Manga Shijou Saikyou no Deshi Kenichi (Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple) will conclude in the 42nd issue of Shounen Sunday magazine. The issue (which will be published on September 17th) will feature the 24-page long final chapter, including some pages in color. An announcement regarding a new project is also expected.

Syun Matsuena's series began its serialization in Shounen Sunday in 2002. It received a TV anime adaptation in Fall 2006, and several sequel OVA episodes have been bundled with recent manga volumes.

Just finished reading the last chapter and I enjoyed its end. I am now looking forward to his next work.

Eh, I don't want a Season 2. I want a new adaptation. Honestly, the last one utilized SO many extension techniques--sometimes the "new" part of the episode wouldn't even start until the mid-way point.

Just give me a do-over, HxH style.

I have known this Manga for quite some time now, and I still haven't read it or watched the Anime adaption.
Well, at least there will be a new project.

Is it just me or are a lot of manga series ending recently? Claymore, KnB, Illegal Rare, etc...
Illegal Rare was cancelled.

Oh, so Illegal Rare was cancelled. Saw it few minutes ago and thought that it just started this year and it will end already. That sucks for the author.

Mostly, they did skip a few chapters that get brought up later though.

Hmmm.. ok. I'll consider continue reading again after it ends.

I've always liked this series as it shows growth in the character.

I'd love to see a grown up character or a sequel to this series (anime and/or manga; both preferred)

I guess it's about time to end, but it's still sad that it is, was still one of more entertaining shounens out there. Damn that feeling of deprivation...

After a couple underwhelming arcs... it's ending? I like most of the supporting cast, but I felt like it was dragging on for a long while. There were a couple good chapters in the middle after D&D, but it's overall meh unless you really like Kenichi and Miu.

Season 2 anime when?

Sep 8, 2014 7:04 PM by Zapredon

although i wasnt liking this last arch very much, i think it is ending very soon, 1 or 2 more archs would be ideal but whatever.

just hope like i hope for claymore that it doesnt end like sh*t

That's sad though it was running in 12 years isn't actually bad. I liked the manga; it has some really nice action, I liked the characters and at least they develop (especially Kenichi).

I wonder what the big project will be.

Not gonna miss it...

The only two good things about it were Haruo Niijima, and nicely drawed girls.

Agree. Stereotypical characters, meh fights. Never understood the hype.

I had a feeling judging by where the current arc is, but didn't expect it to actually end :(. oh well.

I'm pretty bummed about this even though it sorta makes sense considering where the story was. I'll definitely miss you Kenichi. :(

Fuck I knew this day would come once, but its too soon, I expected to follow Kenichi through a lot more awesome fights for years to come. :(

Hoping for the big project reveal to their be a new manga focusing on time skip, or an anime to adapt everything perfectly and slowly (HxH 2011 style)

Salute to the greatest Disciple. T_T
