THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Welp, I knew this show would have some explanation about magical content and types eventually. "This is such a fantasy world" LOL

It seems Taichi can keep hear a mysterious voice inside his head about what to do. The training part is definitely something you'd expect to see out of a fantasy/isekai anime. I wish they didn't just skip the fight against that horse monster...

Magic training began and the basic world elements were introduced.

I think this pretty much confirms this show in Isekai Quartet season 2

I really doubt it. If you look closely, Isekai Quartet gathered 4 characters coming from popular isekais shows. I'm now using MAL's numbers : Konosuba S1 = 782k members, Overlord S1 = 673k, RE Zero = 929k & Youjo Senji = 372k. And these don't represent the total numbers of fans around the world obviously !

My point is that Isekai Quartet S2 will introduce - let's say - 1 or 2 more parties coming from different shows. Also, all these shows were released in 2015, 2016, 2017 & 2018. So it seems logical that they focus on this period instead of taking characters from an older show.

I ain't very experienced in the Animeverse (watching shows for 1 year or so), but I still have watched That time I got reincarnated as a Slime & The Rising of the Shield hero, which received a very decent welcome from their viewers (to quote MAL's numbers : between 370k & 430k members, marks above 8/10). So this is most likely the shows that might be introduced in Isekai Quartet S2.

Anyway, Isekai Cheat Magician isn't that bad but not very popular (yet ?). This second episode was a ok, though I honestly think the training part was extremely rushed (going from rookies on 1st day to experienced mage/sorcerer on their 3rd weeks in 30 seconds).

It's an anime, enough, entertaining, I admit, despite its clichés 😅. The characters are nice.
It reminds me of Kenja no Mago from last season, the difference is that the protagonist of this anime is not romantic with his best friend xD. We hope to see more action than romance in this anime.

I think Rin would have been a better protagonist, her magical potential combined with her use of science, is undeniable. It reminds me of Shin Wolford.
How the hell did he get a lightning sword?

What if Taichi and Rin are really Merlin and Merida Wolford of Kenja not Mago ?, LOL.

What do you mean "not romantic with his best friend" ? In Mago, Shin only has romantic feelings for Sizilien. Didn't you watch the show ?

Aug is just his closest male friend, and they're both straight guys and not gay, heck Aug has his own fiance. Aug and Shin are just close buddies with no gay feelings, like in most best buddies relationship in old Shounen Manga, like Goku-Krillin from DBZ and Yuusuke-Kuwabara from YYH.
I frown at recent installments of Persona and Trails of Cold Steel that introduce harem-like elements in the story.

We need more JRPGs like the past Lunar series, where there are multiple romantic pairings in the party other than for the protagonist and main heroine.

The only shows getting in Isekai Quartet are in any form connected with Kadokawa so yeah, it narrows down the list.
This is the only isekai show I remember from Kadokawa left so
I cannot say anything for sure but I think the chances are quite high

I'll be real i never really post on here, but i make it my mission to watch damn near every isekai every season, and this isn't that good. The past couple of seasons I haven't been able to sit through most of the isekais and later just dropped them, which is a damn shame because half the time the manga's are good. This show doesn't bring anything new to the table and doesn't do anything exceptionally well. I'm going to give it till episode four, and by then I will probably drop it.

I'd prefer no yuri, thanks.
Just a classic love story(but neither, it's rather a shounen) is ok.

Btw, not bad episode. Fine adaptation until now. Maybe even a little better than in the manga in some parts.

I think in Isekai Quartet 2 they will introduce characters from the upcoming: Kono Yuusha ga Ore Tueee Kuse ni Shinchou Sugiru "The Hero is Overpowered but Overly Cautious", is a sort of Konosuba, it is very funny.

This episode felt a bit slow paced, I hope they speed things up a little bit, it seems that it will get interesting soon.

I wonder what kind of power Taichi will be able to use, mabye space-time, or all of them like a good ol' OP isekai MC.

Wait, what do you mean?

In most cases, the MAL Average Scores don't mean anything, here is a question: were the works made before 2000 all shit?
Why are they so damn scarce in the Top 50? Think about how MAL is quite literally a filtered amount of the Anime fanbase.

Here's a timeline of the Top 15 in which you can check that, almost always, the scores are affected by the freshness, popularity and other factors that have nothing to do with quality.

This time skip training and fight with this horse was kinda "unsavory"
Hmm,they already knows that they,re from other world.I thought that it would be secret, like in other isekais xD

Well well, it's obvious enough that Rin and Taichi will harbour different powers. Rin, being a mage, she can use the earthly world's endeavour to her advantage. But Taichi, being a sorcerer, plus the (internal) fairy-child powers (which I assume will be his main) is one of abstinence and deprivation.

With their OP powers, it's off to the big world then.

The action scenes, especially that big horse, when they skip it, this is a red flag (though common with lesser stellar studios), though I'm not that surprised.

Plot is still faraway from being able to hook, but until there's some catalyst, then I'll come back.

Man, it still strikes me how GENERIC this show is. I swear to god if there was some competition for the most average and generic isekai ever, it would sweep the grand prize immediately.

At this point it feels like they're actually trying to parody other isekais by using the most common tropes, I mean even the title is meme-worthy.

I do like OP MCs, but Taichi somehow doesn't work for me as one.

Whatever, at least I can kill some time right?

Well, Taichi and Rin turned out to be very powerful magic users (now the name of the anime makes a lot of sense).
Lemiya and Myura were in charge of guiding and training both in the art of magic and sorcery and at first Taichi had problems with his training, but on the side, Rin had everything under control and ended up surprising Myura with her amazing ability .

The voice that Taichi listens to has intrigued me, but I assume that it ends up being some kind of spirit that wants to help him.

Rin and Taichi finally manage to master their magic and graduate from Lemiya and Myura, I find it great the outfit Rin uses, she looks like a real magician.

Today's episode was quite good, gave us an accurate explanation of the magic and the way it is used and we also saw a slight development in Rin and Taichi, now it only remains to see how these two manage to survive in this new world, but being so strong I remain calm that they will be fine (I hope so, I just realized that the manga exists and I have not wanted to read it for now)

I mean, it's generic yes but nothing really BAD so far. Kinda pissed off that they didn't show us the fight against the Obsidian horse thing, that's pretty lazy.

I was about to say that Taichi doesn't have any depth whatsoever but the line at the end about him not wanting to be alone was pretty neat. If only the author can capitalize on this so that it has a deeper meaning.........

It was better than the first episode. It was actually alright, training episodes are pretty fun and I'm interested in how Tacihi's magic power will develop. I hope they continue developing Rin's magic with science in mind and now just limit it to blue fire which is pretty standard.
