and they're definitely worthwile

Watched the OVA.
It was the cause of me asking for softcore Yuri instead. Gave it a one point out of 10.

What was bothering you about it so much then? Sure the transitioning into the nude scenes wasnt really subtle, but the cute vanilla sex scenes made up for it quite well. Just look at dat face:

How can you NOT like that? Lol

I knew it through a GIF when I looked up hentai as usual. One of the girls forcefully pushed down the other onto the bed and kissed her. Both naked of course.

Tone down the nether region licking though and things might change. Also look for another choice of music during the act (or better, don't). Tone down the volume of the moaning. And make them fever-less dammit! Ok that was the licking.

Mai did force her down, but given Reo's tsundere nature, she certainly would've said something about it. She even mentioned not doing "ecchi things" because she felt sick, but eventually she gave in because Reo was the only thing on her mind.

I can't really do much about the "nether region" licking. They adapted the source material from the VN, so not much can be done about that. I'm actually glad they only adapted the scenes where they go all the way. The OVA is classified as an hentai after all, so those erotic scenes are to be expected. If you want softcore or even softer yuri you might be better off with anime like Candy Boy, Aoi Hana and Sakura Trick.

The moaning wasn't a bother for me. It made the love between the two sound even more passionate, hehe.

Yeah I'll give you that the music wasn't impressive at all. But when I looked at Reo's face in ecstasy, I immediately forgot about it lol.

If you ever read through Umineko koro ni(VN), Ever 17, Higurashi(VN), Steins;s Gate(VN), Clannad(VN), etc. you would know.

Please do NOT play Katawa Shoujo, its awful. Too many people seem to like it just because it was their gateway into visual novels. That does not make any good in any form.

Saya No Uta is a good choice if you want something with a lot of gore/horror. School Days is good for a lot of choices, h-scenes if you want that and good romance/comedy.
Yume Miru Kusuri has a decent amount of choices, three different heroines and some H. All of these games are much better introductions and aren't complete shit.

Nah never did they look kinda really boring. Only thing I played that comes close is a text novel kind of thing called "Corruption of Champions" which is pretty great tough. You can kind of choose your gender and a few starts and over the course of this erotic novel style thing by fighting and drinking strange liquids and having strange encounters you can kinda create your own abomination of a being, like becoming a two-dicked H-cup bee-morph shemale. Also the fights are pokemon style and you can either use brute force, seduction or black magic and when you turn into a beemorph bee-stings and the likes. Its pretty great and I played a bunch of it.

But yeah I doubt there are any VNs that great out there and honestly I dont want to play any of those romance games where you have to work to get to one lame tame H-scene. If they made a VN as sick as Corruption of Champions tough...

Reminds me of that choice in the renpy visual novel maker's sample VN when the protagonist can tell his love that visual novels are "hentai games where you have lots of sex". Hmm...

Didn't complain about the pushing down body. It looked weirdly too good for a yuri anime and somewhere near cuteness. And like I said that's how I found them in the first place.

Yes, indeed, not much can be done about the source material, but I didn't complain about the OVA bringing in that licking from the source material. You could say the same criticism applies to the source material. I don't know why I didn't like them, maybe that's because its the first yuri entry and I was reluctant and didn't like the idea of licking? I think its more of an inner rambling towards the feeling I got from it rather than an opinion of a critical view. Sorry. I made a recommendation thread for softer anime that is short or one episode in other words, though.

I couldn't help forgetting the music and looking at anything because... talk about my only conditions for watching yuri: through the phone and with the earphones stuck in my ears, and after midnight when everyone is dead asleep but me. Even at the lowest volume, I could hear everything.

En shorte, I think I'll ask for a just as cute but softer yuri.

Lol , in the VN's I have played I actually forgot there was any sexual content until I reached the particular scenes. The stories are generally really good and have a more personal feel to them. I can understand why some people do get put off by it(I was originally) but generally there are only 1 or 2 scenes per route and they've never bothered me to to the point i refuse to play anymore.

I've only played Katawa Shojo, only did one of the girls routes (The althletic girl with no legs). Most of KS is very long, drawn out, and boring for the most part. It takes fucking forever to feel like your making any progress plotwise (maybe it was just the route I took?). A bunch of people rave about it for whatever reason. Maybe they are referring to the routes with the other girls that I didn't go down hmm?

I will say that when you FINALLY get into some more romantic aspects of it, its decent enough. I didn't feel like it was justified waiting that long to get the good shit though.

Whats a good VN for someone that only knows english other than KS? One problem I've encountered is looking at some other VN's you have to go through this fucking complicated process to actually switch voices to english even when there is a translation patch, and I'm not computer savvy at all.

Ace attorney may be the only one that kind of works, but if I am not mistaken muv-luv is this sort of action story, and Id find it rather stupid to click text boxes instead of having actual gameplay with an action story. I haven't played/read/watched (don't know what is the right term) many visual novels but I enjoyed Dysfunctional Systems: Learning to Manage Chaos and the other VNs they have also made. If any of you have an iOS device check out Junipers Knot (might also be on android, don't know) its very short but still a very nice little visual novel :)

I believe its also on Windows, I think I have it installed. Its free, but its sitting there collecting dust much like Umineko and Yandere are.

Oh, actually didn't know that. You should give it a try, its only about an hour long if I recall correctly.

Speaking of the Android version, one of the sites said that "it was removed from Google Play". However I can't see an apk download off of Google Play via a Google query for some reason. Either I find an apk, or figure that the developer hates Android and lash out.

You can eventually read 1000 words per minute.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic but if anything Visual Novels would lower your reading speed because of the slowass text and voice acting.

You can set the VN's reading speed in most cases.
your reading speed depends on whether or not you finish listening to all the voiced lines or if you keep interrupting them when you're finished reading it yourself

My point is that it wouldn't increase your reading speed.

Why wouldn't it? It's just like reading a book and that has increased my reading speed.

There is only so much text you can fit on the screen so your reading will frequently be interrupted. Generally speaking reading from a screen is slower than regular. Besides when you play VNs you won't just pay attention to text but also to the graphics. You could ignore them but what's the point in reading a visual novel then?
I suppose it could increase reading speed to a certain degree. But definitely not to 1000 wpm. If you have above average/ high reading speed it will only slow you down.

Honestly I don't even know why I am arguing about this.

I guess that putting my text speed slider in Higurashi (maybe for Umineko too, same engine) on max makes the text instantly show up. Maybe slow a little down with the visual novel? Treat it like a manga, which has pictures and text too?
