For example, i gave FMA brotherhood a 10 but I felt the beginning was to rushed compared to the original series. Your opinions?

I don't think anything is flawless. I give a 10 to shows I greatly enjoyed, I will always remember and that had an impact on me and how I feel/see things.

I don't think any of those is flawless, it's just that you overlook it's flaws/ don't consider them important while others might.

In truth, ther are no such things as 100% flawless, what we have tho, is animes which flaws are so small that it can be easily overlooked by the person (if the person even find these flaws in the first place)...

Now you claim that the beggining of FMA:B was rushed compared to the 2003 one...Well, as for me who didn't watch the original one, there was no such thing as rushed or too slow in FMA:B at any instance, the pacing was perfect at all times...IMO.

So not only flaws can be factual, but there are such things as subjective flaws as well, so is literally impossible for something to be flawless...NUFF SAID!

Well flaw is a lighter version of mistake. In my opinion my top animes have no mistakes. It can have "minor mistakes" (flaws) like: not showing one characters backstory / predictable fight outcomes / one really annoying side character etc.

For me they can, but they just have to be small enough to not effect my enjoyment of the anime itself.

it's honestly hard to truly call something objectively flawless, without consistent and absolute rules for what count as flaws. Anime judgment is far too subjective and even a flawless anime might be boring depending on ones definition of flawless. My reviews are nothing more than the strength of my personal recommendation.

Hmmm, maybe not flawless, but it must be that amazing to someone if they give something a rating of 10. I would give a 10 for an anime that I greatly enjoyed with only a few minor annoyances in it, but I rarely give 10's anyway.

^^ Totally agree. I don't think a 10 has to be perfect. My 10's usually go to shows that impact my view on the world-- shows with a broader influence that stays with me long after I've finished watching.

On the other hand, I definitely think there are some phenomenal shows that don't have such a deep or far-reaching meaning. A show can also be a 10 for me if it really succeeds at what it was trying to produce (think: Ouran. Didn't leave me considering my place in the world or anything, but is a masterful shojo spoof that's super enjoyable.) Doesn't have to be absolutely flawless.

Nah, one of the biggest factors in my rating is enjoyment. Most of my 10's have plot holes in them. I don't care. I enjoyed it so so much I gave it a 10 :P

Nope, it has its flaws as any other show, but they don't really matter that much and don't drag the show, just some minor things that can be passed, like having a slow start, mediocre animation, art or soundtrack. Though I just give a 10 if the show grows on me a lot.

I actually have a minor problem with the score of 10 being synonymous with "masterpiece". With 7 8 and 9 being good, very good and great respectively, it makes more sense if 10 were to be something like "amazing" or "fantastic". Both words are a step beyond "great", but unlike "masterpiece", they don't carry the connotation of perfection. At least, that's how I view the word "masterpiece".

I would only rate something 10/10 if I considered it flawless. However, that's a little misleading because of my definition of "flawless." A show doesn't have to be perfect to be flawless. It just has to have no flaws. And by that, I mean it has nothing in it I don't like.

That actually sets the bar pretty low. There are plenty of shows that could pass that test. A show doesn't have to have the greatest story, as long as it doesn't have any plot holes or unresolved subplots. It doesn't have to have the greatest characters, as long as it doesn't have any characters I dislike.

Unfortunately, in order to score a 9 or 10 it also has to be one of my top favorites. To date, I have yet to see a show that is both flawless AND one of my favorites. So the highest score I've given is a 9.

Very good question, it's because it's really as close to 10 as it'll get, so even if I was really annoyed by the misplaced humor, I still think that giving it a 9/10 would not be justified considering other things I've given 9/10 to.

I also gave 10/10 to Shinsekai Yori despite its obvious flaws, because it was extremely moving in a very unique way.

I do the same for some anime/manga as well. For example I feel it deserves lower or higher but my feelings of my experience is different.

If the standard for 10/10 was flawless, then there is no such thing as a 10/10. Near flawless would be more accurate.

No because that would an impossible standard to meet. Nothing is without its flaws, but flaws are subjective so unless it's something catered towards you specifically (or a small enough niche which you fit into) then there's going to be some stuff that you won't enjoy so much, but that isn't exactly a bad thing. Some may say that SEL is flawed because it's hard to understand while others say it's great because it's interesting to figure out and has great rewatch value. These are both opinions and neither is incorrect. I do like to differentiate between my 9s and 10s for reasons so my 10s can't possibly be flawless simply because of the fact that I decided to rate any products of human effort scores of 10/10.

I rate anime 10/10 if it entertains me greatly and keeps me interested from the first episode to the last. I'm not a critic, so yeah these anime have flaws but as long as they don't cause much of a hindrance in my enjoyment then I can give it a 10.

I usually say that the anime that does the most things right gets the higher score. FMAB got a 10 from me because it done so many things right, however it is not flawless. The positives just outweighed the negatives.

No anime is flawless so obviously not. In that case you could never give anything a 10, which would effectively make the rating system just a 1-9 scale, which would be stupid

Pretty damn close. The opening to Mind Game for example was kinda eh but I was so amazed by the rest of it and how it was the most I'd enjoyed any movie in a long time I had to give it a 10.

Nothing is flawless because humans are flawed. A (10) anime is so good that talking about its flaws feels redundant. Why mention the tiny things that don't work when you have an ocean of highlights to analyze?

Much like everything else, it is all a matter of preference and opinion. So it's not always right claiming something as a flawless masterpiece, because someone is always gonna disagree and weigh the cons that are overlooked.

Though I do say that, but I strongly think that the show closest to a flawless execution is Gurren Lagann. But that's my biased opinion.
