Anime Movie Adaptation of 'Hyakuemu.' Manga Announced

The Annecy Work in Progress event at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival announced an anime movie adaptation of Uoto's Hyakuemu. manga on Thursday. The event also revealed a visual (pictured above) and the main staff. The movie will use 2D animation and rotoscoping. It is scheduled to be released in Japan in 2025.

Uoto serialized the sports manga in Magazine pocket from November 2018 to August 2019. Kodansha published the fifth and final volume in October that year.

Synopsis
Togashi is born to run. As a kid, he is naturally gifted and wins every 100-meter race without effort. But in sixth grade, he meets Komiya, a transfer student who is full of determination but lacks technique. In teaching him, Togashi gives Komiya a new purpose: to win no matter what. @DatRandomDude If that's the case then we can expect 2025 release date for this one.

I know Cherry and Virgin have completely different stuff but it's also 2D x Rotoscope anime so I mentioned it. I have a very bad feeling about that anime too be honest hopefully it doesn't end up getting cancelled.

@ZXEAN Tbf Iwaisawa said close to the end of last year he had another film that's gonna release before Hana (most likely was talking about this one.) so it looks like Hana could be the one releasing in 2026 - 2027.

Cherry and Virgin is a completely different staff

I have a feeling the release date will be around 2026 or 2027 for this one. We still don't have any additional info about "Hana is beautiful" (same direction's project) and "Cherry and Virgin" both were suppose to be 2D x Rotoscope anime.
