I always thought of Serial Experiments Lain as a masterpiece. Upon his passing I decided to finally watch Kino no Tabi and it totally blew me away. It's now in my top 5 favorites. His anime are timeless and will never be forgotten. And I'll always look at Despera with envy and imagine how great it would have been, it joins The Dream Theater as the masterpieces that never were.

RIP

That's sad, Kino no Tabi is one of my alltime favorites. I should probably give Lain another try too.

Finished Kino no Tabi and it's movies last night. Wasn't the best anime in the world, but he did a great job making such a mundane, episodic setting fairly interesting. My condolences with his family and may you have had no regrets.
