heya thanks for the friend request! i appreciate it. i don't post often on r/anime and when i do i feel like no one's gonna see my flop comments, so it's nice to know you saw me there

i'd say the same - i don't often find people with over 70% affinity. usually the highest is in the 60s?

as you probably saw from my reddit post, i'm not a very shounen person as of late. and by shounen i mean the "obviously shounen because look at all this nakama power right here" kind (aka battle shounens) but HxH is one i'm very positive I'd like, from what I've seen. The only reason I haven't watched it yet (same for FMA even though its shorter, and many other titles that have lots of episodes) is the episode count. And it's not that I dont like long anime. I realized this the other day while chatting with a friend when he suggested me gintama since I like comedy-focused shows with absurd humor such as arakawa, nichijou, sakamoto, hoozuki etc. and I was like yeah i think so too but the episode count.... and then I realized. I could watch all these series at my very own pace, like one or two episodes a day if I don't have the time, or binge watch a bunch if I'm really into it, but the reason I didn't watch them yet is because I am already anxious to *finish* a show before I even start it!!! Does that make sense? My friend has the same thing so it made sense for him but you seem used to long anime so you probably don't. But it's weird. I feel unmotivated that it's so long when there is NO PROBLEM at all if I take six months, a year or more to finish a long series. I mean, that's exactly how it was when I watched long stuff such as Sailor Moon, CCS, DBZ, etc! As a kid you only get one episode a day! It takes even longer! Why after I grew up I became anxious to finish something like I am now...?

AND why am I suddenly ok when an anime (already finished) gives me the illusion of being less episodes because it's split into different seasons and if i watch them all it's essentially the same thing as watching a "long" anime? (jigoku shoujo, minami-ke, currently going through monogatari series are examples that come to mind, and i'm sure it'll be the same case for other franchises i watch in the future)

And how do I see shared anime? I've never used it surprisingly. It's probably because u haven't done much on MAL for the past few months.

Is there a way I can check the list of anime that we don't share?

They're all anime I've said I'll watch and just don't cause of a certain reason.
I've been saying to myself I'll watch 91 days for the last 6 months. My main reason for not having started watching it was that I'm not sure it'll get a second season, and I don't like incomplete anime. Could it be that the story ended in 12 EPs?

Same story with Assassination Classroom.

I've not watched Berserk cause I plan to read the manga, which I've heard is much better.

Dunno I've got it in me to watch something as long as Boruto and DB super again.

I dropped Fairy Tail. Isn't 2014 a sequel to it?

I've been planning to watch Higurashi for a long time now, but the art had always put me off.

I put Toradora and Rakugo on hold because I got bored.

Sword of the Stranger has the same story as the others that I'm interested in, but have procrastinated watching. Haha

I see you like Hunter x Hunter, I've been wanting to start it for a while, what's the difference between the original and (2011)? Or is it a sequel series

It's enjoyable as long as you don't expect too much realism. What's it called, I'm not into any other sports anime/manga but am willing to try more!

I agree the expectations would be too high for them to be too consistently good. I feel like a lot of the people who only watched the shows and had issues would enjoy the mangas. And yup top notch sound tracks and fights for the most part

Hey. I'm also a fan of Naruto and One Piece, but think in both cases that the manga are awesome while the animes are disappointing (relative to the manga counterparts)
