Explains the bad art in chapter 349, I hope he gets better soon.
Also, finally WSJ is giving out reasons for his hatus. They should have done so the last dozen times.

if Togashi drawing causes him to take hiatuses then they should consider another artist to take his place and just let Togashi make the story telling part, or even better Togashi should just make Hunter x Hunter a light novel so that he will not draw anymore

As someone who suffers from serious lower back issues (including at this very moment) I can’t even imagine the idea of trying to draw a weekly manga serialization when it’s bad. If Togashi has a serious and chronic back problem, that would explain a lot about his hiatus problems – though I don’t know why they’d admit it now and not earlier, as it’s nothing to be ashamed of.

And so it begins. With the anime ending, I finally get to experience what it's like to be at the whim of Togashi's breaks and hiatuses. This is just two weeks though -- I hope and pray it won't go beyond that.

There are people who have been working at Madhouse,namely Yoshiaki Kawajiri(Ninja Scroll, Vampire Hunter D), since it was founded in 1972. Going by your logic, 40+ > 30+. Besides, that one guy whose name I can't remember has pretty good art.

Have you ever experienced severe back ache? You can't seriously expect him to draw while sitting on a recliner or while lying down right?

At least they gave us the reason for the hiatus for a change. I hope he gets better, truly I do. I haven't been this excited for a Hunter x Hunter chapter since Yorknew. Usually though we just get the hiatus with a deal with it attitude from Togashi/Jump.

Reminds me of this scene of the departed. Just replace 'feds' with HxH fans.

Monthly manga is not a good solution.... That's 12 chapters a year... Even with his hiatuses we would end up with more chapters if it's weekly. A lot more chapters.

Not if Togashi screws up his health so badly trying to keep up that he ends up needing to take a year off.

Also - monthly serialization chapters are, on average, about twice as long as weekly. So it would be closer to getting 20-25 of the chapters we get now.
