If I were to describe Hana-Kimi in one word it would have to be: HILARIOUS. This manga is 75% of the time comedy filled. I guarantee, especially for those looking for a romantic high school drama, that Hana-Kimi will give you a run for your money.
Now, how many people will crossdress and secretly attend an all boys just to meet their idol? Not very many, although there might be those select few of you out there (How you pull that off is beyond me. n_n;; But good luck to you). Anyway... Miizuki Ashiya does just that. This somewhat simple gesture turns her world, also those of her male classmates upside down--even going as far as making one of them believe that he is gay! It's a giggle-fest all the way and it is just too irresistable. read more

If you’re looking for a High School drama filled with yearning romance, hilarious situations, quite pretty art and boys who are (or think they are) gay, then this is the manga for you! There are photo shoots, bullying, beaches, treasure hunts, sports, with a little bit of alcohol and cross-dressing on the side. Great fun!
Story: For the story, I give it an 8. It was a good tale, if a little on the stale side with some of the plotlines. But only some! The overall ‘Girl likes Guy in High School’ plot is mixed up a bit with the main character (Mizuki) pretending to be a boy, with just the right amount of Drama and Angst to keep a reader interested. And the best thing about the story? It’s complete!
Art: I must give it a 9! Beautiful artwork. The boys all look very pretty, but don’t expect much from the backgrounds. I mean, they're not bad, but they are not the main focus. The focus in this manga is mostly on the characters – which are gorgeous I must say again. There are some SD parts when the characters are flipping out, but they don’t dominate the story, and the silliness of the artwork at those times adds to the humour. Very nice overall!
Character: Ahhh, the characters... Definitely a 10! I think the characters were the reason I was able to finish this manga so fast! I absolutely love dramatic interactions between the people in the stories I read, and this has it all! There are relationships that range from romantic to fanatic and back again. Great stuff.
Enjoyment: 9! I loved this manga so much, that when I found out that there was a real-life TV show of it in Japan, I watched as many episodes I could find online at the time... Oh dear me, I’m surprised that the shininess and the cheesiness didn’t kill me. But yes, I really enjoyed it. :D
Overall, I give this manga a 9. I thought it was a great manga, and well worth a casual read if you’re ever in the mood for a humour/romance shoujo manga.
I hope this was helpful! :D read more

This is also where a girl cross dresses to get into an all boy school, but the sport is basketball instead of high jump
Same story just with different characters and a few other small changes that don't really matter. It's not AS good as Hana-Kimi, but its still really good and worth reading if you liked that, and while its the same stuff it manages to make it so you dont feel like your just re-reading HK or something.
It feels very identical to me, not only is the art similar, but the story and occurances are as well. For example, both female leads don't know how to find their own bed after the lights have gone out ^^; Very charming if you have read one to read the other, even though it feels a bit repetative.
Both manga have the same basic storyline, with the girl crossdressing as a boy (although one was willing and the other was forced), sharing a dorm room with a guy, and well, see what happens.
The same story, a girl come into a school as a guy, fell in love with her roomate...
Hana-Kimi is high jump while Power is basketball. BUT Hana-Kimi is much better, both in its artistic style and its plot!
Both have girls pretending to boys in an all boys high school
A girl has to disguise herself as a boy for one reason or another. Her love interest is her roommate, but complications arise when the roommate starts to fall in love with the girl. They are both really well done.
My first impression of Power!! (also known as Girl Got Game) was that it was basically the basketball version of Hana-Kimi. There are huge differences between the two -- the biggest being that Power!! is comedic where Hana-Kimi is dramatic -- but they share the same basic dynamic, girl pretending to be boy lives with boy. Gender-bending has never been so hilarious!
If you like Hana Kimi, then you might wanna try reading Power!! Girl got Game. The plot is not similar but yet so close. In hana kimi, the main female character disguising as a boy to meet the one she idolized that is one of the high jump athlete, while in power, the female character disguising as a boy because her father told her so in order for her to join the well known high school basketball club. But one thing in common about this two girl is they just funny and hilarious, and the fact that they had to hide their identity.
Cross-dressing fun! :) Girl infiltrates school as boy, chaos ensues! Power!! is published by Tokyopop as Girl Got Game, and has less drama than Hana-Kimi, but lots more comedy!
Both are incredibly similar. They both are in situations where they have to pretend to be a boy and live with other boys. They also both end up falling for the one they have to share a room with. And they both involve sports. Except girl got game is more comedy and hana kimi is more romance. They're both great though =D
Both are gender-benders and involve sports.
gender-benders, very sweet stories about a girl posing a guy attending school for different reasons. coincidentally (or .. not) they both are in love with their roommates
They're both about a cross-dressing girl who goes to an all boys-school. Both girls fall in love with their room-mates, who by the way are really good at sports (so are the girls, as well).
They are exactly the same except for in Hana Kimi, Mizuki goes of her own free will, and in Power, Aizawa is forced.
Power!! and Hana-Kimi are both gender-bender series, both are very funny comedies and characters are simply hilarious. But let me tell you a secret: I enjoyed Power!! more than Hana-Kimi. Why? Power!! is more comedy than shoujo, it contains more action + I absolutely LOVE pairing Kyo/Chiharu (and this statement comes from someone who usually hates shoujo... Power!! is shoujo for people who don´t like shoujo. Hana-Kimi is more about romance and such, but it´s still great and funny. I highly recommend both series.
They are both about a girl who cross dresses as a guy and fall in love with their roommates.
Power!! is another gender-bender about a girl who has to cross-dress as a boy. The difference here is the girl is forced by her father in order to play on the top-ranked boys basketball team, and the focus on this series is comedy whereas Hana-Kimi has more drama.
If you loved the gender bender comedy of Hana Kimi you will enjoy Power - Girl Got Game. She is enrolled by her basketball loving father as a male at a school so she can play on the guys basketball team so she has to live in the guys dorm and hide the fact she's a girl. Lots of comedy and fun!!! Enjoy. Power is different enough from Hana Kimi that you won't feel like it's a copy and Power! is really really funny, like rolling on the floor funny.

Both have incredible comical aspects to the stories as well as a slight incorporation of drama. Additionally, they're both based during the main actresses' high school days. And, well, the main protagonists cross-dress, and are admired by main male students. Really, both stories have similar plots except Hana-Kimi is driven with one major goal while Ouran continues many episodes of stories that seem to not lead to a major plot ending as of yet, at least. Both are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for the comedy and just overall amazingness of each story.
Cross dressing action and lots of cute boys!
A girl who hides her identity and its surrounded by a lot of guys. In hana-kimi she goes to an all boys school just to see her idol, in ouran she must fulfill her debt so... she is forced :D both very funny and interesting stories
Both main female characters are posing as males in a school. Both are comedys and romance, though one leans more to romance, and the other leans more to comedy. Both main female characters have similar personality traits, straight forward and oblivious to the feelings of affection from the guys surrounding them. both are reverse harem.
umm.... cause SB said so! alot of bishonen and there is the main character that is a cross-dresser.
Screw-ball romantic comedy involving a girl who cross-dresses due to a certain reason and must maintain the secret in order to *insert whatever here*
they both take places in an all boy school and shojo beat recommended it
hana kimi and ouran hshc are similare because the main character of both of the series are girls posing as a guyand that they are serounded by guys
Similar story line, interesting characters with lots of humor.
Both are gender-blender manga, involving the heroine masquerading as a boy and living amongst beautiful bishounen. The only difference is that in Ouran, the host club know that she is a girl (but the customers don't ^_^) and in Hana-Kimi, only a couple people know. However, both are extremely well-written and a great read!
they are very similar because they are both about a girl pretending to be a boy being together/having to do with other guys.
Ouran and Hana-Kimi are both adorable Mangas about a girl disguised as a boy, who have to keep their real sex kept quiet. Both mangas are insanely entertaining and funny. They are also exceptionally heartwarming :)
If you liked one of these titles, then you'll probaly like the other. Both begin with a female character in boy's clothes who is mistaken for a boy. Both must hide their gender, but somone('s) discorver the 'he' is actually a 'she'. Both deal with homosexual relationships, but are not big on them. They're both romantic comedys that have obvious male leaders/choices. And both series have a love triangle within them. Trust me, if you like one of these series, you're going to love the other. :)
Both about a girl who cross dresses as a guy. Both are very comical and have similar humor. Both contain cute boys and the heroine falls in love with their sempai
Both Hana-Kimi and Ouran have reverse harem romance setup and quite funny. I would say ~75% of Hana-Kimi is humor. There is more romance in Hana-Kimi than in Ouran, but the main plot lines follow a female pretending to be male and several key characters knowing her true identity. The main heroine in Hana-Kimi is a strong independent young women who are also very kind and great friends to the other main characters. Both tales are heart warming and revolve around school life. Hana-Kimi is highly recommended if you enjoyed Ouran!
Both of the series have gender-bending, romantic triangles, and fun comedy. They're both really great series and Hana-Kimi is highly underrated; I really recommend it.
