A lot of Gundam fans will probably tell you this is definitely either the best Gundam series, or at least a top 5 one. Hell, maybe even one of the best animes of all time. Allow me to explain why many including myself feel this way which this review is of course for. Despite being a short oav series, it has a descent amount of character on both the Zeon and Federation’s side where they all stand out and get their chance to shine, and develop as a result of it. Every character has their own ambition and dreams out side of the war. Such read more

This gundam series differed completely from any other gundams I've watched. This is more of a lighthearted soldier's perception on the battlefield rather than the whole political and philosophical thinking that goes on in the other series. It really has a practical and direct style unlike the other gundams and takes a more lighter tone with a commander just trying to accomplish his missions with the help of his squad on an episode to episode basis. And you know what? Thats good. This show pulls it off with the enjoyment level. Shiro and his crew make read more

Both Gundam OVAs are very touching series that take place in universal century.
Both shows feature more down-to-earth ground combat where victory is fought hard for.Protagonists certainly cant boast that they have mighty Gundams capable of cleaning an entire battlefield from the enemy without getting a scratch. Both shows are drenched with good militarism.

RX-79[G] Ground Type Gundams are certainly nothing too powerfull, they are just highly performing Suits made from RX-78's spare parts(!) and dont hold much of an edge over lesser Mobile Suits. As for MS IGLOO 2...its about people without Giant Robots fighting Giant Robots and that should explain it.

There is also quite an emphasis on tactics and creativity in both shows.

However, while MS IGLOO 2 emhasizes on man vs MS battles,08th MS Team is mostly MS vs MS.Despite that, there is some Guerrila subplot in 08th MS Team, thus giving us a light man vs Mecha element.

Also I'd say that 08th Team has more solid and overall much better plot .Its also considered as one of the BEST Gundam shows by many.
