| there was one thought looming in my mind when I was watching this. And that was "where the f*** is justice?" seriously we saw from the last episode of the series that he was still alive, but all we get is a bit of his eye in the last scene. |
| Just finished watching and I loved it. It was great in it's emotional scenes and, of course S L. J rules as Afro and Ninja. The fighting was awesome and it had a good revenge story to tell. |
| I think that while SLJ is undeniably awesome, I thought Liam O'Brien as Shichiguro and Lucy Liu as Sio completely rocked the joint as well. I hope Kintaro goes after Afro. |

| I was rather disappointed with parts of the overall movie. It started off kick ass but there were too many times where it was just a giant WTF moment. Even if the #2 headband was running around hiding like a little bitch, the rules still were suppose to be applied that you cannot fight the #1 without the #2 headband. The ridiculous grudge that Sio held against Afro was unexplained... when you have a revenge story such as this one it would be nice to know a little bit more of a back story of why she would be so pissed off. Also, she more or less just stole the headband and wore it which begs the question if Afro ever got his headband stolen would he really have to go hunt down the #2 so he could then fight the #1 because of his samurai code? I'm pretty sure that would result in one big NO and he would simply cut the person in half, put his headband back on and walk away. Anyways, I loved the RZA's beats and some of the songs but for the most part, specifically towards the end, the song choice ruined the mood and took me out of the anime. It almost seems like they forgot where they left off on the last story and just made this one... which kinda felt like a filler =/ |

| Oh man, I now see Lucy Liu in a new light. XD For what it was supposed to do, I quite liked it. Though I have to agree with the person a few posts above me that Sio's reasoning behind her actions wasn't really explained all that much. The Spike TV version didn't have as much T&A as the trailer was hinting, sadly. I guess they need to give us some incentive to obtain the Director's Cut. |

| I thought it was a litte disappointing. It's good, but no where near as good as the first series. The ending was kinda cheap, the way Afro got revived. Jinno was fricken awesome in this movie though. Looks like Justice is going to return in the next series. Can't wait! Although looks like that random kid is going to have a bigger role in the next series as well. Hope they don't muck that up, becasue he was really annoying so far. Also, to those who are on about Justice appearing at the very end of the first series. I remember reading somewhere that it could have just been a metaphor to express their never ending battle. Either way, I wasn't expecting Justice to be in this movie. |
| The beginning didn't seem as good as the beginning of the first movie, but it got better and since the music was better as well (not that the music of the first movie was bad), I enjoyed Resurrection overall more than the first movie. Looking forward to more. Ninja Ninja wasn't as funny as in the first season, this time I don't have a 'funny phrase Ninja Ninja said' that I remember. |

| ok nice trailer, nice anime and all, but where can i watch resurection? T_T L.E. : Seen it on animeshipuden anyways, the movie lacks, its about 2 points lower tahn then series. The first afro samurai storry was just awsome! :/ But this kinda had no real meaning, it would have been better if it never came out, imo. |

| I didn't really like it. I thought the plot was a little too ridiculous. Since when can lightning do that? And didn't this cause plot holes with the original TV series? I thought it was sloppy. Good, but sloppy. |

| Very disappointed with this. Other than the great animation and the fighting scenes, this was a rather boring hour and a half. Gets a 7/10 (1 of the points due to the animation). And I guess we're in for more Afro Samurai, just hope it's better than this. |
| In reply to what somebody wrote earlier in the thread- Shichigoro was stronger then afro in my opinion, afro had to resort to trickery to kill him. I can only hope kotaro exacts his revenge by killing afro brutally in the next installment. I agree with the poster above regarding the quality of the film, in addition i felt the music was boring and became tiresome very quickly. |

It was very cool in some scenes (for example the scene at the beginning, on the pier after afro killed off the fencing twins), but it just didn't work for the whole film. I still enjoyed it tho. | It looks crappy. 700 MB DivX5 for 90 minutes of film just doesn't cut it. /e THORA version is out. Get that one if your hardware can handle it. |

| This movie was like i expected, disappointing. Fight scenes were okay, story was ... not so okay, ninja ninja wasn't funny and why did he appear? music was okay. Overall: if u won't watch this, u won't miss anything. PS: afros father looked badass |
| i thought this movie was great, some are saying they didnt like it because it was repepitive of the last series, or the story was crap or blah blah. but at the end of the day, its not supposed to be any different in terms of action, story, dialogue, music or anything, its been made intirely to please those who enjoyed the series and no more. so to be honest, if your not a fan of mindlessly brutal fight scenes that make no sense accompanied by pointless dialogue and story, then you shouldnt have been watching this in the first place :) LMAO! |

| I kept feeling bored while I watched this... It got to the point where the only parts I enjoyed were when Ninja Ninja said stuff. Also, doesn't afro care that he's totally fucking up this lil kid's life by killing the kid's father-figure? I'd think he'd be more sensitive to that sort of thing, seeing how that was the exact same shit that he went through! To be honest I think Afro coming back to life was a mistake, it would've been epic to have had them all dead there, or Afro only just killing his father or something like that, but to be brought back to life by electricity from Jinno's body?... Come on. |

| Slept all the movie through. The plot is veeeeery boring and not emotional at all. The graphics was amazing, as always, but the action killed it all. I liked the original Afro much more. |
| My two peeves with this movie: How Afro comes back from the dead and the middle was kinda boring, save the fight with number 2. Besides that I thought it was pretty good. Of course it looked awesome which we've just come to expect from the series, the story was kinda whatever IMO. The beginning and end were spectacular. I'd give the movie an 8/10. Music didn't really work for the whole thing either. But still enjoyable. |

| To be honest i'm kind of disappointed by this, most of the music was pretty bad, the story wasn't interesting enough and the ending of the film was just too..... wierd. The ending could've been better. But i love the opening of the film and all the fight scenes. The animation was brilliant (720p Director's Cut), voice acting was also excellent, some good humour here and there with Afro's Ninja buddy. The little cliffhanger teasing for another film (or series whichever it may be) was a nice thing, i guess Justice is coming back, although i thought he was gonna be in this film, and there was a person with the broken samurai mask who had more than half his body missing talking O_o, okay wierd. The story doesn't explain what happened since the end of the series, but we are given clues like Jinno lost to Afro, AGAIN and the Dr had to repair him, AGAIN. The little defibrillator moment was quite cheesy (electric current acting as CPR), HD making the kills and the blood look even more beautiful. I think they should've kept Afro's hobo look, i didn't like it when he went back to his old shaven face and clothes. The antagonists of this film were pretty annoying seeing as they didn't even care over the fact why Afro had to do what he did, and understanding that he only killed those who most probably had come for his headband, that kind of pissed me off. In the end every kill that was made boils down to vengeance, or greed. After that, i can say that this film could've been much better. I'll give it a 8/10, would've been a 6 but the good things push it up. The series i say is 9/10. There's probably some more that i could go on about this film but, i'll leave it be for now. |
