pfff....we rarely get a tsundere confess her fellings in the first episodes so how come they don't continue the story that way - like with more development - rather than making random episodes...disappointed with this episode

What on earth was this episode supposed to be about? The story's initial plot seems to have deviated quite a lot.

What is this bullshit + gundam bullshit?! I hate mecha, well, except for TTGL.

So, I'll give it a generous 1/5 and lower the score of the series to 4/10. By being generousness, I mean that my anger could fluctuate the space time from the past to cause "coincidental" probabilities to make a glitch in the MAL system for rating this episode a -1/5.

On the plus side, I was NOT disappointed by it getting worst. Yeah! Keep the shit rolling!

Lol, this ep reminded me of a filler in Bleach, when Ichigo and the others went to the place where Aizen was and there was no one to protect the town.

Gundam+Power ranger robot cliche + characters from a way different genre

If by it's own I would give it a 6 or a 7 IF there wasn't the cliffhanger...
With this series a 1 =.=. The main lead male character became an evil crazy dictator or smth =.=. That isn't even a twist, that is character homicide. Lol.

Lousy storyline but good OP and ED of its own, good voice acting skills and art. Pity it's straight-to-something-like-a-new-show storytelling method and a disastrous ending. The storyline was stupid and cliche too.

O yea, this series really changes directors every ep. This week's director is Kujou Rion.
Wow, surprisingly he directed Asu no Yoichi. That series was quite well made (IMO, when compared to the manga, and by its own).

This episode bummed me out so much that i skipped the whole damn thing... what a waste of time and money. If ppl want a mecha/robot anime they can have their pick out of 100 of other series out there (and good ones too). This looked like the director decided he wants to play out his little robot fantasy a bit, but who cares about how dull it would bee.
And just when i thought that this anime couldn't get any more cliche.. :/
Of course, for all the fans of this genre, or the 'Super Robot' this episode would be enjoyable, so that's the one thing they did well. If you look at it from that perspective.

I think the true relevance of this ep won't become clear in next episode. I'm guessing it's some sort of movie, or something in that fashion.

Either way, this ep gave me a huge "WTF? moment". Considering I'm not at all a fan of mecha, needless to say, this episode both confused and pretty much bored me. There's probably some underlying symbolism here, but why present it through a mecha-parody, rather than be more straight-forward about it?

quoted for truth ^
Man, I tried not to hate this ep, but seriously
What the f** is this? i dont even...
Well, i tried to get the best out of it and all i could come up with was that the director really liked the power rangers series.
Still not dropping it, but it really needs to get back to some sort of plot

I'm amazed that they just didn't come out and say "ORETACHI WO DARE DA OMOTTE YAGARU?" It feels so wrong watching this knowing that they mocked Gundam and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, and yet still didn't even do a decent job of that...

Actually this episode has close to zero relation to any Gundam series or TTGL. However, it is a clear rip off of Combattler V, Dancouga, and GGG (just to name a few of those combination robot series). And of course...the Brave series :)

I agree with your refs as I think those are closer to what it was aimed at as well. I didn't think anything TTGL other than one robot being called Drill. Gundam is probably being associated cuz of popularity and the whole star burst forehead looking thingy, but you see that in so many other mecha series as well.

Only refs I could pull myself was stuff I watched long ago like Voltron (that floating thing Otome was in kinda looked like a lion, the combining, and Blazing Sword haha) and I sorta thought of Dangaioh's Psychic Wave when the Duke was doing that hand attack (just what I thought of, not that the attack resembled it). I can't pull as much refs as you guys cuz I have yet to watch those mentioned myself, haha.

Seriously? A robot episode? No, just no. I gave up after 5 minutes.

Next week's episode needs to make up for this bundle of shit, or else I'm not gonna waste any more of my time on it. At least the other episodes were crap that leant towards a general story.

I had thought the multiple directors thing would produce some interesting results. Unfortunately it's turned a half-decent series into a load of bull.

1/5.

Huh. Well, that was...something? It's hard to know what to make of this episode or this series as a whole. There are bits that I enjoy very much, but there's also a lot of stuff where I'm just left scratching my head and/or rolling my eyes. I can't comment on the novels, but I definitely prefer the manga to this show. It's much more consistent.

I'm not really into Mecha shows so, I can't say I enjoyed this episode that much. Also, the fact that this "parody" or whatever came out of nowhere kinda made me confused as to what was happening in there. I never watched Gundam or Tengen Toppa or wheteve,r so I can't even say if the parody was well executed or not.

Other than that, I guess I enjoyed the (small amount of) fan service a little bit. I hope this returns to the regular plot by next week.

It's because they're not letting the guy who directed To-Love-Ru direct Mayoi Neko. If he took command of this, the series would not have turned into complete shit.

I'm wondering what they're going to parody next, DBZ? Naruto? Bleach? You hear that, you random directors? I'm begging you to do a parody of shounen series!

Wow, as a Super Robot fan, I really enjoyed this. It had all the Super Robot tropes. A show that begins with "G" and ends with "-er," Combining mecha, drill mecha, mecha that talk like the Brave robots, the classic sword pose, the theme song powerup moment. And it was sung by that guy from JAM Project. So much fun.

And clearly nobody realizes that this was homaging Super Robot shows (particularly the Brave series) in general. Not just TTGL. Besides, it would need more drills for that.

Ah~. Now I want a new Super Robot anime...

Exactly what I thought when I watched it. This episode was meant to be watched by Super Robot shows fans and not just TTGL or Gundam fans. Great homage here, enjoyed every minute of it. 5/5

P.S: Does anyone knows who directed this episode? I'd laugh if it was a Super Robot show director. XD

Gundam? Please...This is far from it. I saw little to no Gundam resemblance, aside from giant robots and possible combination of said robots, as well as a person within them. The opening/ending is simply a generic formula any common anime titles try to replicate after it has already been done by someone else. Gundam, among other titles, has become so popular that it was once part of the super robot genre, but born a new revolutionary genre in anime: mecha. Any hardcore Gundam fan should be ashamed to link this the franchise...unless it's the original Gundam.

I would have liked this is I was still 10, but this is just too much to bear. I saw this whole episode as no homage to the Super Robot genre, [i.e Voltron, Super Sentai (Power Rangers in North America), and in recent years: Reideen, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann]. If this was an homage, they would have done a short snippet and maybe a few shots referencing it, like they did in the last episode when the three girls did the pose and the red, blue, and yellow smoke randomly explodes behind them: that's an homage. But for a whole episode for an original series to be dedicated to an entirely different genre differentiated like night and day, this was more of a rip off, and a waste of their production budget; filler or no. This isn't a parody anime for !@#$ fans sake. At least parody anime/manga/novel titles make things consistent.

Obviously, I give this episode a 0/5, or a 1/10. This is how they decide to introduce new and/or unrelated characters? Unless anyone isn't already familiar with a manga/novel/original story of a series, which is most of the viewers, won't know wtf is going on, and end up hating it even more. I don't care who's decision it was to kill this episode with a garbage homage-fail attempt, be it the producers or the specific director (Rion Kujo: episode 7), but they should be fired from ever touching this series again, and refrained from being hired to produce/direct another series, no matter how good their past works were. Unforgivable.

After that i pretty much skipped to the end if it was still the same.
I really hate this hero themed stuff, and i thought after last weeks episode it could not get any worse.

This Anime started off pretty decent but episode 6 and 7 are very disappointing.
I am considering to drop this Anime after those 2 episodes.

Mediocre series is mediocre.

This was probably the worst episode so far. What is with harem series having power rangers tie ins? Ichiban also had the same crap in it and everyone hates it as well, but even that isn't as bad as this. I had some hope for the series when it was starting, but the series is like a really strong looking running who never started the race! Instead we get crap like the last few episodes.

I liked the previous episodes, more or less, but this one was L.A.M.E.. And the fact that I don't really care for giant robot anime didn't help either. At least they could have made this funny by keeping the characters' personalities or something. Watching the girls play slow-motion-ping-pong for 25 minutes would be less boring than this crap.

(sigh)...This is pretty much what I did too. Is there no hope for this show? I'll probably watch it later...when I'm really bored. I'm starting to get dangerously close to dropping this...though I hope it doesn't come to that. This really needs a storyline...or a stronger one or something. Even other random comedy shows I have seen had an ok overall storyline.

Same here, for the first minute I was just stunned of the level of crap this was, then I decided to go into denial ("This must be another anime.. yes, they mixed it up... Haha, I got fooled there for a moment :P
Oh wait, this seriously is this anime. Then what the fuck just happened? D: Give me a decent episode or I'll drop you goddammit

But I've confirmed on thing for sure. And that is that we would actually be better off without this episode.

As a student studying IT management... one of the most important thing my professor kept stressing is to know when to kill projects. Please... I think they should have killed this project known as Mayoi Neko Overrun the moment they realized they have to change directors every single episode, and airing these episodes a week after finished filming. Unfortunately... this is what happens when projects that should have been ended but kept going due to some odd reason.

As for the episode itself, it was funny at first because of its sheer randomness. I was expecting the main cast and directors to suddenly jump out and say they are filming something for their club or whatever (kind of like Haruhi's "first" episode). But nope, it kept going for the entire episode. I think everyone else said what I wanted to say: this was bad. I don't know what the hell the makers are doing/thinking anymore.

Thanks, person who gave me this on another site a long time ago, lol.

Oh! So what I downloaded was really Mayoi Neko then? I watched the first minute of the video and said "Oops wrong show" then delete.. >.<

But enough with the sarcasm.. hmm, I fairly enjoyed this episode since I am a Super Robot fan too.. Even though all of it is cliche, still pretty enjoyed how they delivered it..

my only problem is that it came out of nowhere, wish they included a few clips on what caused this episode to show up, for example like showing that Chise ordered them to make a Super Robot show for their club or something..

But I really loved the mecha design somehow, very old cliche designs but still eye-catching for me, and the gattai sequence aren't that bad too.. :)

This series is such a disappointment.

Had a pretty strong first episode that had me going, "Hey, this is actually really interesting, can't wait see the next episode!" Then, each new episode comes and I watch it, hoping the next one will continue on the greatness of the first.

Never happens = \

This weeks episode was really, really bad though. Atleast the others had some relevance to the main characters, whereas this is just random crap. I did giggle at the very end, but if they keep continuing down this path, probably just going to drop the series.

Well, I must praise the idea and partly, it was a good parody, but most of the episode was just far too serious, i.e. boring.
Although it was funny, that in the end we found out that the guys are the enemies^^

Hope next ep will be normal again OR a really good, funny parody of something.
