action comedy magic school |
SynopsisDuring a flashback, an interviewer inquires Kuzumi Taiga, a prospective student for Seinagi Private High School, on what he would do if he could use magic, during his entrance interview. He replies, "take over the world", with an outburst of laughter, from an attractive girl, following his answer. After the entrance exam, the school rejects his application; although he recalls almost nothing after this event, he does recall the girl, and believes the cause of his school of choice rejecting his application involves her.
Wandering around outside of the school the next day, Kuzumi tries to enter, but an invisible barrier blocks him. A teacher, Mr. Hiiragi, confuses Kuzumi for a student of the school ditching class and pulls Kuzumi into the school through the barrier.
Seinagi Private High School is actually a magic school; Kuzumi is a teenager with no magical skill. Mr. Hiiragi has just accidentally pulled Kuzumi through the barrier into Seinagi Private High School, a magic school.

Mx0 is a Shounen, Supernatural, Action, Romantic, Comedy that tries to do so much, of what has already been done before, but it does it all fantastically well.
The story follows your not-so-typical delinquent student (Taiga Kuzumi) who wasn’t able to get into “Seinagi Private High School” and he believes it’s the cause of a certain girl (Aika Hiiragi) during the interview. So he breaks into the school to meet her again but he’s surprised to discover that it is a magic school and after a hilarious twist of events he ends up transferring as a student of the school. Not so surprising for a shounen manga and this would have been your average Rom/Com if it wasn’t for the well implemented supernatural element & awesome characters. The story’s set up so well and in between the usual high school antics are a bunch of mini arcs, lasting a couple chapters, which focus on a particular story or event (exams, matches, training, etc). However for whatever reason, this manga was canned, just when things were getting real interesting so the ending may feel rushed.
The characters consist of the typical personalities found in your average high school comedy but that isn’t entirely a bad thing, as they all are integral parts that make up this story. Of course Taiga Kuzumi is the male protagonist that it all revolves around and you’ll remember him for being the greatest fraudster/trickster ever. Seeing him go through hell and still come out on top is a great experience. What’s more is that he manages to surprise us with his intuitive thinking, whilst never forgetting to make a witty comment or try to act cool. However what’s odd is that the love interest is just an ordinary girl instead of the usual hottie found in shounen material. At least it allows Taiga Kuzumi to stand out.
The quality of the artwork is great, with this manga having decently drawn backgrounds/environments and the character designs are brilliant and somewhat imaginative. However when things get very action oriented, the artwork gets pretty messy, making some situations hard to follow.
Overall Mx0 is a hilarious and highly enjoyable Action Rom/Com with an incredibly diverse Supernatural side to it, having a lot of thought put into the Magic System. The story is amazing because it is set out, in a way that the reader is taken on a ride and will never stop rooting for the main character. Nonetheless this type of magic school thing has been done already, yet if you don’t mind then you are sure to enjoy all the magical fun. This is definitely a manga worthy of an animated adaptation, so be sure to check it out, even though you may be saddened by the abrupt ending. read more

Any shounen fan would enjoy this manga right from the beginning, and if you are the kind of person who is looking for something newer and more refreshing believe me you will still like this manga.
I'll try to make it as short as i can.
Story 7.
- Just your typical shounen story, our main who is a delinquent student joins school that secretly teach magic, then fall in love with a girl at the school, and she becomes his main motivation in the story, the rest will develops in base on him trying to make her happy.
Art 9.
- I was so hooked that didn't pay much atention to the art, and i guess thats what a good manga should be, right? well atleast for me, you know...always wanting to know as soon as possible whats gonna happen when you click next page forgetting about the draws.....anyways if you like beautiful drawings don't worry, the art was top notch, character's design was great, also all the fighting scenes were very detailed and easy to follow.
Characters 10.
- Here is where this manga show his true colours, Kuzumi Taiga is one of the best characters i've come across so far, he is the kind of character you'd like to have on every shounen manga/anime, even if it's as a secondary role. You will like him right from the beginning to the end, he is not your average highschool boy that you would see in any action/comedy/romance, he certainly looks like one, but as the story goes you might notice how unique he is, he has no flaws yet you will find him so realistic, you will not get bored of him one single episode, because of the way he gets out of trouble using his brains, intuition and skills and not expecting some dam miracle to come out of his ass like it is nowdays in every shounen, anyways to make it short .....he is a magician that roundhouse kick.
Now lets go to the other two mains, Hiiragi Aika who is Kuzumi's crush, Aika is your clumsy type, and ressembles truly how a clumsy character should be, making the reader smile and laugh, and not just trying to be funny, like nowdays's most of the "clumsy" females that are way too stupid, of course with a big pair of tits and lots of fanservice make the reader to don't care anymore. Aika didn't had that much development on her through the story but was very enjoyable to follow her and her relation with kuzumi. She and her father Kenjiro hiiragi are mostly the ones that brings the comedy genre in the manga, the interaction and moments between Aika's father and Kuzumi were hilarious, had me craking up everytime they were together, there are other great characters that can be counted as mains that appear in the later episodes, but i won't go there, this is already too long.
Enjoyment 10.
- Like i said you will enjoy it from the begining to the end being or not being a shounen fan, the simplicity of the plot, the awesome characters and highspeed development of the story will make you finish this manga in one night.
Overall 9
-This is a must read for all shounen/action/comedy lovers. read more

Both Rosario+Vampire and Mx0 are high school Supernatural, Rom/Coms; but R+V focuses more on monsters and the romantic comedy side of things, on the other hand Mx0 focuses more on its characters and magical wizardry. ^_^
Mx0 and Rosario+Vampire are quite similar. In Mx0, the main character has to lie about being able to use magic. In R+V, the main character has to hide the fact that he's human. Both manga are school-based. Romance is also prevalent in both - more so in the case of R+V.
While the supernatural settings are different, it involves the same situation in where the male protaganist must hide his image from school.
Both main characters get into an rather unfortunate situation, one ends up at a school of monsters, and one ends up at a magic school. Both are in a situation, that when they tell they are human, they die. So both keep it quiet and keep acting. They get in several fights dangering their identity, but through monstrous and magical friends, they survive and keep getting into weird situations, great fights and humorous scene's.

Same author, similar characters
Both of these manga series has similar feeling as well as being written by the same author.
The character designs are also similar in both series and even the main protagonist and heroine have similar personalities.
There is comedy, romance, drama, ecchi, and supernatural elements present in both manga as well.
It gives off the same feel as Mx0,with the manga-ka being the same one.
