Rain was overdone, rest of it was good though.

As for the Rea suicide or pushed thing. I think Rea was starting to become sick from the potion she took and was becoming weak. She was staggering around the cliffside. I would equate her condition to someone who was weak from flu like symptoms or buzzed from alcohol. I think stiff breeze would have been enough to push her off the cliff. It just happened that her asshole retard father swatting at her and the cat was what did the trick.
Yes I would agree with that too. I also think weight might be a cause too since wind was strong and balance was involved.

It's really a shame Rea did not listen to more than one movie of zombies, she would know Babu would not matter if he got hurt. I was seriously thinking for something more drama even in the manga with the father. I do know they conveyed the set-up of father's mistake on daughter to have caused death but there are many ways to go about. I will leave it at that.

Nice episode indeed, nice enough to make me reading its manga ^.^
Seems like the manga didn't show Rea sexual abused as detail as the Anime did LOL

I never knew that the " Sankarea" 's title is actually based on movie named zombi 2(Japanese:Sangeria) in 1979 .Of course... both title totally have different story and plot.Though I don't know why the Japanese call it Sangeria( took me some time researching this but I gave up lol ).

This episode was awesome, absolutely loved it. I gotta say, this part in the manga was fucking awesome so I just couldn't wait for this part to be animated and it didn't disappoint at all. :D

Her dad is seriously an obsessive maniac; not allowing Rea to do anything, no freedom at all. Gotta feel sorry for Rea. Furuya ditching Wanko was pretty hilarious though leaving Wanko there alone, stuck in that tunnel was pretty inconsiderate of him. :S

The scene where Rea fell off the cliff and died was amazing. Rea falling to her death was done really well. I didn't mind the censorship at all, actually preferred it that way. Furuya crying was pretty sad. Finally, Rea awakening for the first time as a zombie, HECK YEAH!!! >=D Rea's red eyes looks so awesome. Rea's father deserves that, for being such a horrible father, I mean WTF! Furuya X Zombie Rea, aww yeah.

The rain was way too forced but it still made quite an impact on the scene. Would have been better if it was already drizzling at the start though.

Overall giving this episode a 5/5. Fucking loved it. Rea's zombie life finally begins. :)

Well, if this wasn't a show where dead come back to life this would have been really sad scene. Nevertheless it was still kinda sad, but also "happy" in a way, because it was obvious she's gonna be resurrected. Looking forward to more of this, great series.

And yes: BABU!

If you think that the censorship "ruined" that scene, then you're looking for the wrong sort of impact (or you're just out to complain about all TV censorship). As much as seeing her spilled-out intestines would've driven home her zombification, the scene didn't need it -- it wanted it, but didn't need it.

Why are people complaining about censorship? Not much more was shown in the Manga + this is a TV-broadcast anime. They can't just show intestines hanging out of people.

Few things to note here:

Rea was never raped, her father is just extremely protective.

Whether or not she attempted suicide is not defined. In the manga it's generally believed that she fell off accidentally, though she was nonetheless not bothered by the fact that she could have/did die there.

There's still no valid source that cites the anime as a 13 episode series, but if that's the case and the current pace continues we should be finishing somewhere near the point that

Hopefully we get some closure, especially on the festival events and the hotel scene.

Yeah, Rea may have not been rape by her pedophile daddy, but here's the fact, not all acts of phedopillia involves banging a kid, there are some forms of phedophillia were the perv get their sexual satiafaction by either smelling certain items that a child have worn or by simply doing some indirct sexual advances to a child, take note that these kinds of pedophile will not bang the child. There also other weird cases were the pedophile would very possesive on a certain kid to the point that he'll isolate that kid from everyone else. Usually those kinds of pedophile get their sexual satitisfaction by simply seeing thier kid bitches naked. In this anime Rea daddy is one such case of pedophile who get his sexual satisfaction by treating her as his property and taking nude pictures of her, is her father way of having sexual satistfaction.

In fact psychologist stated that pedophiles who bangs and toutures a child are the most extrame forms of pedophilia.

Wanko is an older cousin who should know better, and Furuya already told her not to follow him several times. So it's her problem that she wants to be a stalker.

It may have been portrayed different in the manga than in the anime, but def not a suicide. Stating that her standing between her father and Babu is akin to laying on railroad tracks is a poor comparison. She has an attachment to Babu, as something precious shared between her Furuya, whom she obviously developed feelings for. Her intervention between her father and Babu from an unforeseen attack was an instanteous reaction to protect that special bond, not a premeditated attempt at suicide.

It could be considered closer to murder than suicide, using your logic, though. Her father, knowing she was in between him and the cat in a precarious location, still chose to attack with the whip using a forehand swing. If he had any concern for his daughter's life, even a backhand swing would have thrown her towards the mountain, instead of off the side.

I still think the anime provided ample evidence implying her death was more a suicide than an accident or murder. Suicide by definition implies both one's intent to die and one's direct involvement in death. The special bond between Babu and Rea might have triggered her defensive reaction that led to her death, but isn't that also a clear sign of self-sacrifice.

Before that, Rea attempts one last time to forgive her father if he gave freedom to her. When that failed, Rea pleads with her father to give her an extra day while he grabs her and pulls her away, implying that she only wanted to warn our zombie freak of his impeding manhood doom, nothing more. She had not a care for anything else, even her own life anymore, except to save who she considers her only friend. The special bond with Babu and Rea's risking of her life to warn Chihiro--both should solidify her intent of self-sacrifice, another form of suicide (also referred to as altruistic suicide). On the other hand, I am not quite sure she had the intent of becoming a zombie (realizing Babu's alive) at the point of her death. That was probably more a consequence that intention.

The problem with suicide, however, arises because Rea didn't directly cause her own death. This dilemma either begs to redefine suicide or categorize her death as something else. This certainly isn't murder because the father had no intent to kill his daughter. It might be considered manslaughter on the father's part, but I feel uncomfortable labeling it as such with all the intent on Rea's part. All her actions up to the point of her death signal suicide to me. Though the cause of her death may be an 'accident' and maybe even a small breeze might have pushed her off the cliff, Rea wouldn't have died if the circumstances (if she hadn't the intent to die) were even slightly different. The culmination of fear of her father and apathy of her life, to me, makes this a suicide. Regardless, the anime did a wonderful job portraying the moments before Rea's death. My only concern is that the anime will trivialize Rea's death.

She was essentially committing suicide, though strictly speaking, her falling is an accident.

I'll have to respectfully disagree. Just because you're suicidal at one point in time, doesn't mean you're suicidal all the time. The act of suiciding is the pinnacle of depression (even depression might be a light hearted way of putting it).

Based off what we know of this character, the act of defending the cat was simply due to her naivety and carelessness. She was just caught up in the situation and did was she felt was right - it had nothing to do with any suicidal thoughts whatsoever. She's essentially an air-head, I highly doubt she was able to read the situation; the only thing that was on her mind was to protect that cat from her oppressive father. Nothing to do with "Oh, I'll just protect this cat on the edge of this cliff - potentially risking my life, but I don't care because I'm suicidal anyway". I doubt it was like that.
