And so... 42 volumes later... back to where it started, just like nothing happenned at all. Bad ending to a average manga.

I had some fun times with it, but it never were anything special.

6/10 for the whole series.

After the Varia Arc, I thought sky is the limit. I wasn't a big fan of the Future Arc but still ok I admit. But after that, it was nothing but arc that never really built on anything, not even the slightest character development, and in the end, no commitment of Tsuna, no relationships, nothing really.

Just back to square one, and even for a shounen series, that was just a painful drag to the finish line after a great beginning, and some nice impactful moments.

My only real joyful memory of this manga will be his first few transformations, in particular vs Mukuro and Xanxus, as well as his training with future Hibari. After that well meh.

Pretty weird manga imo. Tsuna became friends with all his enemies. It's like there are no real bad guys in the world of KHR. Even within fiction this is pretty unrealistic (ironic) and cheesy.

Action and the independent arcs were good. Though I think there was a lot more potential with the story as a hole.

It gets a 7.5/10 from me because it was pretty enjoyable all together

6/10 for me.

Tsuna begins as a wimp and ends as a wimp(+powers). I am supposed to imagine myself who he is going to pick but I think he is the perfect candidate for an NTR end, he is going to lose them both.

Gave it a 6/10 because I used to love it. All went downhill in the Future Arc. No character progression or storyline progression, but at least the mangaka admitted it herself :P

I had a feeling the Arcobeleno was going to the last arc of the manga since it didn't feel like there was anything left to talk about and it really was the last arc ._. Ah well, I'll give this an 7/10 since the series really went downhill boring for me after the Varia arc.

The ending was absolutely terrible. I know that Tsuna had to make a decision about becoming Vongola X, but this last chapter was horrible. Rushed ending. Should have just ended it at the Future Saga.

That ending was so bad, the manga overall was good, but this ending really doesn't explain ANYTHING at all, in fact it doesn't do anything. All its saying is, Reborn is Tsuna's tutor again.... Wow big change.

Bad manga had bad ending.

Hmmm, was in doubt whether to go for a 4/10, 5/10 or 6/10. Think I will stick with 6/10 since Varia arc was somewhat special for me.

I feel bad that you spent your time reading 409 chapters of a manga you didn't even enjoy.

Good series overall, not going to miss it that much. Amano didn't have much time to do a good ending though I was hoping he'd at least accept being vongola or choose a girl but oh well it's all about the journey I suppose.

Ill keep on eye on her next work.

So nothing changed at all? Uh... Bad, rushed and unsatisfactory end IMO.

I felt like that exactly. Tsuna sorta changed but not really. It's like he didn't make that much progress which feels like a waste of manga. I was pretty certain that he had changed until this chapter. Why Amano-sensei, WHY?!

After all they went through, this is what happens? I didn't feel good about this ending at all....I felt sorely disappointed.

Still didn't explain Cervello and I wanted to know more about Dino and the Cavallone, dangit! DX

Will still miss Dino, Yamamoto, Gokudera, Reborn, and the Varia & Koukyo Familiga. ;______;

7.0-7.5/10 from me. The 7.5 is for the good things that happened prior to the suckiness that happened in the last couple of arcs.

The manga started off pretty terribly. Then it got really good once the Varia Arc and Xanxus made its appearance. Then the manga started dropping again during the end of the Future arc in the final battle. And then I don't even want to comment on this last arc....what a disappointment.

It's basically what this chapter exemplified. Tsuna basically had no character growth whatsoever. What was the point of all those battles if he couldn't do things on his own? So frustrating.

Again, I loved some parts of this manga, but there were equally disappointing parts as well.

Final 5/10.

Completely agree. I hated the beginning of the series but kept reading in the hopes it would improve. It did until the end of the Future Arc then it declined. :(

What sort of ticks me off is that it ended so abruptly. Otherwise it was a good series, I just hope they make the rest into an anime with a more satisfactory ending. So long Katekyo Hitman Reborn!

Glad´s it´s finished. Now a proper anime adaptation please, by the same studio or a better one, that is. For all I care Pierrot can pick this up tho, since it's finished anyway.

In the meantime, I might rewatch the varia/future arc since those were pretty well done for a generic shounen.

I have mixed feelings about the ending. I think the series hit its peak in the Future Arc. All the stuff that happened once they got home (meeting the Simon Family, dealing with Daemon Spade, etc) was never as interesting to me, and I'd been hoping for a conclusion to the series for quite some time.

What ticks me off the most is that Tsuna is still indecisive about becoming the 10th. Like he even has a choice in the matter. Maybe what I would've liked to see is Tsuna coming to terms with becoming the head of Vongola but deciding to do it his own way or something? I don't know. I'm typing words and hoping they make sense.

I think a better send off would been to have all the characters doing something fun together like the type of stuff they did in the very beginning when there wasn't much of a plot. Then the series would have come full circle. Cause the one thing I did like about this ending is that Tsuna, even though he recognized he hadn't changed much in some aspects of his personality, did realize that at least one important thing had changed: now he has friends and he's become a stronger person because of them.

It started out around a 7-8, then when the arcs started it quickly boosted up to a 9-10 (the 10 being definitive when the Future arc ended), but the last two arcs (and especially last three chapters) dragged it down to a 9. Too bad really, I actually didn't care when it ended, and it used to be one of my favorites :(

Very disappointed from the ending. It would have been at least a good ending if the arcobalenos were free from the curse. It has been such a big deal and in the end nothing really changed.

From the saga of the future, I just read Reborn because of arcobalenos, and this arc just took a good ten chapters where I thought that Tsuna had been finally developed.

Characters who don't evolve unless by force, huge holes in the script and unfunny comedy.

Glad that Amano gave her seat to new promises

Reborn was bad. It had some cool moments, but those were overshadowed by the fact that the narrative and characters were poorly developed. It was really unfocused. The ending is a fine example of how much planning went into how things played out.

Overall, I'd give it a 4/10.

Well, I don't want to bash it too bed. The ending is cute, but I feel holes. I wanna see Tsuna and everyone grow up (what would a serious life of the 10th family look like?), but I'm sure they will even if I don't see it.

I was disappointed by the Rainbow fight arc ending.

We will never know about Gokudera's father or Yamamoto's mother or how did Hibari end up with the Namimori shrine? How about Kyoko? She was the love interest since chapter 1 and nothing happened. Oh boy, the potential!

Chapter wise, I expected a more touching or memorable ending.. However I don't hate the current ending nor do I like it.

Manga wise, like others said.. It went down hill during mid of Future Arc.. The Inheritance arc and Arcobaleno arc actually have a good start.. Sadly, it eventually went downhill, in fact Future arc was the same..

It's a shame that the last chapters were so bad and I was holping for more character development, 'cause they have been growing on me since the beggining.
I gave a 8/10 'cause the first arcs were good enough and I love these characters, Varia specially.

I will miss Varia :'(

This is the first manga to have ended for me while reading it(Not counting the time when the last Dragonball book came in Danish). It was time for it to end, but it was too suddenly. Many untold stories left but well there will always be some no matter what.
Anyway, i really liked it and felt sad now that it ended, almost cried a tear (Ooh dear the flood of tears that will come the day One Piece ends) :( I still want some more and i'm gonna miss it !

A little sad it ended, but i think the time had already passed for it.
The only thing i wanted to see was Tsuna achieving the role of 10th Vongola, that didn't happen unfortunately. I would like to have seen Amano develop him further, not in the power matter, but his personality and determination.

This! What's wrong with Tsuna? Did he really achieve nothing but the addition of friends from his tutoring by Reborn/this entire manga? That is disappointing.
This serie was incredibly enjoyable though, despite the ups and downs.

Ya... the last battle with Kawahira and then just ended all too peacefully.. She should make it they beat a crap of Kawahira, or at least some fights between Tsuna and Kawahira before he revealed himself and they talked about it.

Well, I guess the author has no more ideas of new enemy or threat to come up with. I'm glad that she ended it now, before she actually decided to bring alliens/outerspace threats into the story lol (which I doubt she will)
Hmm, now that everything ended, I kinda want to watch the anime again, especially Future arc.

Pretty much how I felt and to be honest I can only think up three reasons why an author would rush an ending like this:

1) They were told that they needed to end a series by a certain date which would mean they would have to rethink the ending they originally planned, shorten it, and therefore it would become rushed and bad unless the author was an uber amazing writer. The cause of this would most likely be low ratings, of course it could also be something personal as well (illness for example).

2) They are just a bad writer in general. For some reason I just don't get this vibe from Amano-sensei though. A lot of people felt that the series went downhill after the Future arc (some even say after the Varia arc) however I felt that the Mukuro arc, Varia arc, and Future arc were aimed at Tsuna's character growing stronger physically while the Inheritance and Arcobaleno arcs were more at emotional growth, as is seen by the maturity that Tsuna showed when he brought up the Primo when talking to Reborn and trying to convince him that he (Tsuna) wouldn't give up and also when he called the meeting to discuss the strategy for the fight. Anyways I'm straying from my point, I just don't feel that Amano is a bad writer.

3) The author plans for a sequel. Sequels don't happen very often in manga, then again I've watched more anime than I've read manga, still I've only come across one author that did a sequel (Takeshi Konomi), and since that's the only one I know of I'm going to use it as my point of comparison. A sequel can occur when a series reaches it's goal, in the Prince of Tennis Seigaku reached it's goal - winning nationals, in KHR Reborn was freed from the Arcobaleno curse (remember taking into account the title, the opening, and the ending, the focus of KHR was Reborn and his antics, not Tsuna even if he was the main character), but there is still room for character development. In the Prince of Tennis even though Seigaku won Natiionals Ryoma hasn't reached the peak of his growth, he is not as strong as he could be (Opening the doors for the New Prince of Tennis) in KHR's case Tsuna has not: A) Chosen a girl yet B) Become the Vongola 10th, or the Neo Vongola Primo as is pointed out at the end of the manga. At the end of the manga it's also stated that Tsuna hasn't changed at all except for the fact that he now has friends and has maybe grown a little stronger because of them.

-----------------------

Anyways those are just the three possibilities as to why the ending could be rushed. Personally I think it's either 1 or 3 (2 isn't a contender for me because like I said I don't think Amano-sensei is a bad writer) and I'm leaning towards 1 because like I stated above sequels are rare and while I'm hoping for one it's much more likely the story and characters of KHR are done for good and Amano will move on to something new. Others may have different opinions though and I'd honestly like to hear them.
