I pray Xebec does the production again. The OVA format they went with was amazing. I had never seen anything Yamato related until Peter from JList posted a figure of Yuki Mori from 2199. I checked it out for her and stayed because of the characters, story, action, and how new/old school the characters looked. It sits as my 10th favorite anime of all time.

Pretty excited for this, especially considering fans of the original installments widely consider the second to be the best. My only concerns are about the format it'll take, and over what span of time it's going to be released.

Wasnt expecting this at all, but still great news for me since I loved the first season, more space opera and yamato goodness!
I honestly tought we would never see an adaptation of the original second season.

I am skeptical as well. Because the original sequel was actually better than the first installment. So if anything, everything will have to be improved.

No matter, this is good news anyway.

If this even turns out to be a 7-8/10 I would consider it a success. I find setting the bar low on things like this help manage expectations and make me feel better about whatever the final showing will be.

I hope it will air as TV anime :)

Can't wait for this XD

I'd personally prefer they stick to the OVA format to ensure it stays in line with the production quality from 2199.

Woohooo so happy for this, S1 of this has flaws but nevertheless is a fun anime to watch.

I don't really mind the staff change but the question is will this be OVA or TV series

It's been so long since the last one aired I just don't see this one getting any traction.

Get hype! Weirdly enough, Space Battleship Yamato S2 was one of the first series I watched, and is partly responsible for me getting into anime.

Have pretty high expectations for this. I wonder which ending they'll adapt...?

Yet another beautiful checkmark on my wishlist, this is great. I miss seeing the Yamato in action along with that glorious OST. What's next, Pandora Hearts reboot?
