Welp, Alka actually shows some more of a gentle side. More flashbacks with Alka and her master reminds her of what's going on in the present I suppose.

Anyways, idk how far her quest will take her. So many death flags around her, seems like anyone near her will die About damn time she fought against Varel again though.

That was a nice end. Aruka defeated Jin Varel but Yuu unfortunately died as well. It will be interesting to see what happens with those 2 people who were with Jin Varel.

Really fast pace episode.
So the whole gang got to be together for a short moment.
Alka was unusually talkative and emotional.
Jin Varel appeared rather quickly, the battle felt a little bit rushed.
Sad to see Yuu go out like that.

Wow, this show.

That's pretty much how I felt. I didn't really see any reason why I should care about the death of an undeveloped character like Jin Varel, since all she had going for her was being evil, and a single stab wound turns black leather into white? If the impurity makes the body disappear, why didn't it do the same for Yuu? The fight was lackluster, and the main antagonist gets offed early on without any exposition. At least they gave Yuu some good screen time before he died.

Jin Hazuki is a pretty stupid character as well. All we've seen from her is that she's trying to kill someone who she initially got along well with for petty money alone, but usually does her job half-assed at the most convenient times by backing off whenever Karen says so, or she just doesn't feel like it.

So now it's Aruka vs Karen next episode? Hope that bitch Karen dies. In fact, I don't care if the whole roster of characters dies, since I doubt the show will do any better.

Wow, that was some animation. I would enjoy reading manga much more instead of watching the fight in this episde. those moves, gosh it was bad...

At least there was a lot of action on a bed.

The battle wasn't half bad, though too much lightening strikes kinda disrupted the flow rather than making it a bit epic..
Poor Yuu.. For a moment I thought he was gonna live..

So, did Aruka rid Jin of her Impurity aura? She was turning into her white version.. Or was it just temporary?

Missed that white haired guy and his philosophical monologue.. Hope he appears in the next episode.

I don't think Jin Varrel died. Looks to me more like she teleported out of there. Way too anticlimactic for her to die that way considering that she's the main villain as shown in the opening. Maybe by getting stabbed by Alka she awakened to a new power and had to go home to harness it. At least that's what I'm guessing happened.

WTF Jin died?? She's like an impurity time bomb. Hopefully she'll appear again.

So my guess from a few episodes back that this was more of a story of Aruka being more human than a story of revenge was correct. Seems like we'll learn more about the mark although it's pretty clear the flower monks targeted the clan because they're the only ones who can withstand impurity. I won't be surprised if Jin was actually from the same clan as Aruka.

The fight was mediocre for the most part but Yuu pushing back impurities while Aruka attacked was quite cool. Next episode is finally Karen's back story.

Because he contained it with his power?. I also won't count against Jin appearing in the future and that girl who seems to control Jin from the beginning is most likely the real antagonist.

Oï Oî..

That battle... How they animated it. It"s nearly identical to the 5th Saint Seiya Movie. Everything is the same. How they move, how they clash, how the shooting is done, how the camera move.

It's too much to be a mere coincidence. Who the hell is the staff behind this episode ?

Hrmmmm....

I'm not sure what to make of this episode. I couldn't really figure out if there was a point, or if the entire concept of this episode was to flash random shit at us for no reason at all.

The pacing was atrocious, couldn't keep any semblance of flow at all. The fight was poorly animated and the lightning was more a distraction than an enhancement, the only really cool part was weird animal kid keeping the impurity at bay.

Considering this series hasn't really explained anything that it's given us thus far, I'm still lost as to exactly what the point behind the butterfly mark is. I'm guessing it's supposed to allow Alka to fight the impurity, and if I'm not mistaken it healed her of the impurity at one point, so why couldn't she save the weird animal kid with it?

If Jin Varrel is really dead that would be a complete waste of what could have been an epic showdown, if Jin Varrel is actually still alive it's just poor story development. It's lose/lose either way.

This is probably the worst episode so far. 4/10 is the best I can give this one.
Odds are I'm not going to find my way back to a thread after my first post, it happens on occasion but not often. So, if I say something that offends you and you feel the need to force your opinion on me because obviously everyone should have your opinion or none at all, feel free to post it in the thread that I'll probably never see again. However, if you are interested in intelligent discourse, feel free to message me.

Awesome episode full of development and I'm amazed at the fight between Jin x Alka.

Still a huge mystery behind Jin history and past, her white clothing during her death scene. I hope she comes back somehow or is related to Alka somehow...

Yun death... omg this episode could of been 2-3 instead of one. What a waste of good series :(

This episode was indeed made by the same director. Shigeyasu Yamauchi directed and storyboarded ths episode. Furthermore his bro Junichi Hayama was the animaton director. That's the reason why this episode as well as the characters looked and moved so different.

Yamauchi is a actually a pretty great director, but his reliance on close-ups doesn't work so well with action scenes. Just look at the fights in Casshern Sins or Yumekui Merry.

I love how when the midget says "If the impurity spreads through my entire body, I'll die" , everyone gasps in this solemn moment except Alka, whose just grinning and nonchalant as fuck.

Am I the only person underwhelmed by this supposedly "dramatic" final battle between Jin and Alka? Kinda looked like they danced around to a lightning background and then boom, the end.

I was pleased with this episode mostly because Alka showed more personality. I liked that she came out of her shell a bit like when they shared that egg looking food. I actually hated this show earlier on for Alka being so quiet, so in this episode where people see not-so-intense fight, I see this episode as good because it gave Alka the character development that I had been waiting for. Before this episode I also felt a little surge of emotion coming from Alka when she let that guy who hired her die, I was like :0 Cause she actually picked sides for a lady that was little more than an acquaintance (Karen).

Well! I am puzzled about the clash, if they do it again, I'd be happy to see him.
Narration very spiritual, with yet another sad moment.
Jeez! They die like flies ...
It's not bad storytelling but in some places it runs too, do not hurt the plot becomes more Alka centric this time.
Drawing enough, I wonder if they put a apezza during the BD, so it's a shame to see them and they should also better tailor the narrative ...
Oh well, we'll see!
The next episode looks interesting, but I wonder what Ran is pointing?

This is nowhere near related to Casshern Sins. Casshern Sins was a lot slower paced with fight scenes to break the monotony but to be honest, I thought Casshern Sins was great unlike this pathetic anime.

Hah hah, so I watched the fight and I though "this feels like wannabe Casshern Sins, I wonder if some of the same storyboarders or animators worked on it?" Then I went onto ANN and found out that, surprise surprise, Shigeyasu Yamauchi, who directed casshern sins, also storyboarded this episode.

The good part about this is that he's developed a unique style that is recognizable in any anime.

The bad part is that his style didn't really work so well for this fight scene. There were too many close ups and I think the fight would have benefited from more intensity. At least it was *interesting* though, which isn't something we can really say about most of this series.
