I know it's a.. tad late, but in my defence I don't visit MAL as often as I used to, apologies!
Yeah, that's just it, isn't it? Such a gem completely wasted (and I'm not gonna mention another great story with.. dragons.. that got totally wasted in the end here). I can only hope that, rather than the author having this flat ending in mind the whole time, has something happen and they had to finish it quickly against the plan. Hence the prefunctory ending that got slapped on this otherwise brilliant story.

Honestly, that was the last shoujo I read (I've not touched the genera ever since) and I donno if I ever will again, seeing as how even such a great story can be treated so badly in the end.

Oh, no, hold up. I do read Akatsuki no Yona, so I guess there is that. The last hope, as it were, haha.

omg DUDE!!! I know you recommended me Ohayou Ibarahime ages ago but after finally sitting down with it again, I sobbed my eyes out allll throughout the final chapters and when I finally reached the end. I so didn't expect it to be such a tearjerker. it's such a heartfelt and beautiful work - thank you so much for recommending it to me, I loved it so much! I hope you've been well and healthy wherever you are in the world, things in the world have changed so much since the last time we spoke. sending you good cheer into the new year :)

Hey there! It's been long... like real long. But i hope you're doing just fine. Just here to say that i've watched some of the anime you've recommended.

Arte is kinda good. It starts as a lighthearted story but then gets serious in some of its episodes.

Bakarina is good too. It has good comedies, i laughed so hard on each of its episodes. Honestly, her route is doing just fine and i don't see anything going wrong with it.

Nami yo kiitekure isn't one of the anime i use to watch. And minare speaks too fast! I'm having a hard time reading the subtitles. I'm not sure if it's good or bad, and the comedies weren't actually my taste. But it's fun enough to follow.

I'll try the two that you mentioned, Arte and Nami yo Kiitekure. For the rest, i'll keep it for later. Perhaps when episode 5 or 6 comes out. I still haven't completed last season.

Id Invaded was better than i thought, it hits me hard when Narihisago went back to the past. For Eizouken, it wasn't my favourite but it was good. I like episode 7 particularly, it was the best one in my opinion. The first 5 minutes were so good and i almost thought of it as a whole episode. I didn't realize it has only been 5 minutes until the Opening song comes in. It really give a highlight to Mizusaki's childhood and motivation for creating anime. Creating animation, to be precise.

Ah... i see. The quarantine makes me isolated too....

My favourites so far is Id Invaded, Somali, Ishuzoku, Bofuri and Hanako kun and Magia Record (for episode 13).

Hello, how're you doing? I've been catching up to the last season now. And i'm continuing id:invaded for the moment. Dunno if it's going to be good or not. I'm not familiar with detective//mystery stories.

Also, i'm surprised you gave eizouken a 10/10. But perhaps that's because i rarely ever give any show a 10 lol.

What do you think about this season anyway? Spring has a good start, imo. I've only watched 3 anime so far, Yesterday wo Utatte, Kakushigoto and Kaguya S2. I'm not really interested with the other titles from this season. But, well it doesn't hurt to try new things.

And.... how many volumes of tongari boushi do you own? #justwannask

Hello Good Day!

I made a review in Run with the Wind. Here's the https://myanimelist.net/reviews.php?id=334140. I would like to know your opinion about the show. It will be nice if you have any opinions on my review. I am open to criticism. If you like the review, clicking the helpful button is highly appreciative to show your support.

Yeah i do. I wanna try being a seasonal anime watcher for a bit, so i made this account. Haven't catched up to everything but i've just completed Darwins Game and Dorohedoro recently. You can chat with me if you want, as long as it's about seasonals and manga list ^^)

Your favourites seems nice. I'm currently reading yugami kun and planning to read tongari boushi too.

Your tastes are acceptable.

hmm yeah the VR game doesn't look too exciting lol but then again i don't really prefer VR games anyways, my anxiety won't let me enjoy them so that will be an automatic but sad pass from me chief~ ;p
i rewatched LWA for the third time and finished it around a week ago near Christmas (maybe it was just seasonal depression) but i rlly felt down missing the characters lol im a bit of a crybaby like that so im definitely looking into getting the RPG like game just to console and get my ass together and move on
besides LWA tho any other high recommends for someone who hasn't watched alot of anime?
kind of a noobie weeb here dont mind me~
renyoo Jan 1, 2020 11:37 AM
after everything u told me it pains me to say my LWA heart still desperately wants that game lmao all it heard was "voice actors=great performances","brand new anime scenes","lore stuff","side characters=more time","75%".
sorry but tht 75% is making my broke ass v tempted rn to risk it all
why do great animes always have such little volumes ;c the characters are so good i wouldn't mind just reading more about them and their everyday school witchy endeavors ;c
do u know if the creator is making anything similar/any new anime/manga?
maybe it can fill the void in my heart LWA created
renyoo Dec 31, 2019 4:47 PM
OMG! don't even get me started on it not having another season i still wake up every morning and brainwash myself into believing there's another season coming so i can cope i-
i do kno there is a game but no i haven't played it how is it??? worth it?
renyoo Dec 30, 2019 3:00 PM
Yes!! Little Witch Academia snapped off! only the real recognize real

talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, shit on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it!

catnipspirits Oct 29, 2019 5:00 PM
yes!! i'm in the same boat as you so i'd be happy to have a friend to talk to about shoujo, and anime/manga in general :) that's a really good point about the adaptation. that interview is really thoughtful and informative. I think I'll give it a proper thorough read later on but the stuff they talked about was so interesting. like when they were talking about the decision to zoom in on a character in their vulnerable moments, and how chika totally hesitates on that because she gets embarrassed, like for rei (especially cuz he's got a fragile pride/sense of self, being a young man and all) so she uses a long shot in the manga instead, cuz she wants to give them their space in a way, and that that's her way of spoiing her characters? yo I never thought of it that way. and I really feel what she means! they talked about such interesting things. thanks for sharing it!

yeah i'm not nearly fluent enough to read the untranslated volumes smoothly but i figured i'd eventually get there, maybe by trying to read these volumes, and get to benefit from the art looking freaking stunning in my hands and on my bookshelf, on top of supporting chika. plus the untranslated, original volumes are really cheap when you buy them from the source; english volume prices are jacked uppp. i guess that's the (literal) price you pay for being able to understand it all 😅

my thoughts exactly on the fruits basket remake, seriously. like you said, that craptastic late 90s-2000s humor and sometimes bashing you over the head with the "hey this is deep and you should feel sad/enlightened now" were the main flaws for me, but then they really came through with some honestly touching moments, lessons, and characterizations. when they talked about momiji's situation and then they had those few episodes around when they talked about kisa's bullying + uotani's story, I bawled my eyes out lol. so flaws and all I still enjoyed it and I'm happy I got to consume this sort of legendary series in a neat little 'modern-remake-of-all-manga-volumes-with-sparkly-new-art!' package.

sorry about the huge reply I don't know how this happened lol. enjoy 3gatsu :D
catnipspirits Oct 28, 2019 7:45 AM
wow thank you for the detailed list of recommendations! you won't regret starting the 3gatsu manga, it's really gorgeous. i don't know if you ever feel this but sometimes when I read the manga source material after watching its anime adaptation, I'm thrown for a bit of a loop cuz they don't look quite the same or the vibe is different - but that totally wasn't the case with 3gatsu. the art and dialogue and sound effects and everything in the manga are word for word/play for play(? yea i just made that up) just like the anime so it was a really smooth transition for me. i think you'll know what i mean even from the first few chapters! i ended up buying all current volumes out when i had the opportunity to do so, to support the mangaka - the hard copies are so beautiful. plus i think the scanlator group does a really good job too.

i'm excited to try out some of your recs. ohayou ibarahime looks really promising and it's a short read so it's perfect for my procrastinating purposes lol. and i've been meaning to get into akatsuki no yona for a while so i'm happy to hear that you recommend it too. besides that the only ones i've touched are tonari no kaibutsu kun (i liked it but dropped it for some reason?) + all the old ones you mentioned; kimi ni todoke (got burnt out watching the anime in a short period of time so i dropped the manga midway) + kaichou wa maid-sama (this one... i watched the anime and hated it) + fruits basket (watched the anime remake coming out these days; quite liked it). anyways, looks like i've got some work to do (〃・ิ‿・ิ)ゞ thanks again!
catnipspirits Oct 27, 2019 2:42 PM
hey this is pretty random but i happened across your comment on reddit 3 years ago about taiyou no ie and you mentioned that you read a lot of shoujos! i just finished reading taiyou no ie and really enjoyed it so i was wondering if you had any shoujo recommendations? seeing 3gatsu as your favorite anime, i feel like we might have similar tastes x)
