After 8 weeks (regular edition only): 42. *19,959 1,711,394 Shingeki no Kyojin Vol.13 28. *18,879 1,654,317 Shingeki no Kyojin Vol.15 25. *25,068 1,614,232 Shingeki no Kyojin Vol.16 32 *29,149 1,714,283 Shingeki no Kyojin Vol.17 So after having the slowest start of all, Vol. 17 is now the fastest selling SNK volume, a whooping 100k above it's predecessor and it seems like its sales are up from last week, nice. After 10 days: *1. 260,637 629,991 Tokyo Ghoul:re Vol.3 *2. 278,986 617,235 Tokyo Ghoul:re Vol.4 Volume 4 is slightly behind volume 3. But according to Z4K that is due to the release of Tokyo Ghoul [anime] which sold 35,970 copies and has possibly slowed the sales of the main series. This seems to be true since in this second week, Vol. 4 sold over 18k copies more than vol 3 did back then, narrowing the 31k gap betwwen their first three days to just 12k after 10 days. After 24 days: *45 22,191 *,254,190 Toriko Vol.36 First volume since Vol. 28 (January 2014) to make four consecutive appearances on the list. Ichii was right that Toriko has legs. This volume had a 31k deficit over 34 and 35 after their first three days but it looks like rather than increasing, the gap has instead narrowed over the last 3 weeks to about 20k and its fourth week is better than volume 28's by 2k (volume 28 had already sold over 315k by then though). Can Toriko pull a SNK and have its lowest debuting volume become one of the fastest selling? We won't know since next week it won't make the list (unless the threshold is dead low). Great legs, nonetheless. *4 175,477 Kingdom (キングダム) *8 108,598 Shingeki no Kyojin (進撃の巨人) I expected SNK to average 60k per week or more so it looks like it might actually happen. Kingdom though, is proving to be very unpredictable and is even about to give AssClass a run for it's money (AssClass has many missing weeks of sales though, so maybe that's not the case just yet). I guess the random 17% increase in sales is due to the month's ending (since that's when Japanese workers are paid). If next week its sales fall by 50k or more, then I'll stick to my 8.5 million estimate. Otherwise, I'll have to revise it. Thinking about it, Kingdom might have had a legitimate shot at selling 10 million had this boost started in December. The boost from the two anime seasons seem small in comparison. |

It often escapes my mind because TG and TG:RE sales are split, but the series has become a juggernaut. Btw, how did I never hear of 3-gatsu no lion when this volume almost reached 500k in its first week without an anime? Agafin said: Very nice indeed. It actually doesn't even seem impossible for volume 17 to reach 1.8 million before leaving the list, has that happened before? 5 main aspects I base my ratings on: 1. Did DramaEnthusiast make a thread about it? 2. Is it better than Breaking Bad? 3. Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it? 4. Has it caused a (very entertaining) shitstorm on MAL? 5. Is it actually good? Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant... |

The sales are scarily constant for such a release schedule. Very nice indeed. It actually doesn't even seem impossible for volume 17 to reach 1.8 million before leaving the list, has that happened before? No. Non consecutively the highest a volume reached on the list is: 49. *17,857 2,706,099 Shingeki no Kyojin Vol.1 But consecutively (which I guess is what you're asking): 50. *,*17,454 1,728,848 Shingeki no Kyojin Vol.13 This volume would need to chart at least four or five more times to reach 1.8 million. This is very unlikely, especially if Haikyuu or OPM get a boost (since their volumes would raise the threshold). Kingdom having a 150k average optimistic, seems like a safe bet to me now. Yeah, its boost has been so long lasting that averaging 150k seems likely at this point, especially with vol. 40 coming out soon. |

Z4k said: The second half of the manga is even more intense and hilarious than the first half so its likely we'll see a second season soon. the issue is that the director is basically drowning in projects that he needs to do over the next years which is also the reason why shirobako probably won't be getting a season 2 anytime soon |
