I'll continue Maoyuu later too. I have it on hold. It's nowhere near the league of Spice and Wolf though.
Also yeah Gintama is just that good.
Get a taste of it by reading this.
Strawberry Milk Quote from Gintama -
"Listen up!
Let's say you drink too much strawberry milk, and have to use the bathroom in the middle of the night.
But it's cold outside your bed.
You don't want to get up, but the urge to urinate is just too strong!
You make up your mind to go!
You run to the bathroom, stand in front of the toilet, and let loose!
You think that all your life has led to this moment!
But then you realize!
It isn't the bathroom, you're still in bed!
That feeling of lukewarm wetness spreads like wildfire!
But you don't stop! You can't stop!
That's what I'm talking about!
THAT'S THE TRUTH OF THE STRAWBERRY MILK!
DO YOU GET IT!?" - SAKATA GINTOKI (GINTAMA)
Nah it's okay, I already knew you must've seen my avatar. Seemed really random to start talking about DTB out of the blue, lol.
Hm, that is an interesting situation if it started out as an original anime. It means that they generally have the flexibility of extending the series (if they intend to) as the manga is the adaptation in this case then.
One problem I see is that the anime had its 2nd season back in 2009. The longer it goes without a new season, I think it is generally less likely there will be a new season as the sales of the 2nd season was really good as I mentioned before. It would have had no problem getting a 3rd season really quickly from 2009.
I will try when I get a stable full time job. I'm almost done with my studies at university... so it shouldn't be far off now haha. Ooo yeah, Akiba sounds like a really nice place if you put it that way!
Well to start of it is the very definition of anime. It has everything an anime should have and more. Everything it does is enjoyable.
The comedy is just too much. But that's not all. Even the serious arcs are mind blowing. The characters are all brilliant and lovable. None better than Gintoki though. Sugita Tomokazu has done the most outstanding job of voicing Gintoki.
It's not all comedy though, There are some really serious arcs with loads of action. Then there are emotional ones that even bring you to tears. It does everything well. No two episodes are the same. Each arc is constructed beautifully and holds a lot of meaning. Gintoki's Dialogues when the mood gets serious really touches your heart. It does justice to every genre it represents and is not just a jack of all trades. It truly deserves every bit of praise it receives.
The arcs are combined with wonderful stand alone episodes each of which are different but always enjoyable. I haven't met anyone who dislikes Gintama yet.
Gintama can be watched at any time actually. You could easily watch it with other anime.
Gintama has literally all types of comedy. It's arguably the funniest anime out there.
Let me hear your thoughts.
Gintoki is soooooooo Lovable. Hardly any Flaws. There is not a single reason why he should be hated. The guy is a beast. The guy is a comedian. The guy is lazy. The guy is completely retarded. The guy is honorable. Above all, he loves strawberry milk. That right there just overpowers any kind of awesomeness from any other character.
He would definitely be my No.1 if it wasn't for LELOUCH.
I imagine so. The fanbase before the light novels were published in 2009 (SAO was a web novel before) was really big. So it was inevitable that the fanbase for the anime would be huge as well. I dream of visiting Akiba one day haha. Must have been a great atmosphere.
Yeah! It also makes your mind imagine how things would look like with less pictures present. The amount of detail in light novels are pretty amazing, lol.
I have heard of DTB! It was one of the most earliest anime I watched back in 2008 I think. Quite a nice series if I say so myself.
Well a new season of DTB is theoretically possible. Here are the sales of the 1st season and the 2nd season. Both sold well, with season 2 being a 'hit' (a hit is 10k+ avg sales in Japan, since anime is a niche market and anime is very very expensive in Japan compared to the Western world). Average sales per volume was 6,752 for Season 1 and 12,151 for Season 2. It all depends if the creator or producers want another season... and if there is enough manga material for another season.
Thank You. Yeah it is hard to be better than Lulu and here's why.
These are my thoughts on Lelouch:-
Well What can I say here? There are few Protagonists that rule the screen as well as Lelouch does. He makes Code Geass special. Also everything he says and does has so much meaning. Arguably the Greatest Protagonist ever. He's one of the most All Round Characters in anime. He did anything and sacrificed EVERYTHING for the good of the world and his Sister.
And those Dialogues:
Those with power, fear us! Those without power…seek us!”
“We are accomplices…If you are the witch, then I’m the devil himself”
“It wasn’t me who was wrong! It was the world!”
“Does strength represent justice if powerlessness is a crime!?”
“Stop me if you think you can, if there is anyone that holds despair greater than mine!”
“If powerlessness is a sin, than is power a justice? Is revenge a sin? Is friendship enough for justice?”
“Will there be sacrifice? Yes and not just soldiers, but innocent bystanders, as well. Even so …no …because of that, I cannot stop. Even if I need to cheat and hurt others, I must persevere. To that end I must become carnage incarnate. I must spill yet more blood, so that the blood already spilt will not be in vain.”
“I will not lose to the Geass, but will bend it to my will and make it my slave. I will fullfill both my deams and your wish!”
“If anyone doesn’t belive me kill me now! If anyone belives he can win this war without me kill me now!”
“I have already sold my soul to the devil…so I cannot go with a Goddess right now.”
“To defeat evil, I shall become an even greater evil.”
“This is a war. Do I need a reason to kill my enemy?”
“Suzaku, you shall kill me as promised.Right now all the hatred on the world is concentrated upon me as planned. Then all you have to do is erase my existance…put an end to this chain of hatred. The Black knights will hav the legend of Zero left behind for them.Schinizal will work for Zero. Now the world can be united at one table, not through violence and millitary force, but through negotiation and talk…it can embrace the future.”
“Terrorism is nothing but childish harassment…your enemies are not Brittanians, but Brittania! This is war and what you need is an army!”
“Inequality is not an evil. Equality itself is evil.”
“The world won’t change with pretty words alone.”
"If the king does not lead, how can he expect his subordinates to follow?"
"Say, how should a Britannian who detests his own country live his life?"
"What's wrong? Why not shoot? Your opponent is just a schoolboy. Or have you finally realized...the only ones who should kill are those who are prepared to be killed!"
"I, Lelouch vi Britannia, command you! Now, all of you...Die!"
"[Thinking] That was the turning point. Since that day, I've lived a lie: The lie of living. My name, too, was a lie. My personal history, a lie. Nothing but lies. I was sick to death of a world that couldn't be changed. But even in my lies, I refused to give up in despair. But now, this incredible power, it's mine. [aloud, as he grins evilly] Well, then..."
"It's been a long time, big brother. The eldest son of the late consort Marianne and 17th in line to the imperial throne, Lelouch vi Britannia, at your service."
"I have returned, Your Highness, and I've come back to change everything."
"The trick of real combat is that everyone is human."
"You can't change the world without getting your hands dirty."
(To C.C.) "C.C., I do not know why snow is white, but I do find such white snow beautiful."
(To Kallen) "I must spill yet more blood, so the blood already spilt will not be in vain."
(To Euphemia) "Farewell, Euphie. You may have been the first girl that I ever loved."
"Yes, I am Zero, the man who leads the Black Knights, who challenges the Holy Britannian Empire; The one who holds the entire world in his hand."
(To Guilford)"Let me ask you something, Lord Guilford. Supose there is an evil that justice cannot bring down. What would you do? Would you taint your hands with evil to destroy evil? Or would you carry out your own justice and succumb to that evil?"
(To himself)"I see, then I... shall become evil to conquer an evil larger still!"
"If I'm not mistaken I think it was Suzaku who said that the shape of happiness might resemble glass. His reasoning made sense. He said that even though you don't usually notice it, it is still definitely there, you merely need to change your point of view slightly, and that glass will sparkle whenever it reflects the light. I doubt that anything else can argue its own existence more eloquently."*
(To Empress Tianzi) "Your Majesty, your future belongs to you. You decide your own fate."
"The human heart has always been the source of all our power. That is why the people rose up against the High Eunuchs, and the Black Knights fight like titans. We fight with the power of our hearts!"
(To Kallen) "Kallen, you have to live."
"My name is Lelouch vi Britannia, I am the eldest son of Empress Marianne, the prince who was abandoned by his empire. If anyone wishes to stop me, let them try, if there is anyone who can go beyond my despair."
(To Charles zi Britannia) "That ... I ... I reject you, and I reject everything you believe. Why do people lie, it isn't only because they struggle against each other, it's also because there is something that they're seeking. You now want a world without change. How stagnant, you could hardly call it life. The same as a world of memories, just a world that's closed and completed, that's a place I wouldn't want to live in."
"But forcing your good intentions on others is no different from an evil act."
"I don't intend to defeat God. This is a request. Yes, now I know who I really am. God, Collective Unconscious! Please, don't stop the march of time!"
(To Schneizel) "... Life without change might be called anything except life, it's nothing more than experience. ... Yes, Emperor Charles sought the past, you seek the present, but I seek the future."
"Attention entire world, hear my proclamation. I'm Lelouch vi Britannia, Emperor of the Holy Britannian Empire and your only ruler. Schneizel has surrendered to me. As a result of this, I'm now controlling both Damocles and the F.L.E.I.J.A. weapon. ... Yes, from this day, from this moment on, the world belongs to me. Lelouch vi Britannia commands you, obey me, subject! Obey me, world!"
VERY IMPORTANT:
(Last words before end of series) "Yes, I have...Destroyed the world. And created...Anew."
He's No. 1 on MAL too. ALL HAIL LELOUCH!!!!!!
By the way,
If it wasn't for Lelouch then Sakata Gintoki would be my No.1 character for sure.
I can't remember what got me into light novels... but I remember reading the majority of volumes that were already released for SAO, before the anime starting airing last July. Was pretty hyped up for the anime, that I nearly always watched the Tokyo MX live stream xD
I do find light novels much better reads than manga, but it is sometimes daunting with chapters being extremely long and a scarcity of pictures present haha.
Yeah, I found Kokoro Connect to be a pleasant series where I would love it to get another season.
I have been compelled to read the LNs as well... as i'm sure the anime skipped some details with having to cram 4 LN volumes into 17eps. In fact, v3 of the LN was only covered in 3eps, with v1&2 getting 5eps each and v4 with 4eps!

First of all, I'm not very interested in sports, at all. I used to watch some sports a couple of years back, but I don't bother anymore. Sports aren't any fun if you don't participate yourself. I mean, how fun is it looking at a bunch of people running around on a field kicking a ball?
And even if I did, it'd probably be more like DIF, and they're like AIK's rivals. ┐( ̄ー ̄)┌
