[quote=bastek66]Penis arm confirmed. Madhouse confirmed for based studio, again.

The dick hand reminded me of the anime GTO where Onizuka also had a dick hand for a brief moment.

Wow an engaging episode, i really like the thrill in some scenes, cause the series have shown how brutal and relentlessly it can be turn out in mere seconds. And I like how both perspective of Shinichi and 'Migi' are portrayed. Migi is a really creepy fallow, in this episode he has shown it even more.

Migi is into one-eyed hebi-s. Murano, not there just yet, but didn't give Shinichi's right hand a chance to ruin their date.

Love that the are talking about how the parasites aren't actually that bad, if you compare them to humans at least. I expected this show to be just some random gore fest, but am so far pleasantly surprised. Not feeling the dubstep though.

Loving what they're doing with this adaptation: tasteful censorship, great humour and perfect handling of the transitions between srs bsnss and more light-hearted moments.

Awesome episode. Was quite annoyed when the girl noticed what was happening to the cat and then said "Let's go." Well aren't you fabulous.

Opening scene was brutal with that dude escorting the woman home lol. Shinichi/Migi are great, already feelin' the bond getting better between them. I'm hoping the girl doesn't serve as some sort of damsel in distress somewhere in the future. Looking forward to seeing what happens next :D I still wasn't a fan of the dubstep but I'm getting a little more used to it.

Lion scene comes next episode, probably right at the beginning. Mr. A should be introduced and the new teacher (forgot her name) as well, but yeah, Mr A did already appear in this one.

In what way are they different? Shinichi is exactly the same character he was in the manga, same with Murano and Migi. If anything, they made Shinichi more expressive, which isn't really a bad thing at all(Heck, he was fairly stiff in the manga).

Let's be honest, that is probably what most people would do.

Let's be honest, the situation itself was ridiculous. Doing that when the park entrance is literally 10 seconds away? Three teenagers without bikes or any quick means of escape? You must live in some pretty ghetto neighborhood if you think the natural reaction for most people would be to simply ignore it and walk off. If they weren't physically able to intervene they'd at least call local authorities or simply knock on some doors in the surrounding area. Not simply 'Let's fucking walk off'.

There are two types of people I have never met:

1. People scum enough to just walk away.
2. People stupid enough to do that like 3 metres away from the street.

I think he is. >< The best example would be his reaction to Migi's help during the basketball game.

And in ep.1 Shinichi's parents were really unlikeable, almost as if they had a disfunctional family.

I don't want to critisize the show too much, but I can't understand, where all the praise comes from. This much praise, I mean. Either way, I won't argue about it too much. I liked the manga, and it's enough for me.

Really unlikable family..? They were kidding around with their son... that's not normal? Heck, I think neglectful parents or over protective parents would be far worse.

Dad points at a spider to freak his son out = dysfunctional family? In what world? What did they do that was dysfunctional? O_o

Anyway, I can sort of see your point in terms of Shinichi however it's a really small thing that doesn't remotely bother me. I think the fact that he isn't as hesitant about the idea of abusing his powers but keeps an eye on not abusing them too much is more realistic to be honest however I do see both perspectives working well from a narrative point of view.

Notice that it wasn't me, who pointed out the scene with the spider. :D I dunno, I would expect that a caring parent would rather take away the poor animal before his arachnophobic son became scared.
But they also were kind of detached, and made jokes about Shinichi all the time, it looked almost like a minor abuse to me. I don't intend to nitpick, but by the end of the episode I was disturbed - they didn't look like a happy family at all. Considering their role in the plot, I was surprised.

I think that the chemistry between characters in this anime doesn't click with me. I don't see it between Shinichi and Murano as well. Probably, it's just something personal and highly subjective, but what can I do, if it's the way I view it.

It is interesting to analyze the changes, at least. However I don't think that I'll watch all the 24 episodes.

I posted my critical opinion more for the sake of diversity in this thread. Maybe someone like-minded will read through it later (as I often do) and feel sad, that everybody likes everything about the episode and he doesn't have a soulmate, and then he will read my post, and see that he is not alone in this sad and lonely world. Something like that :D

And being BA in the sandbox - nice!

I'm going to throw this anime into the faces of everyone whimping in TG and terraformars threads about censorship. This is how you do this when you have balls (like you don't censor at all). I'm getting more disturbed by black bars than by any gore/h scenes.
God bless Madhouse!

oh i undersand u dont like censorships, like me, but most of studio cant afford to pay tax for being uncensored, or if u break law, u have to pay a big fine, a real big. and Madhouse is a big company and they know Kiseijuu will be a great hit that why they decide that way

That wasn't abusive at all. Shinichi showed no signs that he was being abused. If that's abuse than I guess I've been abused all my life because they remind me a lot of my parents(Heck, they are probably a bit nicer than mine, not that I hate my parents, I love them, just saying). Now, in some ways I guess you could see them wanting him to get over his fear is somewhat bad but honestly I don't see it that way, I think they just want him to face it, I doubt they capture bugs and dangle them in his face or anything, he just points at a bug to see him freak out, no harm done. Also, detached? Shinichi cries for help and they rush over almost immediately, heck he didn't even cry for help, they rushed over before he could yell anything, if anything that shows a very functional and caring family to me.

As for the chemistry, in the first episode I would agree but in this one they gave Shinichi and Murano more focus and showed the sides of Shinichi that Murano likes, Murano wasn't really all that interesting in the manga either so I do kinda hope they give her more personality but I won't hold my breath. lol

Also, I am perfectly okay with you posting a different opinion in this thread, I like discussions with people... though I am much better at criticizing than I am at defending unfortunately... Lmao

There are some differences from the anime but it's not a bad adaption by any stretch. The story is still playing out the same, the characters are more or less the exact same and it has the added bonus of being extremely well animated and great quality art overall. The dubstep sometimes bothers me but for the most part the music can be good at tension building and atmosphere. I also like the songs that play in light hearted moments.

You're kinda over exaggerating the seriousness of that scene imo. My brother is afraid of insects and I've messed with him plenty of times and he and I are still on good terms. All I can think of is that your have a different upbringing than most people which is what lead you to think like that.

I don't think I can do the music in this show, but that's arguably the least of it's problems. Pretty bloody disappointing so far for a show I expected to like. Have yet to really get attached to anything and the overall vibe of the show isn't helping much either. I tend to like Madhouse too like a little of people here but it doesn't mean anything if they aren't putting their best foot forward with a show which doesn't seem to be the case here. Like nothing stands out about this show at the moment as particularly gripping, it just seems to lack any sort of clear direction as well, but I'm willing to give it time.

I should inform you that this series does not put much emphasis on the action side of things. It's very much a psychological horror drama instead of an action series. It has action and sometimes its really good but that is not the main focus of the series for the most part.

Migi is hilarious. ''Come on, get a hard-on!''
Poor Shinichi, if it continue like that, he'll become a public wanker.

I just realized that Satomi is voiced by HanaKana :O
Also, is it me or she seem to know more than she let believe... Maybe she realized that a member of her family as started to act weird?

Shinichi is kind of a boss to decide to confront the other dude. A lot of us, including myself, would have been pissing ourself.

I wonder if at some point Migi psyche will change. For now, he pretty mucxh only help Shinichi only to survive, but it can't continue like that for 22 episodes without some changes in his view of the world.
