Seriously, what are the chances you left your toy under the open window in a storm? Then it gets hit by lightning. I wish it was more believable though.

I still liked the episode, looks like an okay start to the series.

GREAT first episode. I think this show has a lot of potential. They have some good characters set up, solid animation, great music, I am definitely going to give this show a shot.

Premise is a little eh, but mainly I like the way the characters are set up. I think this show stands to have very interesting development.

Now what this show needs is a really really good dub, because it's in fucking America lol.

Though I agree that I am not fond of "America" being shoved in my face or the color scheme of Heroman...I am a HUGE fan of the animation. I thought the colors were well picked (except Heroman of course lol) and it flowed nicely from shot to shot and scene to scene, just what I would expect from Bone animation.

The OST was amazing as well, especially the "aliens" opening song...a very large plus in my books. I am not, however, a fan of the story so far. It's a little bit cliche and unlikely that Joey finds a robot that he can't afford, fixes it up, and then it gets conveniently struck by lightning and comes to life in time to save his friend Lina...oh and to fight aliens in the next episode! lol. Overall however, it was good and better than I had expected.

I really wonder if people notice how much detail was put into the animation i mean when heroman got hit by a car pieces everywhere.

This anime look GREAT but the protagonist has a bitch-face =( thats a reall letdown too.

Also, I love how proper english is used (whiteboards and such) throughout the entire show, but the ED has engrish galore.

IT'S A TRAP!

Although cliche, because of the setting it feels rather refreshing. I just hope that other episodes are gonna be enjoyable like this one... and that it won't turn into another Ben 10.

eww.. I really don't like the first ep. Looks like a stereotypical shonen series with stereotypical characters. Characters are cliche and character interaction is so artificial. Ugg, complete disappointment; even the graphics were a huge letdown. Many people said it had great animation or something. Personally I did not like it and could have done a lot better job with it; a lot of awkward movements like that cg ufo in the beginning. Next episode looks like a generic fighting ep with nothing interesting. Hopefully it gets better later on : (

Man, it is so surreal watching an anime with a completely American setting where all the writing (signs, notes, etc.) is in correct English and the characters don't have Japanese names, but still everyone's running around speaking Japanese! It's just trippy.

That said, I wasn't going to watch this at first, but then everyone told me I needed to check it out. I like the way the characters interact with each other. And it doesn't hurt that the animation is great and Joey's cute. So I guess I keep watching it for now.

In my opinion, that anime won't be bad, but I must say one thing.
This main character Joey is really a boy? He look like a girl, and he is talking with big girl accent.

The story is a bit generic, but nostalgic. The animation quality was amazing. Still, I have a quarry with the ending of this episode. Doesn't Joey have the logic to know that it's unsafe to remove passengers from a car crash like that? Putting their possibly heavily injured bodies under more stress will only make things worse...though I suppose the fuel leakage would make up for the horribly rash action. R.I.P. the other people involved in the fenderbender who weren't saved.

Also, it's nice to see an American environment in an anime again.

hmm.. i hate the fact that the story is base in america~~

but love the opening and the art work,
it's a lot like america, didn't expect much since it was the 1st ep but it shows potential

i just hope it doesn't get repetitive and typical .-.

i'll watch it but i'm not expecting much

I don't mind the story being in America, I liked Soul Eater (their school is located in Nevada if I'm not mistaken) but there are a lot of stereotypes and stuff that remind me of Marvel comics which are on a way lower level than manga imho. I liked the animation, Bones are doing a very good job and the music is ok but aside from that this show is not much to my liking.

Why I think this show is gonna be vastly entertaining, i point to the opening. I saw ALOT of potential in it. I saw heroman beating the shit out of lots of aliens. I hope thats how its gonna be. ^-^

the animation quality was really great.
however, this anime fails in characters.

i cant even tell if the main character, joey, is a guy or girl.
and he doesnt even act like a man. and hes supposed to be in what, high school?
he acts like an elementary student.

also, the enemies are insect looking aliens? cliche, cliche, cliche.

so far, it seems that heroman is one of those superhero anime for little children

I actually liked this a lot. The colors were wonderfully fresh and the whole thing was just campy fun. This has guilty pleasure potential.

My opinion of this might be slightly elevated though since I watched it right after the god awful Kaichou wa Maid-sama.

The execution is definitely decent and the animation quite good, but the core is so cliche that I can't see this going anywhere interesting.

Though it's scary how much more enjoyable it is when you let yourself believe Joey is a girl. Cute nerd girl with nice hips, a lesbian love interest and a robot to eventually be badass alongside. . .

WTF!?

It's the first time in like what? two years since I signed in in MAL that I will comment an episode in the deay of its release... and why? becouse is too strange!!!

OK, is not the first time that an anime occurs in "America" (preffers United States... Central and South America are ALSO America ¬¬), but is too weird~!!!! the sky is too blue, the flag appeareance is annoying, and the plot is americanesque cliche! TT^TT

OK, animation was rather good, the character design, I loved it, Music, good enough, but HELL NOO!!! I was strugling myself to watching it untill the end. This anime was made for kids and mass teenagers audience (as Naruto, FMA, Bleach and Reborn!, that's why it has the lyrics in the OP)...

It would be einteresting to see how it develops, but I don`t have the time XP

It seems like Bones is using some newbie seiyuus for this one. Not a bad attempt, but some part sounds unfitting, especially Lina. Animation quality is too good, expected from bones. I would watch it just for that.

Story is basically mix of Gurren Lagann and Ben 10. Bah.

Well it is kinda weird to watch an anime when the story and the hero is not Japanese, anyway the beginning reminds me of something I thought one day watching X-Files that trying to contact extraterrestrial been isn't such a good idea; it's like asking to get enslaved.

Joey looks so much like a girl, why is that? And I don't think it is legal for him to work how old he is?

I don't think any parent rich or not will not say anything when you broke a $350 toys!

If Heroman can do teletransportation there was no need for him to break Joey's wall, and why did he only save Joey's friend and dad what about the truck driver and the other guy.

The whole thing is just like old-school!

to be honist, i thought the main character "Joey" was a chick, long hair, feminine body, and the voice sounded like a girls.

over all, i like the anime, but animes like these are really common, so unquie-ness is a bit lacking.

what i mean by "anime like these" is a simple; one character thinking he/she cant do anything but wants to (change the world, save ppl, what ever it is) and then being grant the opportunity (ie. super powers, resources, GIANT FRICKEN ROBOTS, etc..)

im not saying i dont like those types of animes, just hoping Heroman brings somthing new on the table.
