If you were to choose, which of these two types of bad pacing is worse and why?

Edit: Rushed pacing, like in Tokyo Ghoul, Snail pacing, like in One Piece. Removed the examples in the poll since it influences people.

At least with snail pacing you can grow expectations that keep you interested, while rushed pacing is in general associated to a lack of proper emotional involvement and therefore failure to keep an interest. I'd say snail pacing (defined as detrimentally slow, since there's nothing inherently bad with slow pacing) is better for this matter, though not exactly preferable.

It's not slow pace, it's snail pace, as in extremely slow, with a lot of recaps, etc

How is that even relevant? it adds to the slow pace, by slowing down progression, problem is not watching them or not.

A rushed anime can still be enjoyable in certain circumstances. An anime which drags every scene can't.
5 main aspects I base my ratings on:
1. Did DramaEnthusiast make a thread about it?
2. Is it better than Breaking Bad?
3. Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it?
4. Has it caused a (very entertaining) shitstorm on MAL?
5. Is it actually good?

Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant...

It really depends on how they do it. Some anime can pull off a snail pace, while others can't. I enjoy One Piece, but some areas of Bleach sucked. But overall I would rather have it snail than fail with a race pace.

Rushed pacing takes less time, and will probably reach some sort of conclusion. It's easier to see the potential in a rushed series rather than a slow one.

A slow pace makes the ideas look hopeless and dull. A rushed pacing makes them look like they just need a more experienced creator.

Slow pace causes hope, which is then crushed.

Less thinking for fast pace, so less criticism on my part.

in almost all circumstances (bad, decent, or good show), a rushed pace is preferable. although, a good show wouldn't have either and rushed nor a snail's pace.

if a good show were to have a rushed or snail's pace, i wouldn't mind either way cause it's a good show :P

Snail pacing is better. At least I know what's going on.

The worse pacing I've ever seen was probably from the last two episodes of Sekai Seifuku. I still don't remember anything that happened.

Even when I think about examples, I still prefer snail pacing.
Something like Shinsekai Yori's first half may be very slow, but it has context and sets up for the latter parts. A more popular example would probably be steins gate.
Snail pacing can still be done right. Even if the story doesn't advance much, it can set up its characters, themes, setting, etc.

On the other hand, I can't think of anything a rushed pacing can be used for. Something like SAO's first half or Mirai Nikki's latter parts felt blegh. With rushed pacing, I can't involve myself so much since if something happens, I ask "why should I care if x dies?"

Snail pacing, I have absolutely no problem with the story progressing slowly if there are other aspects in the show that I can enjoy like overall comedy, character interactions and so on. Rushed stories can never satisfy you.

I'll tolerate snail pace for a few episodes if the title is like a top 20 but I refuse to be bored to death when I have 220 titles more deserving of my time to watch.

Snail Pacing is better than Rushed.
When they rush something they tend to skip things and I hate when they do that.

Both are equal bad. but snail pacing can be fixed with increase speed, or skip it (for filler). the only thing can fixed rushed pacing are read the original sorce. so my vote goes to rushed.

Slow pacing. But there are cases that rushed pacing is even worse. And they don't really risk that much with slow pacing, except of viewer's boredom.whereas fast pacing ruins everything

I vote for 'snail' pacing. If the other option was 'fast' pacing instead (the actual opposite), it'd maybe be a harder choice.

Id say rushed pacing because that can really ruin an anime, but an anime with a slow pace can still have a good plot and therefore be interesting :)
