THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Probably the most interesting part of this episode was the fact that Mazinger can damage itself with its own weapons. Kouji will have to be more careful in the future concerning opponents who can reflect back his attacks.

BTW - Is the Baron really dead?

BTW II - Tsubasa is quite the cold bitch, isn't she?

that final scene is going to give me nightmares

EDIT: Oh and Kenzo is so badass, just check the scene where he plops down on the leather armchair despite being a hologram.

Who's voice came out of Gamia that the Inspector could recognize?
Also, where was Kenzo at Bardos Island?
It broke my heart to see Super Alloy Z being damaged by the rust hurricane. That is not supposed to happen!!!

Baron Ashler should not be dead right now, besides he/she was slashed by Sensei earlier on and survived LOL...I'm assuming the same will happen now.

This episode was made in super Z alloy. Epic.

In every age, in every place, the deeds of men remain the same.

Ugh, when did Imagawa become such a hack director? Both G Gundam and Giant Robo had some really good genuine emotional moments with ample build up and impact. This, on the other hand, was the type of lame, half-assed bullshit that I expect from some moe show. Not only could anyone see it coming from light years away, especially since Imagawa phoned it in at the start of a previous episode, but there wasn't anything compelling about it in the least unless you're the type of person who can become emotionally attached to anything you set your eyes on. If this is the type of stuff I'm going to get by giving this series another chance then I'm just wasting my time.

Don't you get it? No one gives a shit about Lorelei's fate or Shiro's tragedy. There are loads of fake emotions in that arc.

In which case there sure was a small ton of time wasted on it that could have been better spent.

The biggest talking point of this episode is Tsubasa's change from "oh i'm a weak woman, protect me" in episode 14 to "HAHAHAHA I'm the one who killed you bitch".

Which was equally as boring and predictable.

Boring? That's your opinion. Predictable? How? Because I didn't see it coming. What were the indications that she would turn like that in episode 15?

Maybe because she's Tsubasa? She has been manipulative and cutthroat throughout the series. I would've found it far more odd had she actually cared about whatshisface in the least. Not to mention that Imagawa is notorious for having characters put on an act to gain their true objective (some for extremely lengthy amounts of time).

I think my opinion of Steve was my opinion of Imagawa 3 episodes ago. Not a bad episode, just very predictable.

And Baron NEVER dies, so he's sure to come back.

The ending with the giant half robot face of Lorelei reminded me of End of Evangelion.

Since the beginning it was mentioned that Tsubasa killed Dr. Hell in addition she had an affair with Dr. Juuzo Kabuto's son + having a child with him (Shiro) leaving her fiancé (Heinrich Stroheim) she also killed(?) Kenzo Kabuto, her husband and last but not least she also killed Stroheim... Damn talk about Femme Fatale. Damn!

The Kabuto mily or rather Nishikiori soap-opera coming in the middle of a rather okay (and emblematic) manga story was kind of boring.

4/5

@requiett I thought I was imagining things. XD
(but it makes sense, given Lorelai's origin and role.)

Though to be fair, the manga has the robot human head also broken like that (but not the exact "Evangelion pose")

This one right here was on point! The backstory, the pathos, and that sick fight all come together to become something highly entertaining.
I'd like to make a JoJo reference about Stroheim and his machine guns, but I'm guessing that's already been done.
