GTO is awesome as well. I can very easily see why some would rate it higher than NGE.

I haven't seen either NGE or GTO, but my opinion would probably stay the same. Cowboy Bebop is one of the very few things i call true masterpieces.

And GTO on second place. Seriously, those two anime are freaking awesome.

The 90's was an awesome decade for anime, so much good stuff. I wonder when we get to 2010 and make our 'best anime of the decade' lists, which list will have more quality.

Yeah. The answer is obvious. There is no need to try and be original.

Between NGE and Cowboy Bebop is a very hard choice.

So I say DBZ.

Edit: Read second page now. NGE ftw. Did not watch it during the 90s, though.

I still don't get why everyone thinks that NGE is such a great show sure it was ok but it was a bit to different of a series for my liking. There were many things that did not make much sense and I never did like shinji he was a winy coward. The show did make up for it a bit in some pretty crazy action scene's for its time though.

NGE was good for the industry, but not the best. There's lots of stuff that could be considered the best: Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, GTO, etc.

Well.. IMHO, NGE is the best anime.. But I can understand people that don't agree with that..

But at least you have to admit that Eva is the most important anime of the 90s, the anime that changed the ways of the anime industry..

I don't think it changed the industry, just opened it up to more possibilities. Same as what Cowboy Bebop did.

I think NGE is the most relevant anime of the '90s and its eschatological angst, but Cowboy Bebop might be the better series.

If we're including End of Evangelion, though... there's the winner.

Random: Perfect Blue helped 'legitimise' anime for po-faced westerners whose diet only consisted of Miyazaki. Didnt help much though, those po-faced westerners diet is now just Miyazaki and Perfect Blue. (oO)

One of those anime that I just couldn't stop watching back in '95, I can't remember how many times I went to rent that movie on VHS.
