Hey, just noticed I'll soon have a 2000th completed anime, anyone has a suggestion for something that would be "2000"-related? I tried to check upon the 2000th entry on the db but I already watched that https://myanimelist.net/anime/2000
Thanks!

How about an anime from the year 2000? Unless you have seen those aswell :D
When will Black Clover release new anime?! It has been 3 years already since March 2021...

I don't know who quotes me and then deletes the comment, but know that you make my day.

@Coaghim the few 2000 animes I haven't watched yet that interest me are not related to any 2 unfortunately, it's more of a title thing I'd say (I know I'm being a bit annoying here sorry). Thanks tho

@Zarutaku Maybe I'll check on that if I got nothing better in the end but it seems more trolly rather than interesting haha

@BenjaminJunior Looks like some of the worst garbage ever, but it double fits the 2000 theme with the title and airdate, plus it's only 30min long in total.

Some possibilities from your PTW:

Angel's Egg -- if you want something weird/unique/memorable, but also quick to watch.

Captain Future -- as 2000 was once considered a far-off, "distant future" year.

Excel Saga -- a Fall 1999 2-cour series that extended into Winter 2000, and imo provided a "curtain call" for 90s anime; it parodied a lot of popular shows and genres from that time, and had a glossy/shiny look more similar to early-00s anime than to 90s anime.

Now and Then, Here and There -- another critically-acclaimed anime, and one that barely extended into the year 2000.

Outlaw Star -- a onetime major "gateway anime" (along with its 1998 sci-fi peers, Cowboy Bebop and Trigun) for the anime fandom in the early 2000s.

The Twelve Kingdoms -- a well-respected "quality isekai" series from the early 2000s; like most such series, it features a female protagonist rather than a male one. Hailing from the Spring 2002 season, 12K was actually the first "digipaint" TV series animated in HD.

@Zalis Oh, Captain Future would be a great recommendation for this one, I'll think about it!

And basically the rest really seems great but as I pinpointed before, it would be more a theme/title thing. Not only animes which aired in 2000

It's one shy, but X/1999. It's been a long time, but I don't really remember anything special about it. Closest thing I can recommend to a 2000 theme/title.
I could rec a few outside of the stated theme that according to your list you haven't seen, but dunno if you liked them. Or if you're solely looking for theme related.

Flip Flappers from your plan to watch list. It's a very cool show. I also love the ED.

When I was finally close to 1,000, I didn't particularly put much thought into it, so not really sure what to recommend. Best I can do is toss out something and hope you haven't seen it yet. And the best chance of that is to pick some lesser known/weird shit. And when I think of lesser known weird shit, I think of something that just happens to be from the 2000s. A little movie called Dead Leaves.

However other recs still don't happen to please me so I'll probably go for https://myanimelist.net/anime/22561/Virtual_Star_2000
Bikkuriman or Pokémon 2000 could have been great but either I've seen it, or it just seems really really bad (I already watched one Bikkuriman series, and that was crap)
