SynopsisThe brilliant Dr. Azuma created many robots to aid humankind. However, these robots cruelly decide that the only way to save the Earth is to wipe the humans from it! Tetsuya, Dr. Azuma's son, becomes the cyborg hero Casshern and along with his friends, a robot dog and beautiful woman they fight these robots in the hope of saving the world. |

Both Battle of the Planets (or Gatchaman if you prefer) and Neo-Human Casshern fall into the classic Anime Hero genre. Both are Tatsunoko giants about heroes taking on "evil empires" and monsters (or in Casshern's case robots) of the week.
