Similar in that they both deal with monsters from other dimensions. Alot of action and great animation [drawing] The main character is also one that is "special" which separates him from the rest of the characters.

Rin and Allen are both exorcists and both of them are "cursed" in some way. Both have demon traits and both of them have really awesome powers!
reportRecommended by GothicShadow22
Despite having very different goals, both manga have some similarities. Such as the physical similarities between Ed and Allen as well as the running theme of Good vs Evil. However, D.Gray-man has a "religious" aspect in the manga, while FMA was based upon science and alchemy.
reportRecommended by Akaike
These shounen titles share the following similarities: a prevalent conflict between two organisations; characters who fight using unique abilities; a sense of comradery amongst groups within one organisation; and a rather bleak and gothic setting.
reportRecommended by radiantfire
The weaponry in both series are similar in that they are varied among users and have different degrees of use.
reportRecommended by radiantfire
Both have almost the same kind of traces, aspects and world, besides the "dark" atmosphere they transmit. The action part is the same kind too.
reportRecommended by Buruno
Has to do with hunting and killing evil man-eating spirits and beings that are hiding in among people in various towns and cities

They really remind me of each other. Kors/Akuma... little orphan Teito/little orphan Allen... the church and order... They just really fit with the feeling of each.

Both shonen anime with a goal they must reach while sacrificing many things along the way...
reportRecommended by EmeraldWolfChild
Because it also involve abnormal creature such as demons (akuma), death gods, etc. It also involve a lot of action and comedy in the story. You will love it as well.
reportRecommended by escaflowne080
In both of them there's some kind of organization which fights 'evil' demons, and both characters main have something evil or demonic inside of them.
reportRecommended by Baskerville
Both are pretty mature despite being shounen, have a dark mood, and share the same supernatural/action/super power/drama/comedy genres. The main difference is that Seikon No Qwaser is ecchi.
In both the protagonist is a lovely, white-haired shota boy with a red mark/scar through his left eye (yes, Allen & Sasha almost look like twins) and with a sad, painful past.
Both are great series.
reportRecommended by RenaPsychoKiller
The similarities are crazy. In DGM the Black Order and the Noah fight each other. The Order fights to protect while the Noah fights with ill thoughts in mind. In Karneval, 'Circus' fights the Kafuka (a dark hidden organization that does illegal genetic research) . 'Circus' being the good guys. The way the Noah makes their akuma is in a way similar to how the Kafuka make their Varuga.(Post-humans with special abilities.) The Millenium Earl takes advantage of his victims when the are weak and turn them into his pawns. The Kafuka gives their victims a pill that modifies poor humans into Varuga. To identify read more

If you liked Bleach, you might like this. Both deal with similar concepts, while still being really different. Both great series.
reportRecommended by pnay
While different in aesthetic, both share the general premise of exorcists fighting against demons.
reportRecommended by radiantfire
Both these shounen titles revolve around an organisation that seeks to protect the world from demons and the protagonists who belong to that organisation.
reportRecommended by radiantfire
both protagonist has 1 eye that make them different from the others. Their processing in becoming stronger is really similar There are characters who are twisted in their minds. I'd love that!) Only tokyo ghoul is more gore
reportRecommended by CrazyAddict
The style of the drawing has some similarities. Both are dark, Gothic and very atmospheric. Besides, in both series, main characters suffer strong emotional trauma and thus get involved in the world of evil, which appears to be all around them.
reportRecommended by JDark
Shounens that look and feel very similar. Have a nice balance of action and drama. Heroes have special weapons and abilities (yet are always getting really beat up). Each has an organization that tries to prevent the spread of a terrible infection. Riku is similar to Allen in the later chapters of D.Grayman.
reportRecommended by IceAndCream
Strange creatures, a person who control them, mysterious organization, abilities to fight with these monsters
reportRecommended by aroum
Both have a boy who is an weapon : Allen for DGM and Kei for RB, they are a white hair. Ambiance are sames : dark. Sames adventures with mechanic's failures...
reportRecommended by Cainael
They both fight evil demons, both sometimes have a lot of blood, and D. Gray-man reminds me of Hellsing. Also, both have a vampire who is a hero. (D. Gray-man a little later on)
reportRecommended by Slyphoria
near and allens relationship and shit is similar to sukuna and yujis except near isnt anywhere near as chaotic or evil allen gets marked as a traitor to kill like yuji when he injested sukuna curse spirits are created from humanity like the akumas are

-Both are action shounen manga that involves demons and humans. -They both have fun sets of characters -The main characters are pretty similar-kind, strong, determination, protective, empathetic
reportRecommended by anpanman13430
Both mangas have really intricately drawn characters that have a unique character design and distinct conflicting personalities. They also both deal with themes of the supernatural and saving people from 'darkness'. The plots both consist of someone who wishes to help people who have the same problem as them in a sense whilst working alongside people with powers.
reportRecommended by bigbananagorawr
both mc are literally the same frfr white/gray hair missing arm thats replaced by a weapon one eye also replaced suffers alot because of a dude that hes totally not gay for edgy past thats full of suffering killed his father figure who raised him both have a flying mascot companion
reportRecommended by Mei-o_Scarlett
Both the main characters have a special power similar to each other, and also have a secret about their past. Plus their both amazing to read.
reportRecommended by VoltCollector
Though the stories in themselves aren't really similar, the main characters cross over nicely. Allen Walker is like Shion with the scar on the same side of his face, brown hair which turned white after a near death experience, and his happy, innocent demeanor despite what he's been though. Kanda Yu is similar to Nezumi with his bluish-black hair always worn in a ponytail (though longer), his irritation at how naive the main character is, his exceptional ability to fight, and his unknown origins.
reportRecommended by CatHime1
This two manga had a story to be a great exorcists and those two manga had a great fight and had a same theme for Shounen and even had a sad past for the main characters.
reportRecommended by qKhayrin
This manga just gives me the same feeling. The main characters both join an organisation. They both have a deep past which they don't completely show you. Both main characters are becoming stronger and ''unlock'' powers they already have which they are unaware of . If you like one of them than you definitely like the other one. D.Gray-Man is in my opinion a bit deeper.
reportRecommended by Yexel
D. Gray-man and Monochrome Factor are similar because they both deal with fighting demons, and each character has their own story (unlike a lot of mangas and animes that just focus on only one character). They are both a good read, and if you liked one, then you'll probably like the other.
reportRecommended by FoxIsSilver
Both series revolve around calming restless spirits; DGM is more spiritually based whereas ENS is more sci-fi (although it does also have spiritual elements). Both series also feature an orphaned protagonist who joins an organisation to add meaning (Allen for family, and Shinra to protect others) as well as a wide cast of funny and loveable characters.
reportRecommended by vxnderground
If you like the dark and depressing mood of Shingeki no Kyojin (underdog heroes trying to battle monsters much stronger than they are), then D.Gray-man runs along the same tile. Both have main characters constantly trying their best to defeat the almost immortal villains. And all the deaths around them...
reportRecommended by bakahaido
Heroes and villains of both manga operate in groups, that they perceive (almost) like their families, and some characters in opposite factions are somehow linked on a personal level. Both manga have a very good character design, while their fight scenes are not always easy to read. Their general art style is particular, a bit gothic and steampunk (though Smokin' Parade is also gory and a bit disturbing).
reportRecommended by astrogonza
Placed in a pseudo-historical Victorian period, both deal with the resurrection of the dead and one person with the same abilities than them wanting the destroy them all. They have an important religious and gothic background.
reportRecommended by BlindNoldor
They have a good balance of humor and drama. The characters all have sad and painfull past and the characters all joined the organisation for a certain purpose. The Tokei uniforms and the Order's uniform are alike. I'm sure if u like one you'd like the other.
reportRecommended by Addicer_xx
- Humans will use their powers to fight against "evil creatures" that are trying to bring despair and death to the earth. - MC has a really fast evolution, I mean, doesn't take many chapters in their training, and that's because they have an innate power. - Strong heroines. - The scenery in the battles are also very similar: lot of destruction and only in few panels to understand what's going on. - Both highly recommended!
reportRecommended by Kuroneko-nyan
Pupa is way more gore-rish than DGM but I felt some similar psychological vibe, especially in the later chapters of DGM People struggling with a change in body/mind, different or old and forgotten personalities and so on
reportRecommended by Kat0211
Idk what to say here but these two do give the same vibe to me. When I started reading Marry Grave I instantly felt like when i was reading to D.Gray-man. I'm too lazy to explain but trust me they are really similar and you'll like them if you liked the other one.

The late 1800s, chosen vessels, exorcism and time-transcending love, D.Gray-man and Donten ni Warau share many same themes and feel very similar despite one being shounen and the other shoujo. Both manga have action and dark themes but also bits and pieces of hilarious humor here and there to lighten the atmosphere. Also, the art styles are somewhat similar; both manga are created by very talented women.
reportRecommended by tameiiki
I think the two of them give a similar feel. D. Gray-man has a bit more comedy and Tista is a little on the darker side, and Tista is wayyy shorter the D. Gray-man (it's completed at 9 chapters) but they are really similar. The main characters are both people with hard pasts (It's just that Tista doesn't remember hers) that fight and kill for justice. Allen and Tista both have a special eye. In both stories, the main characters watched their parents die and that becomes their motive for becoming who they are today. Both mangas have a character that is cheerful and supports read more

Zone is essentially a pilot manga for D.Gray Man. While it differs in many aspects, all the important parts are there. Character backgrounds and interactions are somewhat different compared to D.Gray Man, but their personalities are very consistent between the two manga. There are differences in plot and worldbuilding which means that Zone is not actually a D.Gray Man prequel, and so it can be read at any point before, during or after reading D.Gray man.
reportRecommended by AldarionT
Body-to-weapon modification, light haired more sympathetic MC paired with more aggressive, out for revenge dark haired swordsmen. Uniforms at work and mysterious higher orders. Fluid, beautiful art and action. (the artstyle.. isn't .. that different? Especially late D.Gray-man).
reportRecommended by yubarii
In this series, the protagonist is somewhat related to the antagonist. There is the existence of good and evil organization that continues to oppose each other due to its ideals. They both hunt for the special items which provide them abilities and of course its compatible owner. If you want to read a story that is quite similar to D.Dray-man, then it doesn't hurt if you try this manga.
reportRecommended by ciaorawr
Both stories include a bit of humor and violent/dark theme. They have some sort of formed "organization" where they have missions to kill the "evil" for the greater good and these characters can acquire powers/abilities by magical entities. The difference is that Akame ga kill! is a little more graphic and disturbing.
reportRecommended by Sath
-Organisations fights and against monsters -People have special attributes/abilities -MC is good at gambling and has white hair
reportRecommended by Kat0211
Having something (shadow in Hangyaku, akuma in DGM) that can take over a body, some mysterious enemy that creates/initiates this taking over. Main character fights against that. Main character pretty badass.
reportRecommended by flameshaft
They remind me of each other... aragamis = akuma anti-akuma weapons = anti-aragamis weapons exorcist = G.E. main character has a problem with his left eye... cursed = patch
reportRecommended by Faisa_Dragon
The Two Storys have the same idea of a soul turning into a monster, also the fact the main character is mysterious in the start of the manga
reportRecommended by Natsuko
Both have very well developed characters with deep personalities (Kanda's attitude toward others being similar to Haine's and Badou's relationship), both have great fights and a plot full of sadness and despair.
reportRecommended by Rimona
Replica instantly reminded me of D.Gray-Man for so many reasons. Firstly, both series are about an organization composed mostly of young boys (Black Order/Cards) that fights against inhuman creatures which endanger the mankind (Akuma/Toy). Both have as the main villain an evil inventor/earl who is responsible of the attacks put into action by the above said creatures. Also, these manga share the same mood, aesthetics, and quirky, clown-like style, with dark/gothic elements, unusual weapons, extravagant setting, strange objects, etc.
reportRecommended by RenaPsychoKiller
Their plots are so similar it hurts. Both manga involve a group of teenagers whose mission is to kill akuma (demons). The characters have super powers to fight against those creatures, and the latter have the ability to possess corrupted humans and turn them into new akuma. The main difference is that Blaze's protagonists are kunoichi (female ninja), while DGM's are (mostly) male exorcists. DGM is also much longer. That aside, both are shounen manga with nice art and plenty of action.
reportRecommended by RenaPsychoKiller
Shonen battle manga, young boy with super powers fights against evil organization, some friends become enemies, enemies becomes friends, similar abilities; in D. Gray-man they use innocence to form their weapons, in Deadman Wonderland they use their blood.
reportRecommended by AfterGlow
Both are about exorcists fighting demons and use heavy Christian imagery as set dressing to tell a larger narrative. Also, both have heavy themes of dealing with trauma.
reportRecommended by ruinedshadows
Both these shounen action titles revolve around male protagonists who seek to destroy demons despite being affiliated by them through blood or body part.
reportRecommended by radiantfire
Both have incredibly detailed art, and involve complex looking and insanely terrifying enemies in an alternate version of reality.
reportRecommended by kickass331
Both are about devils/akumas and the situation of both main characters (Idamaria and Allen) are similar.
reportRecommended by gelento18
Both have a dealing with demons... Not to mention a lead girl who helps the protagonist the series (and in the end you wanna pair them up XD)
reportRecommended by EmeraldWolfChild
Both of them are stories of an organization that fight against supernatural beings ( D.G-M has Akuma that take over people and D E has Angels that take over people ) and they are the only people who can fight against them .
reportRecommended by DarknessAngel
In both manga there are wariors who can use similiar things. For D.Gray-man exorcists can use the innocents to fight, for Kagijin, kagijins can use the keys. Keys are more similiar to parasite type of innocents what a weapon coming from the user's body. In both manga, kagijins and exorcists are being used by organizations.
reportRecommended by -Hysteria-
In both Trace and D. Gray-Man, there are the heroes, in Trace it's the "Trace"s and in D. Gray-Man it's the Exorcists, and monsters in Trace there are the "Trouble"s and D. Gray-Man has Akuma. Both are very similar in a sense that mutant people are fighting demon-like creatures.
reportRecommended by Ashido2518
Both are Shonen Jump manga that deal with death. Also, they are both dark and gothic.
reportRecommended by malvarez1
Both are shounen mangas by female mangaka, so they have a similar aesthetic. And the main male characters are all really nice-looking. Both are fantasies, with lots of action and comedic moments. They deal with strong moral topics. The male leads fight monsters in accordance with their own principles (Allan saving souls of akuma, Yuusha not killing or harming monsters). Most noteable difference is that Superior has a female lead.
reportRecommended by IceAndCream
Well, they are both fantasy Shonen Jump manga where the protagonists exorcise evil spirits and ghosts and demons. And they both have similar humor scenes.
reportRecommended by malvarez1
The art is a bit similar, Arago and Allen both have "strange" arms, and there's this "don't hurt my friends or you'll pay" type of girls (aka Rio and Lenalee). Also, the police are like the black order, and there's this guy who dislikes the main character. Also, they deal with supernatural foes and have tragic pasts. and the main charas have something "dark" within them.
reportRecommended by Sunbloom
Plotwise, both series start off light and fluffy, but all of a sudden become dark and angsty after the story picks up; however, I would say the most similar thing between the two is the characters. In D. Gray Man, you have Allen, who is rather easy-going but fiercely dedicated to his mission when need be. His counterpart in Tsubasa would be Syaoran, who is an all-around friendly guy, but when it comes to the princess, he can be a little overprotective. Lenalee cares about her friends a lot in D. Gray Man, and Sakura does the same in Tsubasa. Lavi is the jokester who read more

Both have exorcists in it. Good looking characters. They give a similar feel. Both are about demons and humans and how they should be living peacefully (but they are not)

Both involve the main characters fight a common enemy. In D-Gray-Man it's Akuma, in Dragon Eye they fight Dracules. Both manga have organizations, which the main characters are members of. Oh, and both manga are very good.

Not going to lie, I connected D.Gray-man with Magi-Labyrinth of Magic many time. Why? Well I'll get more in depth with that later. D.Gray-man is about a guy name Allen Walker and how he joins an organization that destroys beings known as Akuma. Allen like most protagonist, possesses something that makes him extraordinary than the others. Magi-Labyrinth of Magic is about a boy name Aladdin who goes on an adventure to explore the world. As he explores the world, he meets many new people and discover something that he never knew about himself. In these two fantastic manga, both Allen and Aladdin go on an unforgettable adventure. read more

Gothic setting and art, bishies, action alongsides whit a bit of gore/Blood are things that make Vassalord and D-Gray.Man similiar. Vassalord is Shounen-Ai, but it doesnt mean it doesn't have a plot. They are both very good reads too.
