| You know, even as a Ranka fan, I was surprised by how bad I felt for Sheryl at the end of this one. I'm not sure who I want to come out on top in this triangle anymore... On the other hand, when Michael crashed the party and helped Ranka pull a Basara act, I totally freaked out. AWESOME!! |

| Macross? SDF-1 Macross? How the hell? This whole episode was like a shoot-out/homage to the original Macross... hell it even had Britai, Exedol and Quamzin in it... well sorta... loved the cover of "ai wo oboteimasu ka?" in the end, its probably my favourite of Minmay's songs afterall. |

Though like as many others before me said, I don't really go by the romance side of the show (quite new for me, but I'm too much into this show to fret over the romance details---though I would want for Alto to get with Sheryl ;) Loved that they even put an original Macross song. That song is really something :D |

| I don't mind a little soap opera but by now am getting tired of the girl fight over the main and i just want the show to give us a little more on the big plot about the aliens and the apparent set-up treason of this Zentradis and so on. What the hell is going on? We are in the middle of the show and got 90% love triangle and songs and only 10% of the other plot. I'm getting disappointed now. The comments in the first episodes that this may be better than Gundam 00 now seem like a bad joke. If this show wants to level up is about time it stops being so much focused on being moe and romantic and start showing some plot development beyond the romances and Ranka's music career. |

| I've lost 65% interest in the show...watched 8 episodes 2 days ago, 2 yesterday, 2 today....enough with the pure romance and explain the big plot and stuff...practically half way through and know nothing about the big picture... |

| Some of those Zentradi characters here were references to SDF Macross/DYRL characters, or maybe I'm reading too much into this. Still, a good episode. I'm really liking this show so far. |

| Oh, I was thinking that Ranka's first concert was right on Alto's birthday. Looks like she just had a "regular" day. I wonder if Ranka even attended her classes once xD Ranka's first concert for copies of Britai, Exsedol and Kamujin! Even with large screens projected from...the VF? So, Leon and Grace are behind all that at some level at least...and Brera has yet to make an appearance. I really enjoyed Ranka's song *_* And movements too. Now Sheryl is jealous! let's all stop fighting because an unattractive little girl is singing! you know when someone watched the last (at that time) installment in the franchise without even bothering to check out the original and its themes |

| And there's Interstellar Flight. I was first made aware of the song nearly a decade ago through memes and references floating around the internet, as well as an iDOLM@STER cover by Makoto. Needless to say, I couldn't help but do the kira pose every time, as I knew the song by heart, even though I've never watched Macross Frontier. Actually, Interstellar Flight was a significant influencer in getting me to start on Macross, so I'm glad I finally have context for the song. Or, at least, the song's first use, as I'm sure it'll pop up again in the future. Also, I'm not familiar with the Macross series enough to be able to identify mechas on sight. As a result, this mysterious Macross mecha is even greater of a mystery for me, as I don't know which one this is. |
