Sakigake!! Otokojuku

They start out as comedy /parody series but eventually evolve into tournament fighting. Both manga have crazy and violent fights, but the dead characters tend to not stay dead for long and come back via deus ex machina. The main appeal in both is how outrageous some of the fighting techniques are. Overall Kinnikuman is probably the better manga though, mostly because the characters in Sakigake are pretty bland.

Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica

Both are rather dark and trippy takes on their respective genres. Both have impressive audio and visuals (the Ideon Be Invoked movie at least, the TV series not so much) and pretty bizarre endings. It seems like Madoka is somewhat inspired by Ideon.

Tokyo Ghoul
add

If you liked Tokyo Ghoul's dark and gritty story, you need to get into Dorohedoro! They are both seinen manga about a split society (basically two groups of races at war with each other), masked people and lots of gore and body horror. In both series the main character undergoes some sort of identitiy crisis. Probably the biggest difference is, that Dorohedoro doesn't take itself that seriously sometimes, while TG pretty much always does.

One Punch-Man

Both series are about an extremely overpowered main character and most of the situations in these stories revolve about the MC dealing with much weaker enemies, usually defeating them in one hit. Both series eventually reach a point where they can't one-shot everything anymore, but for the most part Saitama and Kenshiro are never really in danger. The biggest difference between these two is, that Hokuto takes itself dead serious, while OPM actually makes fun of mangas like Hokuto or Dragon Ball and only occasionally gets serious.

Manly men doing manly things. Both are have a somewhat similar aesthetic (for example character designs and line work), gory fights and both draw quite a bit of inspiration from Fist of the North Star.

Tokyo Ghoul √A
add

Both of these anime have similar themes, such as survival, turning into a monster or canibalism. Another simmilarity is the bizarre and almost random structure of the plot, which is because of lack of loyalty to the source material. Also both anime are very bloody, but most of the graphic gore is censored, for better or for worse.

Berserk

Blaster Knuckle
add

Violent and manly manga. Both are about a cold hearted and muscular hero, who wants to take revenge on a demonic villain. In both series huge weapons are used in the battles. Also both manga touch on heavy topics (rape and misogyny in Beserk's case and racism and slavery in Blaster Knuckle's case), although it's not the main focus in either of these manga.

Both are extremely trashy OVA about a shape shifting test subject running wild and killing everyone in the progress. Also both are very gory and have a huge amount of blood.

Yu☆Gi☆Oh! 5D's

The design of the motorcycles in YGO 5D's are inspired by Akira. They also share a similar setting (dystopian cyberpunk city) and some futuristic elements. Both have a pretty dark atmosphere (especially Akira).

Boku no Hero Academia

In both manga the MC is an underdog who gets bullied at first, but over time he gets stronger and finds friends. There is a strong emphasis on friendship and acceptance in both series and on top of that some of the characters are very similar (e.g. Kakashi & Eraserhead, Might Guy & All Might, Rin & Ochako etc...)

JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 4: Diamond wa Kudakenai

Both manga are about teenagers who encounter crazy enemies and fight them by summoning monsters. Also both series are somewhat episodic/monster of the week (only the beginning in YGO is episodic though). Both manga have silly character designs and crazy haircuts.

JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 1: Phantom Blood

Very manly and violent old school manga with a lot of action. Both are about an epic rivalry between the main character and the villain. Also in both manga the villain is very charismatic and beloved by most, until the MC discovers his true evil nature.

Chokin Senshi Cashman

Since they're both based on Akira Toriyama's mangas, they have a similar art style and wacky sense of humor. Cashman behaves a lot like the Great Saiyaman. They also take place in the same universe.

Shingeki no Kyojin

Pseudo medeval setting, man eating monsters, gore, grim atmosphere and a constant struggle for survival. Also the main character has a montrous site that he/she tries to bring under control. And the soundtrack is pretty damn sweet.

Both are very iconic battle shounen with a heavy emphasis on action. Not only do they have likeable characters and cool battles, but also a pretty fast pacing without filler episodes. Also the way the characters fight (special techniques, power ups, etc) is very simmiliar.

At first glance these anime couldn't be more different since they are completely different genres, but what they have in common is a dense atmosphere and a mysterious soundtrack. Also both anime deal a lot with nature and animals.
