Here's a couple of slightly old pictures of my manga. I have a few more on my profile. I'm in the process of packing all this, which is nothing short of a nightmare. I might take a picture at maximum mess. ;-p![]() ![]() An (expensive) attempt to fill in some Racish manga holes. Some Shimizu Reiko manga snuck in though. Great finds! ![]() |

Currently editing this post as you read. This is just a test. These are pictures of my entire collection of my comics, anime, and other commerical products related to them, as well as a few pictures of my room. I organized this using layers of spoilers because there are a lot of pictures and I made a lot of comments. So if they were all laided out at once, it would take time for many computers to load (mine in particular). Of my collection, I keep it in chronological order according to the date of first publicaton of a series unless indicated otherwise. Once when my collection grows a lot, I would be able to go through my library and see the evolution of manga, anime, and all other comics (though my massive collection of comic strips are taken out). My collection doesn't just include manga, but also European and North American comics too--which I also posted here. When I learn Japanese, I will rebuy everything that I have in Japanese and sell the English copies that I have to offset the cost. The same goes for the European comics that I have for French. The layout everything is in chonological order from left to right, bottom to top. Also, if there is a title and no voluem indication, that means there was only one volulme complete in America. I do consider myself a somewhat of a collector because I have quite a bit of rare, exspensive, and out of print stuff. So I try to keep everything that I have in as close to new as possible while still being able to read them. I am getting a little worried about the condition of some of them because whenever I pull a book out, the other books tend to fall and knock others over (especallyl the Akira, Moebius, and Bone books). Comics Manga 1968-1980 ![]() The Pushman and Other Stories - Yoshihiro Tatsumi Abandon the Old in Tokyo - Yoshihiro Tatsumi Good-Bye - Yoshihiro Tatsumi Red Colored Elegy - Seiichi Hayashi Buddha vol. 1 - Osamu Tezuka Akira vols. 1-6 all (Dark Horse Publication) - Katsuhiro Otomo Notes: Just a few days ago I bought Katsuhiro Otomo's collection of early works,Memories of Her... and I just got it. So here it is: ![]() 1982-1997 ![]() Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind vols. 1-7 all - Hayao Miyazaki Even a Monkey Can Draw Manga vol. 1 - Kentarou Takehuma & Koji Aihara. Note: volume 2 & 3 were never published in English. Blue Spring - Taiyo Matsumoto Kare Kano omnibus (volumes 1-3) & volumes 4-10 - Masami Tsuda Between the Sheets - Erica Sakurazawa Blue - Kiriko Nananan. Note: The book is in the center. Notes: My friend is borrowing my copy of The Walking Man by Jiro Taniguchi and Tekkon Kinkreet by Taiyo Matsumoto. I don't know when I will get them back though. 1997-1999 ![]() Great Teacher Onizuak vols. 1-25 all - Tohru Fuijisawa Uzumaki vols. 1-3 all - Junji Ito Note: My friend is also borrowing my omnibus edition of Azumanga Daioh 1999-2008 ![]() Tokyo Zombie - Yusaku Hanakuma Sexy Voice and Robo - Iou Kuroda Yukiko's Spinich - Frédéric Boilet Mariko Parade - Frédéric Boilet & Kan Takahama Monokuro Kinderbook - Kan Takahama Japan as Viewed by 17 Creators - an anthology of various alternative Japanese and French artists and writers. Me and the Devil Blues vols. 1-2 - Akira Hiramoto Solanin - Inio Asano Travel - Yuichi Yokoyama Note: I just bought a copy of Secret Comics Japan and it is in the mail. Franco-Belgian Comics Moebius ![]() Note: For some of these, there are no real good discriptions on the internet. All of my Moebius comics are placed separately from all the other European comics beacuse the were published by Epic Comics with a number on them. All of these were only printed once in the late 1980's and early 1990's and are now very rare and are becoming quite exspensive. So I keep them in slipcovers and try to keep them in as best condition as possible. I have almost all of the volumes and the only one that I am missing is Moebius 1/2: The Early Moebius. It easily the rarest and most exspensive of all of them. Already I could sell my Moebius collection for hundreds of dollars to a collector and if I am able to get a hold of the only one missing, then I would be able to sell all of it for at least a thousand or more. Moebius 0: The Horny Goof and Other Underground Stories Moebius 1: Upon a Star Moebius 2: Arzach Moebius 3: The Airtight Garage Moebius 4: The Long Tomorrow Moebius 5: The Gardens of Aednea ![]() Moebius 6: Pharagonesia Moebius 7: The Goddess Moebius 8: Mississippi River Moebius 9: Stel - Note: As you probably can see, my copy is different from the rest of the series because it is larger and wouldn't fit in the slipcover. I don't know why, it just is. ![]() The Incal vols. 1-3 (Epic Comics publication) - Alejandro Jodorowsky & Moebius. Note: This is the original version as it was originally published. Avoid the Humanoids republication for they recolored everything to make it look more modern (and it sucks). Note: The copies of Arzach, The Gardens of Aedena, and Pharagonesia are extra copies that I have. When I get around to it, I will sell them on ebay (like I did with my extra copy of Akira vol. 3. Enki Bilal ![]() As of July 18 when the pictures were taken, the only other European comics that I have are those of Enki Bilal. Volumes 1&2 of Joann Sfar's The Rabbi's Cat are currently in the mail as I just bought them a few days ago. Unlike Moebius, I found all of these in an obscure corner that no one notices of a local comic book shop, so I saved quite a bit of money rather then buying them at outragous prices on the internet. Bilal is easily one of the most impressive artist I have come across, up there with Katsuhiro Otomo and Taiyo Matsumoto. I really want the The Nikopol Trilogy but it is ridiculous exspensive. The Chaos Effect - Pierre Christin & Enki Bilal. Note: This actually contains two stories, The Black Order Brigade and The Hunting Party. Townscapes - Pierre Christin & Enki Bilal. Note: This contains three stories: The Carnival of Lost Souls, Ship of Stone, and The Town that Didn't Exist. North American Comics 1979-1998 ![]() Compared to manga, I really don't have much of North American works. I don't really like superheros too much (with the exception of Frank Miller and Jeff Loeb's Batman). Cerebus will take me years to complete as I have been reading the first volume for the past month and still am only a little of haveway through. The Contract With God Trilogy - Will Eisner. Note: This contains three books, The Contract With God, A Life Force, and Dropsie Avenue. It is the great American Graphic Novel and one of the best things I have ever read. Will Eisner's New York: Life in the Big City - Will Eisner. Note: This contains 4 books: New York, The Building, City People Notebook, and Invisible People. The culmination of Eisner's lifelong observations of New York, the city he was born it and lived his entire life till his death. Not as good as The Contract With God Trilogy but still way better then most of what is published now. V For Vendetta - Alan Moore & David Lloyd Cerebus The Ardvark vol. 1 - Dave Sime The Sandman (Absolute Editions 1-4) - Niel Gainman & Various Artists. This is the absolute greatest comic ever (though followed slightly by Nausicaä). 1994-2005 ![]() Bone vols. 1-9 (Scholastic color) - Jeff Smith. This is the only edition that is colored (quite nicely too compared to the Incal recoloring) and even the original was in black and white. From Hell - Alan Moore & Eddie Campbell Jimmy Corrigan: The Smartest Kid on Earth - Chris Ware. This is very experimental, but not as much as the more underground/art comics in Kramers Ergot. The Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Kim Deitch Blankets - Craig Thompson I just bought C.F.: Powr Mastrs vols. 1&2 and are in the mail. It is by Chris Forgues (aka CF). My comics in their natural position ![]() ![]() ![]() Before I cleared off my shelves and put my comics up there, I had them on the ground and cluttered in with the rest of my books. Anime Ghibli and 1984-1995 ![]() Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind - I am scared to watch this after reading the manga because I will undoubtible compare the too and end up hating this. Laputa: Castle in the Sky Whisper of the Heart Princess Mononoke Macross: Do You Remember Love - This is an illegial copy (since it has never been liscened outside of Japan) that I got for almost nothing in Japantown in San Francisco. Ghost in the Shell Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex Neon Genesis Evangelion - Greatest show ever (nothing else needed) Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death & Rebirth Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion 1998-2005 ![]() Serial Experiments Lain - It was much cheaper without the box Haibane Renmei - Yoshitoshi ABe is my second favorite person in anime (right behiend Miyazaki (obviously) and Anno). RahXephon - This box set also contains the movie. The series was a too pretentious for my taste. Kino's Journey Texhnolyze - This is the special lenicular set, but the stiky tabs fell of after a few months. My Other Anime ![]() Patlabor - The original 1988 ova's on VHS that I got for less then a dollar at my library. ![]() All of my copied DVD's. In there is the entire series of Rorouni Kenshin, Witch Hunter Robin, Last Exile, and a few others (a lot of movies) that I don't want to go through them all. The CD on the top is a character CD that I got with my Utena statue. Almost all of my copied DVD's came from copying DVD's from my friends and the local libraries. My Room Posters Nausicaä ![]() I bought this off of ebay from Japan. Since is extremely rare and quite expsensive. I had a poster of Haruhi Suzumiya, but after I got this framed I gave it to him. My Neighbor Totoro ![]() Got this WonderCon for a few dollars. Cowboy Bebop ![]() Also got this at WonderCon for a few dollars. Revolutionary Girl Utena ![]() Neon Genesis Evangelion ![]() Not my favorite character, but the posters of Shinji that were at WonderCon were gay. Personally all of the fan-guys destroys much of what I like in her. Death ![]() Yeah I know that it this not a poster nor is it anime or manga. I have a poster of this, but it is still in the tube it came in because I realized I don't have any wallspace to put it up on. But I will in college and I plan to get it framed. I just have to have a poster of one of my favorite characters from my favorite comic. It is painted by Moebius. Everything Else Books ![]() My Desk ![]() My Dresser Area ![]() Above My Bed ![]() More Posters ![]() |

Ohh man, Pierre_Bezukhov, you have Even a Monkey Can Draw Manga! I am so jealous, I tried best I could to find it at Otakon, but no luck (did find the first volume or Phoenix though, so I'm not totally heart broken :P). |

Almost 90% of everything that I have I got off the internet. As for Phoenix, here is all of them packaged together. Though not the best value, if you shop around you can save a lot of money (ex. I got GTO 1-25 for only $100). As for the alternative manga such as Even a Monkey Can Draw Manga, it is highly unlikely that you will be able to find a copy of it in a store or at a convention. In a store, search around in the local comic stores and ask to see what they have in the back. All alternative and underground comics are extremely rare and the only place that they would show up is the Alternative Press Expo. |

@shinkeikaku: I always like looking at your collection even though I've already seen it before. I sooo want an entire room dedicated to my anime/manga stuff!!!! @Gucha: LOL. Well, I never specified that it had to be physical books so in that case, I guess scans would count as well xD @Pierre_Bezukhov: Your collection of Akira still looks brand new! I got mines used so it doesn't look as good but it's still very readable. OMG, you have all of Nausicaa too *jealous* You have some nice posters in your room too. You should really frame all of them - that's what I do with all of my posters/artwork. I can't stand the thought of sticking pins or transparent tape on them just to stick them to the wall = / I haven't updated my manga pics is almost a year now so nothing from me at this time xD |

These pictures are sort of outdated. I will update the ones linked on my profile, but not these (though those aren't updated yet either, just waiting for RAW to come). |

I've taken new pics! I'll post just the manga ones here, but to see my anime, my overall setup, part of my games collection, and a picture of me and my cat as well, please look at my latest profile blog:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I should note the following are missing from my pic because they are at loan, either to myself at the dorm, or to a friend: Cardcaptor Sakura 4-6 (1st ed), Maison Ikkoku 7-15, and the rest of Phoenix. Any other holes in the series are real. And another question likely to show up: why is there a random still wrapped Thunderbirds set in there? Well, I had no room for it elsewhere and it's a B-day/Xm-as gift so it will remain wrapped until December. The following pic is my "to sell" pile, please feel free to inquire about anything here: ![]() Also, my spare copy of Banana Fish 1st ed vol 3 belongs here too, but I felt bad putting it there because, well, it is Banana Fish, but I am selling that one particular volumes as well. |

You probably have one of the best Tezuka collections in the US, the only thing you're missing are more volumes of Black Jack. Also the layout of your shelves is disorienting me. It seems that you took some off the shelves, replaced them with others and then took another picture. Pictures 1&6 (Dororo and Astro Boy are throwing me off in particular) and pictures 2&3 (Uzumaki this time). Thats a lot of manga you are selling. I would sell in bulk by series on ebay. I really need to update mine, but it will be a while before some stuff from England comes. |

That's probably because they're all double deep, but not necessarily all the way across (which explains why Uzumaki was clearly seen in two pictures and the same with Dororo). And yeah, I do want more Black Jack, but it can certainly wait for a Vertical sale to occur at TRSI (those things are damn expensive). I also want to get the rest of Astro Boy (I've only up to vol 16, I tend to throw them onto the end of TRSI orders to avoid paying shipping). |

I really like your manga collection classicalzawa! It's filled with lots of little hidden gems of manga and in my opinion, quality always wins over quantity = ) |

sakura_r0se said: I really like your manga collection classicalzawa! It's filled with lots of little hidden gems of manga and in my opinion, quality always wins over quantity = ) Yep! But I have both! But getting hidden gems means buying more manga online than in the store, stupid Borders seems to have stopped carrying Kekkaishi...I also hit up used bookstores, it's where I got volume 6 of Akira (for a mere $7, who cares if I don't have the rest yet? They're re-releasing them anyway). I bought some stupid stuff when I was younger, but oh well. I noticed that vol 1 of Drifting Classroom got chopped off my to sell pile, I got them brand new for free off a friend so there's v 1,5, and 8. Since I got some of the "to sell" pile free, those I won't ask much more than $5/3 manga and the shipping for personally. Banana Fish vol 3 is usually pretty difficult to find, but I got that particular volume as a gift then later replaced it with a 2nd ed of vol 3 that I found later, this is a good chance to get BF v 3! Even if it is 1st ed! |

My Collection Here's my collection, warning its kind of big. I'm hoping to get a better set up, soon so I don't have to make content with the small book shelf I have now. I have a few vols, missing so its not as big as it usually is. |
What you saw at the castle on that windy night ,and what you saw at the bridge last night .. how I smiled, never utter a word to anyone. If you dare speak .. I will find where you are .. And I will kill you. Kill you. I will rip you apart .. crush your bones And eat your flesh.. I will drink your blood. I will .. devour you. |

Do you think sending enough emails/letters to Viz might accomplish this ever? Oh and they should do Viz Bigs for PSME and Banana Fish too. Do you have any pics of how they are on your shelves? I like seeing how things are arranged spatially too (mine obviously are not in alphabetical order or any real order other than "it fits", lol) |

No I don't. I used to, but my computer got reformatted because of a nasty virus and now I only have those ones. When I take the next batch of pictures (which I do not know when that will be), I'll make sure to get a picture of the shelf as well (yeah I have one massive shelf). :) I stopped talking pictures of my shelves because it was such a pain to constantly update the picture. With the way I do it now I just have to take one picture of the manga and update it gradually as I get more. XD |

Honestly out of all the manga I own I'm most proud of getting all the volumes Kindaichi Case Files that were released by Tokyopop. That took forever and I got volumes from all over the place. By the time I started to collect it, the title was getting hard to find. I got stuff from cons, and stores here and there but for the long time there was one last volume I needed and could not find. My friend called me up while she was on a trip and was like do you need X volume of Kindaichi? I wasn't sure because I was at work, but she bought it anyway. It turns out that it was the volume I need. To bad it was one of the titles Tokyopop canceled. I'm very glad you found all of Kodocha though! |

:3![]() The pride and joy of my collection is Banana Fish! And I was a little low on anime room (kinda sorta not really) and those 5 series got shoved over here, but whatever, it's cool! Maison Ikkoku and Kodocha are sources of pride for me and my collection too as they are highly favored series of mine. ![]() Yeah, I just liked how the top shelf on this picture is all blue. Other than putting PSME front and center due to being so highly favored, the other ones got there due to having blue spines. Still missing GTO 23 here, dammit! ![]() ![]() ![]() Whew, now here are some oversized manga! Damn things, forcing me to keep them all together. ![]() ...and yeah, more oversized, and three normal sized Battle Royale equal to ultimate volume 4, gotta keep the family together! ![]() ![]() ![]() The next three pictures (and this one) are all of series that I'm collecting or semi-actively collecting, the main shelves all have series that are complete or two volumes away or less from being complete with adequate room for them. No idea where these guys are gonna go when they're complete. ![]() ![]() |
