Well, hotels are booked and we are going to Japan for a couple months in September. It'll be nice to get away from the land of the homeless and crackheads for a while.
All the best
I'm in a similar situation with my third language (German), which I desperately wish to continue learning, but struggle to set adequate time aside for.
Thanks for the kind words. Me and my wife live together in Canada now, but it was rough when COVID first hit. Now we're just passing the time until Japan finally opens its borders again, whether it be for a visit or a permanent move back.
As for speaking, I speak Japanese at home since my wife is Japanese and doesn't feel comfortable with English yet. But during the year she wasn't here (COVID border lockdowns), my speaking skills in Japanese did indeed get quite rusty!
You: I really don't care.
Oh don't you worry. I'm actually suffering a bit myself. You see, I went to San Diego for a vacation! During the last few days of my trip I got sick, nothing serious just weakness and congestion, however, I did something very foolish--I had to go back home on a flight for 4 hours and 45 minutes. You already know what happens to the ear drums on a flight, it's hard for it to adjust to the pressure and keep up--this only got harder because the tubes had mucus flowing through them from the congestion. Know what happened? Ear drum got smushed, it felt like a python inside my head trying to worm it's way out of my ear and I got nearly deaf. It was horrible and even know I can still barely hear. Luckily I went to the doctor and they said with a few antibiotics I should be fine, the problem wasn't the pressure, it's that the drum was more suspecitble to being hurt from the infection. My doc said it best. Imagine your ear drum is in a pool of water, the water is the mucus, that's why the senses are cloudy, like you're in water, next--imagine thousands of pounds of force begin to crush the water and in turn your ear drum. Normally the tubes regulate how much air goes in and out but sense it's so cloudy, couldn't this time, my ear feels terrible an slightly ruptured but the antibiotics are repairing it. Scary stuff. :/
And I'm sorry but uh, I don't know what currents events are happening in your life, like if something happened? But please take all the time you need, quite honestly, social media is very consuming haha.
