Yeah, honestly the Election arc might be my second favorite next to the York Shin arc. Ging is such a jackass lol. Everyone trying to teach him how to be a dad was hilarious, and him not having it lol. He's such a deadbeat.

This was the culmination of all my hatred of the Chimera Ant arc. LMAO

I was talking to Hisoka about what I'd rank this arc. I told him 7.5 before I was finished. Then I realized that I was going easy on it because it was Hunter x Hunter and it doesn't deserve anything lower, but I just can't give this shit a pass. For me it's a 6. That's usually what I give anything that's not particularly bad but that I found really boring. I'm skipping this from now on. I'll watch those two episodes with the Spiders kicking ass and that's it. Crazy that Togashi wasted 8 years of his life on this.

Election arc kicked ass. Now that was more like it. Back to the normal vibe. Some fun moments, a really creative concept (the Alluka idea blew my mind). Motherfuckin Hisoka and Illumi are back and had some of the best stuff ever. All the characters I care about were back. It was like coming up for air after nearly drowning.

It's been 8 years. About as long as the Ant arc lasted. This is poetic. Lol

I ended up liking most of the characters toward the end but it took me a while. I didn't like Korra herself much but the supporting cast ended up being pretty good. I liked the steampunk setting for sure, but sometimes it felt like this show could have been something else entirely. I liked it when it went to places that felt more like in the world of Avatar. The 1920s style stuff with radios was cool and different but it also threw me off the tone for what Avatar felt like it should be. Luckily there are locations that felt more in tune with what Avatar was. There is a city in season 3 that's amazing and was one of my favorite locations in the series. That and Ice Water 7 from the original series were my favorites lol.

I can give you a recap right now. Season 1 was against Amon, the guy who hated benders even though he was a bender himself. Season 2 was the Water Tribe civil war that also had the flashback about the first Avatar and the spirits of light and darkness, Rava which is the avatar spirit that lives on through the generations, and Vaatu, the dark spirt which the brother of Korra's father tried to use to become a Dark Avatar. I'm unsure if you finished season 2 so I won't tell you you it ends. Aside from a couple things, most of this stuff is unessential to the overall plot...because there isn't an overall plot lol. But some things do carry over from season to season.

One Piece

Yeah, I was super impressed with Avatar. I wish America could have more animation like that. It seems to have been popular too since they were able to tell the entire story across 3 seasons without it being cancelled. They had a plan and they stuck to it til the end. It felt very complete. Loved the characters and the relationships. Zuko's sister was something else and I kinda wish she could have gotten a bit more development because she was batshit insane haha. I actually bought all of the comics for my girlfriend and now she is letting me read them. Apparently they continue the story for a bit which sounds cool. But yeah, bravo for Avatar. Hell of a surprise.

I just wish Korra could have been that good. I finished it last week and aside from season 3 it was pretty whatever. The production values were still insane though and the fighting was amazing, but the plot and characters left a lot to be desired. Looks like they didn't have a plan for Korra like they did with Avatar so it didn't really go anywhere. Season 3 rocked though. Zaheer was really good.

Congrats on finishing Dressrosa haha. Soon you're about to see how close the finish line to One Piece is. We don't have that much longer to go dude.

Very good. Dressrosa is my favorite arc in the series thus far. It's got some pacing issues which sounds like it's going to be the norm in the anime from now on, but I'm a bit easier going on that so it didn't bother me much. This was the closest thing to a DBZ arc in One Piece and that's a huge positive for me. Something about the vibe, especially the final battle at the end had that knock down drag-em-out feel that DBZ always had. I've always wanted a fight like that in One Piece and this was it. Helps that Doflamingo is the Freeza of the series too. Best villain in the show by far. He didn't disappoint.

There were a lot of flashbacks in this arc and they're all top notch and some of the best in the series. I think One Piece is the only show where I love and actively look forward to flashbacks haha. Oda always hits it out of the park with that.

You've got quite a bit to watch. Two complete arcs to watch after Dressrosa. Nice!

Dude I am sick about Kobe Bryant right now. As crazy as it sounds, besides the lives of my own family, this is the most shocking and devastating deaths I've seen. It still doesn't feel real and I just can't believe it. Being from LA, the Lakers and himself are deeply rooted in my soul. I was 11 when he debuted in the NBA and even back then I knew there was something special about him. As the years went, back when I played ball myself and wanted to be in the NBA, he was my biggest inspiration, probably even more than Michael Jordan (probably an LA bias to be fair). This is beyond fucked up.

Eureka Seven is my favorite mecha show from the 2000s. It had a couple slow points though. Mainly the first 12 episodes, and then a stretch in the 30s was kinda bad. But the rest of it rocks. I still haven't seen the sequel. Heard it wasn't too great. But it's half the length so I'll give it a shot.

I figured after having a kid your anime days were over haha. It definitely slowed down I see. It's good you can still find some time though. Gotta have some you time every so often.

I've been pretty busy myself with self study, trying to learn web development so I can change careers and get out of banking. It's hard when time is so limited and you're mentally done after a work day. But I gotta do it. But in the meantime I'm trying to find some me time and trying to get back into anime. I was really missing it. I guess I'll never be rid of this hobby haha.

Haha, how long have you been watching E7? I haven't been on your page in forever. Harrison Ford has been very silent lol. Vinland Saga wasn't dormant for that long. Maybe about 2 months. I still gotta finish the second Getter Robo show...shit's been dormant for like 2 years lol

I haven't been following basketball too much anymore lately but I thought after his achilles injury he would be fucked but from what I saw he came back after that and did pretty well. But now it seems like everything is finally catching up with him. Good thing he's calling it quits after this.
