| Oh, ef. You're still as beautiful as I remember, and that makes me oh so happy. I've missed watching the screen and seeing the weird images only SHAFT can deliver for this anime. For most people, it's weird and out of place, or unnecessary and ridiculous. For me, every frama SHAFT comes up with has an importance of its own, and that is why I like this anime (I'm mostly referring to the previous season, but this one shows so much potential already) so much. I was wondering how, and if, they would connect the two seasons, since Mizuki looked different (hairstyle is srs bsnss) and she had never met Kuze previously, but they handled this just fine. I loved when Renji held his head in despair when Kuze was hitting on his mother, haha! In regards to Yu's past, it's so good to finally hear about it. I didn't think all the characters would be so linked - so he was friends with Hiro's sister, huh? And what happened ten years prior to those flashbacks, that makes him deny who he was? On a different note, oh my God, the opening. And I thought euphoric field couldn't be topped. Simply a masterpiece once again, so similar to the other one, but still so special on its own. Welcome back, ef. I've missed you. Also, apparently people are already bothered by Mizuki and Kuze's relationship. I think the makers can already start their "Just as planned" faces. It is not something from another world. And she's going into college soon from what I gathered, so she's close to 18. They made it clear, since the first season, that Kuze has perverted thoughts a lot of the time, and when he shows it with Mizuki, people go "WTF"? Sigh. Just, sigh. And angel999? You're probably putting more thoughts in sex than the characters in that scene ever, ever did. |

| Look, kid. If you're going to freak out every time panties or nudity comes on screen, you might as well quit anime. Because even non-ecchi anime has it. Almost every anime has it. Also, you're completely ignoring the circumstances in which the so-called "ecchi" elements were shown. She was naked because she was trying to work. Yu didn't get embarrassed because he was probably used to his friend's weirdness. Do you see any indicators that point to sex? Do you see Yu getting horny, or the other way around? No. Because that was not the point of the scene. If you watched the previous season, and I mean actually watched, paying attention to it, there was also nudity. Actually, Hiro and Miyako had sex, so did Chihiro and Renji. But it was done in a way to give more romantic vibes than anything else. It helped making ef different, not just another show where the characters have a platonic relationship. It made it beautiful. So please, grow up. Yes, ecchi is annoying when overdone. But this was never the case here. Stop overreacting. I apologize if anything sounded offensive. I just think this topic needs to end. The anime is barely being discussed. |

| It's official. If I want to either get seriously annoyed or get my "LOL!" on I just have to visit this topic. (: Anyway... To get things actually talking more about the anime and not just the so-called "fanservice" I'm just going to repeat what everybody else said. :D This whole "fanservice" deal barely "fanservice" at all. In most, if not all fanservice scenes the girl goes all "eek get out~ -slaps male figure while blushing like crazy-" while the male starts freaking out and/or stares for a good long while. Nagi on the other hand is perfectly fine with Yuu being there and Yuu, although slightly disturbed, isn't all "OMG BEWBS" and tells her almost casually to put some clothes on. Meaning, he must be used to Nagi's behavior and therefore this whole deal is to introduce Nagi and/or Yuu. So no, no sex implied here. You do realize that nudity is also considered artistic, correct? The situation with Mizuki? It was ONE LINE. Get over it. It's not like she said "Renji-kun... want to watch me change~?" in an extremely "sexy" manner. | Thanks to everyone here for finally making me come out and post on these forums. You're all so hilarious. :D (well, you shouldn't feed trolls, but it's just so fun to.) I love SHAFT, I really do. This was a great first episode and I wouldn't change anything about it. ebullient future isn't as good of a song as euphoric field, but I'm liking it more every time I listen to it. The animation style is even better than season one, IMO. It's a major strong point of the series. If it weren't for the style, I wouldn't like ef as much as I do. There were quite a few questions raised in this episode that I'm really eager to find out about, like what exactly happened with Yuu and Yuuko in the past, Kuze's illness, and who "Miki" is. I'm really tempted to go read spoilers from Wikipedia or something, but I'm not going to. Gaah, patience is being tested~ Everyone complaining about nudity hasn't studied art at all. It's almost a necessity to draw the naked form if you want to become an artist, so it's nothing special when Nagi did it. As for why she was drawing herself naked in school and didn't mind a guy seeing her - that's just showing the weird quirks she has. I mean, did you honestly expect a character in ef to be normal? If so, then please stop watching immediately. Also, about Kuze and Mizuki's age difference - I don't give a damn as long as the story is good. Large age differences in anime aren't uncommon anyway. It's not that ef - a tale of melodies that's being dirty and inappropriate, it's everyone's minds. One naked girl(or two) and you all start panicking like your parents caught you watching tentacle rape. Christ. |
| I loved the episode, the animation quality was better than I was expecting from the screenshots that I saw. Hopefully it will be as good as the first season was. The fanservice was noticeable as some people mentioned but I didn't think it was too excessive- I just hope they dont start adding more and more in each episode as that can easily ruin a series. |

| I stopped watching Chihiro's subs when they typeset Yuko and subbed Yuuko (or the other way around). They failed in just over one minute... Menclave's release was just perfect. About the episode, it was kind of confusing and fast but since this is ef I know I have to watch it all to understand any of it. |

| I personally waited until MenClave to release their version and I wasn't disappointed one bit! The OP for ef-memo is a tad better than ef-melo, but it is starting to grow on me a bit. The mood and artistic imagery is the same, hell even better than ef-melo. Good thing they learned from the mistakes they made in ef-melo. Looking forward to how things develop. As of now, I'm still relatively speechless :-) Haha lemme add that I personally recognized 4 of the seifukus in Kuze's collection. |

| just wow, I mean ef memories gave me a wow feeling with the animation and the art. And this episode gave me the same feeling. I have yet to see this kind of art, animation in other series (if there are pls pm me the names). So far the plot remains covered to me, but I'll rewatch the episode so to absorb it all and then move on to the next. Great Stuff. |

| Honestly, who cares about this level of fanservice? Are you a child? Because if you are (and 'you' is referring to whoever is flipping out about this), that would make sense why you're making a bigger deal than normal people would. If you don't particularly enjoy fanservice (like me), fine, but don't make it sound like you're so immature that you can't even handle such a scene. First episode was okay, I think Kineta said it well (since I really only skimmed the first 4 pages) - nothing really stood out to me except the scene at the beach. I have to say though, I'm really enjoying Yuuko's character, the little that we got to see of her. And so far, I'm liking Euphoric Field better than Ebullient Future. But we'll see ;) |
