Author Yamaguchi Noboru posted on his Twitter that he has been writing Zero no Tsukaima novel while under treatment for the terminal cancer. He disclosed the illness last July and took a surgery last August. He said he lost his hair due to the side effect of the anti-cancer drugs. The side effect of the drugs prevents him from writing for two-thirds of the month and he works slowly during the rest of the month. He said he wondered if it's better to stop writing the novel because he could not work with his full strength but he decided to deliver the novel to the readers since that's the only thing he can do and that's his everything.

He's strong. I respect that. Even though I do want the novels to finish, but sometimes I think it's better for him to rest more.

Yes. Without the author, there is no book. He should rest a bit more, but it's heartwarming to see he really loves his work.

Real dedication right there.
But rest is important too.

Get well.

I respect his dedication and love for his work, truly amazing that even in that situation he continues on writing... But I think he should rest, cancer is too serious to take any risks

My mum had cancer, I know how threatening this illness can be... But she got well, so I believe that Zero's author will be fine soon.

sometimes with being sick....doing something that requires some energy can prove to be quite useful. one does not want the body to give up some of it functions. he probably won't be churning out pages after pages but at least this will keep his mind off his illness.....for a time.

I do not know what to think about this. He should be resting more since the treatment for cancer is arguably more agressive that the cancer itself; but I certainly know that when you're resting while recovering, you feel like you're rotting away if you don't do something.

It's hard not to respect a man who doesn't want a disease like cancer to dictate his existence. My prayers are with him and his family.

What an admirable man. Such dedication is lovely to see.

I hope he gets better soon since his health is the most important thing after all.

A very respectable decision but I would rather have him rest. I think his health is more important than Zero no Tsukaima.

I respect him alot he is very Inspirational and I hope and pray that he will get better. My grandfather had four different kinds of cancer in the last 10 years and beat it every time, Cancer is a horrible disease, it is heartbreaking for the friends and family to watch your loved one battle with it and know you can't do anything to help them. He passed away a little over a year ago.

Even though I've only watched the first series of this show- that is just pure dedication but he needs to be able to recover- I'm sure the fans of his work are more concerned about his health than whether he can continue writing new material for ZnT.
