| 2x speed again, I never liked episode 4 (2d half of this episode) that much so we are over that. Big mistake that it wasn't noticed leorio wants to be a doctor... Anyway still LIKE it. Next episode will be the start of the test already!! introducing killua and hisoka yaaaay :3 |
| Holy fast-pace. The more I watch, the more it feels like I'm being herded along the plot and it's no fun. There hasn't really been any time to get to know the characters, so the only investment I have is what I gained from the original series. I was hoping the anime was being redone to draw new fans, but if this is what they're being offered, that isn't/won't be the case at all. One of the things that really bugs me, small as it is, is that they keep blatantly referring to Kurapika as a boy, when it still hasn't been confirmed or denied in the manga. Togashi's made a point not to reveal the gender and I feel it's taking some of the "mystery" and fun (not to mention the androgyny) away from the character. The next episode will really make or break my feelings for this retelling. If the rumors about Hisoka are true... if the voices for Hisoka, Killua and Satotz don't give the right personalities... I'll still watch, yes, because I'm a hopeless optimist, but I'll be checking out. |

| They made it more condensed which makes it more interesting concerning ''boring'' episodes like this 1 (my opinion) (rare are the boring episodes of HXH). The problem could be that they condense everything , some effects of the original series becoming inefficient. |
| I loved the way they cut Leorio's bus ride, it covered the same material in far less than half the time. So far, I'm liking the pace. The original was far too slow. I just hope that this means that they'll skip or condense most of the pointless explanations and battle conversations that made the original so hard to watch. |
| kuripika's new voice sounded a lot familier to celty from durara and a a bit of dalian from dantalian no shoka with a bit of virgo from fairy tail. as it turns out, their all from the same girl. Keilis said: Anyone else notice Leorio looks eerily like Phoenix Wright? WTF BOOOOM!!! |

| Aha. Looks like my memory is really foggy about everything prior to Killua introduction. Great, that will make the re-watch even more enjoyable. Nice episode, the first quiz was pretty neat. The fast pacing is cool, I really like it. |

| I like this episode, much better than the first. I like their take on tricks, and that there was a bit more to it in depth, like it doesn't just end there, it keeps with me. Silence. Pretty cool. The second half did a solid job establishing some character traits. |

| Ahh man, now this is where the series really starts to show its worth. So nostalgic for me, its been so many years since ive watch or read this. Still a bit slower then the manga, but it was handled pretty well. Pretty much everything that the couple explained at the end of the episode is what i wanted to say. Thats another thing that togashi is just a genius at, being able to really dissect all of the details from the episode and explain it thoroughly in such a manner that it doesn't feel that its detached from the over all story or is used as a plot device to go into long explanations. (IE naruto, bleach) I also like how the narrator tells things from a personal point of view. In any case, gons ability of perception is exceptional for someone who is just starting out in the hunter exams. The first test was quite interesting, gon thinks kind of outside of the box, like what if this scenario took place and its very true if your stuck in a situation, the answer bout saving both of them might not be the correct one in all cases and gons ability to see this already shows that he has high observational skills. This was a pretty good episode, though a bit slow, was still entertaining, it still hit all the right merits. Now the true exam begins! |

| I'm enjoying this OP... but the ED is awful. >.< Lol@ Leorio wanting to take the bus. It might seem normal to take it, admittedly, yet I get the feeling he'll be the butt of many future jokes. I would have failed the quiz if I was asked the first question. It feels like I'm being taunted. Kurapika is officially the smart one. Gon's physical strength and observation is acknowledged as super-human. Given the tone of things so far, I'm glad that's so. I'm also glad he wasn't still trying to think of an answer to the quiz because he's clueless. Given that pleasant surprise coupled with the apparent genre-savvy moment when jumping off the ship last episode, and I think we may actually have a sensible protagonist for once. Whoopee. :) This is a world in which monster-people exist. Interesting. I'm liking the pacing. I hope it stays solid in the long run. Good episode overall. |

| This episode was better imo. I liked the test and quite honestly, I am starting to like Gon and Kurapika. Gon is a surprise, he thinks deeply and is very mature for his age. He beats so many shounene protagonists easily in terms of personality, awesome. 7/10 |

| Gon has turned out to be quite a character. He's very observant and introspective, traits I'd have expected to see in Kuripika only. I was expecting Gon to be the hot blooded, screaming, overreacting Eren we've seen in AOT. Pleasantly surprised to say the least. Another enjoyable episode and off to #3! |

| Really liked this episode, can't wait to watch the rest. But I can't stand the opening, it's one of the few openings I have to skip. |
| Another great episode! Gon and Kurapika are both really really great, not so sure on Leorio yet but I'm sure I'll grow to like him more. |
