from menma's point of view is probably the worst choice since she was the most polarizing character in the series

I enjoyed the series quite a lot, but a retelling from Menma's point of view? That doesn't sound so interesting...

The TV adaption was one of the most beautiful examples of completely destroying the emotional impact and great pacing of the first 10 episodes of this 11 episode anime.

Episode 11 was crying for the sake of crying and felt so fake and forced. Beauty is in brevity and the 15 minutes of crying really just got boring...
Episode 1-10 was solid and struck an emotional chord in me.

Change how the ending was handled and we'd have a winner.

Again money going towards pointless garbage . AnoHana is good, but does not need a movie, that's ridiculous. Show ended well. so stop selling bullshit.

K-ON doesn't have a plot, focuses more on the fun factor, for example music. One can simply enjoy the show for the music, but I can't say the same for Anohana because everything has been explained.

having K-On and AnoHana in the same thread... well excited for the movie (sort of, if its done well) the series was great, not sure if I will have time in college to check it out but when I get the chance I definitely will.

It's still "pointless garbage" by any reasonable definition. Not saying that's good or bad, just saying neither really tries to accomplish anything.

Menma's point of view is worth trying I guess. And it will be epic if they show how's Menma's point of view when she's about to disappear.

^This.

Anywho,
I loved the anime...
But why would I want to watch a shorter version from a different perspective?
Everything's gotta get some sort of movie adaption nowadays...

Companies could at least do something creative like how NGE got completely re-written through movie adaptions, or how SDF Macross and Macross Do You Remember Love? are the same plots, but told completely and absolutely differently...

Now with a longer series I could understand a movie adaption... but a dozen-episode anime?

Still... will watch...

LOL Clannad has more padding than AnoHana like that silly violin mini concert that took a whole episode or Sunohara's antics. Not to mention the Deus Ex Machina of season 2 which I know came from the VN. But AnoHana is far from perfect. I like both shows but Grave of Fireflies still surpasses them both...well Roger Ebert himself got teary eyed watching that movie...

Anyway I was hoping to see a sequel. I just want to see how Anaru's friend would react if Anaru and Jinta became lovers...

I'll watch it..

Though I just hate the part they are going to make a movie out of it (movies are so short), it would be nice if the rest of the gang will have their own point of view so that we will really know what is going on and how their story started.

So, whether it is boring or not I will be the judge of that :)

Oh, I'm curious. I liked the anime, though it wasn't exactly my cup of tea. I'm not sure what a retelling would do though.. I mean, from Menma's point of view is interesting, but I'm afraid it would just be literally the same thing all over again?

This could go entirely wrong or entirely right. Wonder which one it'll be! (Hopefully it'll work out, of course >u> )

First of all, wrong usage of implication. Second, I also agree that AnoHana's drama is forced. The drama is not as good as Clanand After Story or Clannad After Story drama is way better than this. Though it seems you got offended judging you rate AnoHana a 10.

On topic, will not watch. I'm not interested on Menma so I don't care about her point of view.

YES! This series was amazing in visuals and emotions. Though forced, it did not seem like it to me. I just found it more intense.

Pretty sure they changed the premise of the movie to after the series. Unless they changed it back and I'm not aware of it

Well if it picks up right after the anime ended it's gonna be the life of the group without Menma (unless they somehow fast forward to Menma's resurrection), meaning it would be some kind of epilogue. Even if it's a new story, I can't help but feel an OVA would be more appropriate.

I'm a big fan of Ano Hana but it seemed that they ended the anime well and I can;t help but feel that this isn't gonna end well...

Official PV is uploaded to youtube. You can know see it in better quality.

So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.
