Let's see what type of manga is the most popular! I had to group some of them because the poll would have been too long.
For me is romance

P.S: i can edit the poll if i'm missing something.

No problem. I voted for 'Yuri/Yaoi'.

It would be too much to differentiate everything. For example the Yaoi genre itself has a lot of sub-genres/themes: Bara, shotacon, shounen-ai, gender bender, BL, .....

And often a Yaoi manga is also a romance/comedy/slice of life/supernatural manga. So let's keep it simple.

Yeah but it's different if your main search is about romance and you don't care if it has comedy or drama, or if your main research is about drama and it's the same if the 2nd theme it's romance or horror. I think this is the best groups i could do

Horror, historical (and fantasy mangas in a victorian/medieval setting), shounen, yuri and shoujo ai ♥
But I think I vote for horror.

Yeah well, if you search for romance, what do you think for first? I mean, Romance/comedy, romance/slice of life, romance/school life? Anyway, is it important that it is romance (the main subject), isn't it?

Or try to suggest me how to reorganize those groups

Most often either romance/comedy or romance/drama, perhaps with ecchi mixed in as well

Well that wasn't really what I meant either way, there are good and bad series of all genres and therefore I don't really like to judge any one genre as "better" than any other

Sci-fi isn't in the choice selection.

As for me I would have to say it's a tie between Sci-fi, Historical, Psychological and Slice of Life.

One question. Is the Adult/Mature category for more serious works or does this represent hentai?

I voted for Drama/Tragedy, though actually I really don't know... I like all kinds of mangas.
But I quess most series I read fall into the 'drama' category (tragedy is a plus), since that type of stories work really well in manga in my opinion. I also love psychological series.

Shoujo/Josei romance - which makes up about 70% manga titles i've read so far. Though it's mainly because vast majority of scanlated shoujo/josei series are short-lived (often not any longer than 1 tankoubon), and usually end with the main male and female characters making out together. They can provide quick, easy drama without requiring long-term commitment and in some way, a quite cathartic medicine after a long day of work.

Shounen/Seinen action - makes up about 25%. I prefer the more violent/bloody type with more complex storyline and darker setting; the likes of HunterXHunter, Owari no Seraph, D. Gray Man, etc. The less slapstick/silliness the manga has, the better.

Any other genre 5 %

No single genre, but the closest I enjoy is fantasy. But regardless of genre, it's mostly for naught if the protaganists aren't willing to kill. Also, thanks so much for not including demographics like all the idiots on this site. Not sarcasm, in case it came off that way.

Well, for me shoujo/shounen/josei/seinen are secondary choices. I mean, you can find romance in shounen mangas and you can find action in shoujos :)
And i'm against people who say "i hate EVERY shoujos because they are shoujo so they automatically will be bad" or viceversa with shoujos lovers against shonen
