like it because they read the manga (which I also did and it's really good) and if you know the manga well, you will see some differences, but not that much story wise as in effects and drawings overall. I recommend that you read the manga, it will probably be a better experience than this season.

As I said before, the vibe is there and they did try to keep it as close as possible to the story which is good. I didn't notice any major changes in the characters, the pace was also good, the only thing that bugs me the most is the clip from the ending of 24th episode, after the outro song, maybe it's just me, but something feels off there. I don't think that will impact the story at all, that is if they actually added something themselves, but I'm also not sure and I don't want to bother going through all of those chapters to find the answer so we'll see. XD

Overall I would rate it a 7/10, but not more then that, because artstyle is important and there was this weird plot thing or part I don't know how to really call it, in the ending of the 24th episode, I don't remember it being in the manga and I hope it's just me. But I also won't be harsh just because it looked worse then the previous two seasons, since it is still Nanatsu no Taizai and it was fun to watch. And please consider watching and reading this part of the story in the manga for the best experience.

So, in the end I hope that atleast something from all of my mumbling will be useful when deciding on watching it and that just in case if you actually have decided to watch it, I hope you enjoy it!

Honestly pretty surprised by the rating of this one, in comparison to the other seasons.
While there was definitely some not so good bits I thought this was probably the best season.

So first off, animation and sound I'm kinda clueless tbh so can't say either way.

The worst bit (in my opinion) was that with the ever expanding cast that keeps being divided characters are often forgotten for large chunks of the show and not mentioned which started happening a little last season but is pretty prevalent this season.
Another bad bit is really just continuing on from season 1 where very few deaths are ever ... permanent, particularly among the 'good' guys. This means that when someone dies, no matter who or in what situation, I'm rarely upset because I don't believe they're dead and I'm just waiting for them to somehow resurrect or be magically healed or smthg. As a result a lot of tensions, emotion and suspense are ruined. While obviously I don't want the characters to die...I just want the characters to die. The show needs to add some permanent deaths that have a lasting impact if they want viewers to actually worry about their faves. But, as I said before, that's not unique to this season, that was an issue right from season 1.

Now for the good which was, in a large part, character development. There was heaps of backstory going on this season. King, Diane, Elizabeth, Meliodas, Merlin, Gowther (both), p. much all the archangels and 10 commandments were explored in some really interesting ways and had some cool breakthroughs/revelations about their characters. A lot of characters who were quite annoying or seemed cruel or over the top were shown in new lights.
Another great aspect: We got much more in depth looks into some of the events of the og war and I love how the show is homing in on the idea that there isn't really good and evil, especially when it comes to entire races/cultures/classes, it comes down to individuals and their experiences and treatment etc. It's also sending some pretty good 'its never too late to change' messages. Although, I will say that it gets a little TOO obvious with some of its moral messages at points (*cough* King *cough*)

I really don't know why this anime got such a low review, I have watched all 3 seasons and can say with certainty that the 3rd is the worst Animation wise I agree that the first few episodes were extremely rough. However the third season Kamigami no Gekirin was by far in my opinion the best character and story wise. They finally gave a Elizabeth a personality!!!! she was the most flat 2 dimensional character in the first seasons but in this fianl season she is an main character that i was actually interested in! Let me clear something up for all the people watching ... this if you wanted the same seven deadly sins as seen in earlier seasons you will be disappointed because this has turned from an action, hype, animation anime, into a anime for people interested in learning about the characters beyond their bland motivations. Again though this anime is beyond perfect studio deen really slacked on important aspects of this show which would have made it that much better. Overall I think this show deserves a 7.3 or 7.5 not a 6.3

I always enjoyed Seven Deadly Sins. This season gave me mixed feelings.

Positively speaking, it brought one of my favorite arcs from the manga to life. The voice performances were still great, the emotional moments were there, and the music was still awesome (its first OP was my favorite).

That being said, the animation was a let down. Studio Deen was known for its limitations in terms of animation. While such a problem wouldn't ruin the experience in some shows like Fruits Basket (2001), an action-fantasy series like Seven Deadly Sins definitely suffered. Not only were the fight scenes lackluster compared to the last two seasons (which ... were animated by A-1 Pictures), the quiet emotional moments really suffered. Conversations became slide shows, character models and elements were sometimes inconsistent. Certain emotional scenes in the manga weren't fully realized due to the lack luster composition.

There's a certain duel I was looking forward to, but I was sadly disappointed.

Overall, it's still somewhat enjoyable and watchable. That being said, it failed to live up to the arc its adapting and comparing it to the last two seasons it's clear which season was the most mediocre.


That being said, I hoped for the best in the next season.

what happened, I was so confused when I watched the beginning, how come it turned ugly hahahaha. But for the story too, how come boring is it in the manga or not. I was a little disappointed when I watched season 1 and 2, it was so perfect when everything went to season 3, how come it really feels like watching it. Like everything that has happened in s1 and s2 rotates 360 degrees. The reason is because I changed studios, huh? Actually, Rip is a good story, but how come it's wordy in the anime and it's not fun. It's like all the scenes ... are missing. It should work, even though the studio is new to at least following the season 1 feel. It's really broken, so the anime is disappointed .. But still I respect the studio and the animators who have worked hard so I thank you 7/10, thank you.

Season 4 was nerfed down.
I personally felt that Nanatzu no Taizu had great potential like MHA OR AOT. But this season was the worst in many ways.

First to comment on was the animation. It was terrible, like i know there was a studio change but i didnt know it was that bad. The characters were designed badly and in some places the face mapping was out of line. IF the animation waas top notch then maybe this season might be worth the watch.

Story was great but i felt like it didnt progress very well, with the season ending in a cliffhanger. The first half of ... the season was shown great Drole and Gloxinia getting introduced,not go any further.Since its a spoiler.
Anyways Overall the anime is pretty decent but if u want to waste your time then go ahead watch it, it has some neat character development and all, but i would prefer to read the manga.
