Yeah 100 million for Pogba is insane especially since he is not even the best midfielder in his team though Man United do need a player like him and they have cash to burn. |

That is one thing that annoys me: all the time being told again and again how super genius coaches the likes of Mourinho, Guardiola et al are - yet somehow they can't be successful if they do not get exactly this and that and that player for some 100s of mio. € / PS ? In that way I find relative success(es) by small(er) clubs, and also selection football more interesting - they have to make sth. out of what they were given, and not out of "every whish granted". ------------------------------- "My" club is off to training camp. Of the two new inner defenders, one is Finnish :) - 5 years after Petri Pasanen left. My favoured idea for signing was Daniele Rugani on loan for 2 years (Juventus), but well … |

under 21 teams being able to play in the JPT is a bit shit.....know the bigger clubs in league 1 dont give a shit about but for lower/midtable clubs that have fuck all chance of promotion its a nice little trophy they can aim for be a bit shit if someone like Southampton under 21s win it |

I'm outraged. We weren't invited despite the fact we go to u21 games in our thousands and have recently had our category 1 status renewed for another few years. U21s do need more games though, only 22 league games per season in the u21 premier league so it's understandable that they're trying new things. |

Frankly no one should command such a fee even in this bonkers of a market, except maybe Messi. |

Under Conte Italy looked as united as the 2006 world cup side. The old 'grinta' was present in each and every member of the squad. I'm actually a bit optimistic about Italy's chances in 2018. Which means they'll obv get out of the group stage..... |

Zoff in goal covered by the defensive line of Scirea-Gentile-Cabrini (my 2nd fav after the great back four of 90's Milan), with players like Platini and Rossi. Pretty intimidating. Though I personally prefer the 90's Juve since Baggio was a part of it :) |

@Brynhildr Haha thx. Ventura should do well with the talents that he will have in his disposal. Donnaruuma, Rugani, Romagnoli, Berardi will be excellent additions to the current squad. The only concern is that we still don't have a truly world class striker like Superpippo, Toni or even a Di Natale. |

@DateYutaka Not much to complain really though I'd put Buffon over Zoff and Baggio over one of Charles or Rossi Love the fact that you put Nedved in there. Incredibly underrated and should be mentioned alongside the very best players of his era imho. Could Thuram work in a 3-4-3 as an RCB? If so I'll pick him as well |

Yeah, Verratti will also probably be playing better than ever, so the midfield is looking solid as well. Italy look very good, much will be expected, which is a curse of course. I think Italy wouldn't have a striker problem if Balotelli wasn't so stupid. |

People here probably know about this but no harm in posting anyway... Europe's qualifying groups for the WC 2018: Group A - France, Netherlands, Sweden, Bulgaria, Belarus, Luxembourg Group B - Portugal, Switzerland, Hungary, Faroe Islands, Latvia, Andorra Group C - Germany, Czech Rep., Northern Ireland, Norway, Azerbaijan, San Marino Group D - Wales, Austria, Rep. of Ireland, Serbia, Georgia, Moldova Group E - Romania, Poland, Denmark, Montenegro, Armenia, Kazakhstan Group F - England, Slovakia, Slovenia, Scotland, Lithuania, Malta Group G - Spain, Italy, Albania, Israel, Macedonia, Liechtenstein Group H - Belgium, Bosnia & H., Greece, Estonia, Cyprus, Gibraltar Group I - Croatia, Iceland, Ukraine, Turkey, Finland, Kosovo Not really feeling much optimistic about topping the group coz Spain. We have a history of struggling against weaker sides as well so its going to be struggle for Ventura and co England will probably steam roll their group as usual, albeit Slovakia will probably scare them with their haircuts. That's all. The same goes for France (unless the Dutch can recuperate), Germany and Belgium. Iceland should get to the playoffs since Croatia will be their only competition. The new Greece aka our Euro champs are in the same group as the mighty Faroe Islands. Well well well... |
