| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- DHL brought me BD 2 from.amazon.co.jp yesterday. The Survival War OVA is great! Even more mizugi fanservice than Water War LOL even some apron service. Rations, so funny... Cute, well done and with some tank information afterwards to make it 20 minutes long. |

| So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old? I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them? I wonder how long people would put up with this. As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |

| ^As far as I know, Hiryuu is still doing the specials(except the Yukari Tank Corners) but they'll release it whenever they like to release them, I guess. So far, there's AK for now(they are doing the specials including the Yukari Tank Corners). |

| Entertaining at least. US ration = Worst ration? What the hell do they feed their soldiers? And that ending... They actually went for a real training camp O.o I thought that they're just... camping for fun. EDIT: Forgot to mention. The first years are adorable as always |

| I wouldn't have figured out that spam monty python reference without have visiting this thread. I appreciate it so much more now having watched that youtube link. xD I actually didn't really enjoy this OVA much until they basically started talking about rations. The panning still shots of the girls in swimsuits was kinda lame for me. x.x Anyways, once it got to the food part I actually found it really interesting. Seeing them put together the kebabs, heat the rice, and stir fry the veggies and then eat was pretty engrossing. The tent part for me wasn't really that interesting..maybe it's just cuz we had a different way of making tents. Btw MRE's aren't really that awlful. They're basically like eating microwavable food essentially. Anything with the word beef in it is especially good. My favorites were practically any menu that said Beef in the title or Chicken, from most favourite to least favourite, Beef Stew, Thai Chicken, Beef Teriyaki, Chicken /w Salsa, Spaghetti w/Meat Sauce, Chili Mac, Beef /w Mushrooms, Chicken /w Noodles, Chicken Tetrazzini, Pasta /w Vegetables, Jambalaya, and Pot Roast. For whatever reason a lot people really liked the Beef Patty but I hated it. Also a lot of people hated the Jambalyay and the Pasta /w Veggies but I loved them. The Pasta /w Veggies was considered a Vegetarian MRE and it always came with like extra fruit pouches in it, pinapple, pears...zomg <3 When in Jibouti, Africa, some troops did manage to trade rations from the French...supposedly they come with little bottles of wine. xD That was in 2004 or so. There were also BLUE UN type MRE's to give to people I've seen on boxes and pallets but never opened one myself. I haven't cross-trained much with other forces but I imagine there's a few ppl out there that might've tried other MRE's. =o |
| I liked Mako's "eh?" at the end...that and Mako and Saki sleeping in the river. I don't care how slow the current of the stream is and isn't Mako a very heavy sleeper? If their friends weren't there, they proly would have ended up a good 10 miles downstream before waking up xD |
