Said big Virgo friend is a tomboy and is a big fan of dark seinen manga. Huge sci-fi nerd also and her birthday is on 12th of September like Kenichi Suzumura or Mrs. Sakamoto's husband.
By the way, my big Virgo friend loves the same light novels adaptations that you have in your favorites.
Did you give yourself bangs? LOL did you follow those YouTube tutorials? That's great you can dye your hair yourself, save so much money! I don't have the patience to test it out myself so I usually go to the hair salon. I'm glad to hear you weren't too affected financially and still have your job. Must be crazy on your part to keep the cleaning and telling customers to obey the rules. Were there tough situations where they didn't listen?
Wow a garden, I think that's a whole other level to deal with and more work too. I think just raising tropical indoor plants 🪴 would be more relaxing since you don't need to take care of it as much.
But wow, 10 actual years... Now I feel old (thanks), time sure flies and I'm absolutely terrible when it comes to keeping contact with people. Plus you know, the more you wait and the more awkward it feels to just send a message, so I'm glad you're slightly better than me in that regard x)
Seems you indeed went through a lot during all these years, really hope you're feeling better now. Also congratz for being a productive member of society, you don't seem too thrilled to get back to work but heh, who would be after a week of holiday. Hope it's a job you still enjoy? I just realized I have no idea what your college studies were, let alone which kind of job you might be doing ^^'
As for me... well I must have changed jobs 3 times since then, with a bit of slacking off in between, but I feel like I'm finally settled in my current one and here to stay. Very busy days though and I'm probably doing more crazy hours than I should, so starting to feel tired. But I also have some holidays coming up soon, so really looking forward to it. I'll do absolutely nothing for a week, and that will be glorious.
One thing that hasn't changed is that I still watch a ton of anime, that's also why I come back here regularly, to update my list. For... no reason really, I just have to update it. I'm always open to suggestions too btw, if anything caught your attention recently (or not) then I'm interested.
With the current job I'm busier when I'm working since there really isn't down time like what I was doing before, but there's no life and death stuff since I work with data now and the work life balance is a lot better aside from crunch time.
Your work situation is kind of like what I had going in my previous department, the person who would work the nights I was off would pretty much jet as soon as they could get a day job in the company, or they'd just burn out since they couldn't handle the overnight shifts. Generally there was no one else willing to cover that so I would pick up the slack. Hopefully your new coworker carries their weight, I'd try to make it clear what your expectations for them are early and hopefully it works out. I know it's really annoying when you have coworkers you can't count on.

Feels like it's been 10 years since we talked, and the worst part is I'm probably not far off the mark... I've kinda lost contact with so many people in the past years (no more IRC or Skype), I'm still lurking here to update my list every once in a while but I didn't think you were still around too.
So how have you been since... all this time? ^^'
Are you still working for the same place you were working before? Hoping they get you some decent help and they stick around this time.
LOL did you attempt to cut your own hair? Or you just waited it out? I have been affected but not too bad. I wasn't laid off until earlier this year so I guess it was easier to deal with and finding new jobs. Other than that, I picked up new hobbies such as learning how to play tennis and going to the driving range. Started raising plants (thankfully they're all alive so far). And mostly focusing on self-care which I think has been a common theme. What about yourself?
I know!! Honestly, I haven't typed an essay in years LOL but somehow the conversation escalated and we continued typing essays to each other hahaha
