Also was waiting for Machi's appearance. Guess I'm gonna have to wait until next week to see my favorite female character. <3

Anyways, what an awesome match. Loved how Hisoka used his amputated arm to scratch his shoulder. *lol* Hisoka is so frickin' creepy and badass.

So, can I be the first one to bitch about it?

The censorship and the colorful pattern of the animation are going to destroy the tension of the York Shin arc, which made the arc awesome. While the heavy themes aren't being censored(ex: Gon watching Killua murdering some1 and still being OK with it) the brutality is. And murder immediately brings brutality and blood and severed heads and so on. So how do they avoid it? SPARKLING FREAKING ''blood''. UGH, bullshit.

It's either that, or Hisoka is so powerful that the inside of his arm glows.

Anyway, why would they ever get the idea to air HxH in the morning...? Even Medaka Box is less brutal than this.

You know a show like Bleach would give you a broken arm instead. The sparkles stopped immediately and you just get a severed arm being tossed around with no significant amount of fucks given. Besides you can already see that the art has significantly changed even for Heavens Arena. The violence and the dark themes are still as they are in all adaptations so nvm about them. Also you can see from last week's flashback that the YS arc is going to be different.

If they make things more dark and change the music like you said, then it's cool. But how much will they be able to pull off in the morning? Isn't the morning supposed to air family friendly anime?

I don't have a problem with you being the first to bitch about it, but I just want to point out that there has been a lot of blood throughout the series. Hell even in this episode, yes blood wasn't gushing out of the arm, but Hisoka was bleeding from the mouth where he was punched by Kastro. I don't think Yorkshin is even questionable, we have an idea of how it will be handled from previous episodes. We have an idea of what the dark night time scenes will look like from previous episodes, we know that decapitations aren't a problem (even if they are done through shadow animation) and we know that blood for the most part is not an issues (despite a couple of instances like Hisoka's arm being amputated, the guy from episode 3 who had his arms cut off, and when Hisoka killed those examinees during episode 5 I believe) In my opinion Yorkshin will be fine, despite the
I believe Yorkshin will be fine, if anything it will probably be most similar to the Zoldyck arc which I thought was handled well. Just my thoughts though, you probably won't enjoy Yorkshin if you haven't been to fond of the way the remake has handled thing thus far.

for those complaining about the pace: this fight is a 4-chapter fight in the manga, including Kastro's introduction, that means the pace hasn't slowed down.

A good episode overall, I found no problem with the powder that went out of Hisoka's hand, I mean it's shounen and at least they showed the whole fight.

I think i have myself a new character crush here~ That kastro is pretty cute~ However i dont think he's gonna live long, going by the preview. But i can still hope~! D:

I dont really mind the pixie dust coming out of his arm. Im not one for too much gore in my shows. So it was good it was censored. To those complaining, at least they shows him getting his arm cut off. They could of easily just censored that as well. :/

Can't wait for the next episode~ <3

Madhouse said something about making the York Shin arc a darker so there's still hope.

If that's true than that's alight. Even though this is an anime, I just didn't see the logic in someone emitting a glow after getting injured...unless that's his aura spilling out of his body or something. Anything's better than not having a reason for that.

Overall, good episode (besides the glowing part but meh, no big deal)

Bahaha Edward Cullen has some competition. *shot*

No, seriously, I'm happy they didn't completely mess up this fight. At least he still lost his arm. (And LOL at him scratching his shoulder with his amputated arm like "IDGAF". That's amazing, enough said.) Still, it'll be good to see how they handle the rest of the fight next episode. (And Machi. Oh yesss~)

Otherwise, I enjoyed Killua in this episode. (But, uh, I don't ever not enjoy him. *facedesk*) That shot of him when Kastro commented that his aura said he wanted to fight was brilliant. Incidentally, so was his face after Kastro left LOL d'aww I'm never going to stop loving this kid. *weekly Killua appreciation over*

So yeah, that was good. c: Gon's face sometimes, though! Don't get too excited, you foolish boy. =w=

I still love the way attack names flash up on the screen in combat. Nice feature that other anime ought to adopt. Kind of wish there was a bit more originality though, shadow clone jutsu in my hxh? Why?

Censoring is still questionable, the anime can show blood but they revert back to gold reishi particles?

Oh and Cocco is an awesome emcee.

quite useless to compare the pace with a series that has had major complains due to pacing. Plus not everyone watches bleach, I don't anymore for example.

---

Anyway overall disapointing episode, I don't like the fairy dust. I felt they skipped a lot of dialogue as well so I went and read the manga again to confirm. In the manga hisoka had blood all over his face, there was blood dripping from both ends of the arm, so no it was not sealed up.

*Scenes changed, conversations moved from one location to another.
*Skipped all parts when killua was bitching about the price of the tickets
*Also Gon's reactions to it, "he's a millionaire, listen to him"
*skipped the line when killua said that this was their "fatal confrontation/death match", a hint towards a future death, which makes me wonder if the death is going to happen.
*forgot to bring paper and a pen
*skipped hisoka's thoughts during the fight, that worries me for the spider arc
*the dialogue for the commentator was changed
*the dialogue between Hisoka and kastro was changed
*last but not least, Hisoka shewing on his own arm was removed and changed to something like I now have motivation blabla

but those parts are over. The anime has gone past them and if the anime completely followed the manga, then Hisoka should have been taking bites out of his own arm at the end of this episode, not just a staring contest between him and Kastro. Spoiler for those that have not seen the old series or read the manga below:

I don't really remember the 1999 version, nor have I read the manga at that point, but I did take a look at those 2 chapters fast

and I think watching this show without comparing it to the old ones would be better, especially the negative parts, 'cause you know it's a shonen with a morning slot, another reason is you'd enjoy it more. for me I've forgotten the 1999 version almost completely although I've watched it last summer (I've forgotten all about Kastro for example), and I would say that watching it without comparing or trying to remember anything from the old version is making me enjoy it more.

but as I editted above I think the scene at the end was the scene that was supposed to have some chewing in it, but it did not have any.

What do you expect? If someone is going to do a comparison and try to site all the changes they noticed of course there is going to be some nitpicking. Why don't you try doing a comparison. You too will end up with a list ranging from minor to major differences. Discarding or not mentioning the minor changes would be dishonest.
