In 1987, a contract with the Tatsunoko Productions, the same as Speed Racer, launched in the market a TV series to exclusively sell video games (Master System) and toys (Light Phaser gun) on one of the largest and most ambitious marketing strategies have made. And to combat the invasion Noza, the army of Maris created a special team to combat them, the White Nuts, which consisted of 3 highly trained members: JJ, Champ and Apple.

Never has the world of anime met a hero as anti-hero "as JJ (pronounced Jota Jota in Brazilian version), he never named, said only on one episode that" JJ was his nom de guerre " . Since the "lovely" Champ is extremely conceited, perfectionist, wearing a good looking with a pint of larger and has a leading man at least strange hobby ... knitting. Oops, but make no mistake, he is one of the best shots of Maris. He is the leader of the "White Nuts", and is always fighting with JJ actually more like cat and dog, but deep down are best friends who compete for the attention of Apple.

The other characters in the team has to participate as ordinary, because without them everything would be the merit of chance, which is kind of strange to talk about them, but here goes: Deibo (Dave) takes care of all the electronics, designed most of the equipment used by the team (as Tricharger, the bike that turns armor) and is the ship's pilot of the White Nuts. Gord (Gordon) is the boss, he tries to balance the team, in addition to control too much, so do not jump on the neck of JJ every time the group returns from a mission. Amy, the chief secretary Gordon, silly, confused, distracted, naive .... ai ai ... so many qualities, and make a coffee can flatten the mood of any one and finally the mascot Opa Opa (Bongo) .

The Nozas emerge as the great villains of history and when it will give us that sadness .... after all was not quite what we thought the bad guys should do or be, Baron Ricks, for example, main rival of JJ, brings us the folly of anger at the beginning of the saga, but this changes our thinking until the very end of the series. In closing, due to many problems that occurred between SEGA and Tatsunoko (because of copyright) production was shut down with little more than half the number produced (31 of 50 episodes planned). Zillion is a number far beyond the other in the market, until the present day. I do not know if I ever come back to see characters as unique and charismatic again. What really is a shame.

Before a zillion-manic send me envelopes with anthrax ... I justify this note .... I'm a fan of Zillion, no doubt! Assim nascia Akai Koudan Zillion cujo sucesso estrondoso arrebatou o coração dos fãs de anime do mundo todo e chegou desbancar "Saint Seiya", ganhando dezenas de prêmios. Estreou no Japão em 12 de abril de 1987 e levou ao ar 31 episódios, chegou ao Brasil no mesmo ano, no entanto, os fãs da época, assim como eu, amarguraram a interrupção da série quase no seu final, mas a mesma chegou a ser exibida na integra em outra emissora (Gazeta).

No futuro, em 2387, a humanidade esta procurando colonizar outros planetas para aumentar suas fronteiras, um desses planetas é "Maris", que se torna uma segunda Terra. Mas, eis que surge uma raça superior aos humanos, os Nozas, que quer colonizar o planeta, e deste confronto surge uma guerra pela sobrevivência de ambas as raças. E para combater a invasão Noza, o exército de Maris criou uma equipe especial para combate-los, o White Nuts, que era composto por 3 membros altamente treinados: JJ, Champ e Apple.

Nunca o mundo dos animes conheceu um herói "tão anti-herói" como JJ (pronuncia-se Jota Jota na versão brasileira), ele nunca teve seu nome revelado, apenas disse em um dos episódios que esse "JJ era seu nome de guerra". Ele entrou na equipe "White Nuts" por puro engano, mas deixa isso pra lá (ele não fica bem com cara de arrependido), mas por sua coragem foi mantido na equipe. Fora dublado de uma forma super eficiente por Carlos Laranjeira, que fez trabalhos conhecidos em Jiraya, Flashman e Jiban, aliás, tão bem feito, que graças a ele temos o personagem mais resmungão, briguento, preguiçoso, irresponsável, comilão, depravado e safado que já existiu. Ele não perde a oportunidade de amassar os peitos e traseiros de qualquer mulher a vista e também tem o péssimo habito de espiar as mulheres trocando de roupa. Em suma, um tarado irremediável.

E junto com ele estão Apple e Champ. Ela, a única dos três que parece ser sensata, vem dosar a beleza e força feminina no anime. Corajosa, destemida e boa de briga, usa todos os seus dotes para chamar a atenção de JJ, sem que ele saiba disso (o que é relativamente fácil, já que JJ é bem boboca) e esta sempre esta as turras com JJ para se livrar de suas cantadas e mãos bobas. Ela tem uma queda por nosso anti-herói, na verdade arrasta um caminhão por ele (mas jamais admitiria isso) e acredita que ele algum dia vai tomar jeito (hum...que piada!)
Já o "adorável" Champ é extremamente vaidoso, perfeccionista, metido a gostosão com a maior pinta de galã e tem um hobby no mínimo estranho...fazer tricô. Opa, mas não se engane, ele é um dos maiores atiradores de Maris. Ele é o líder do grupo "White Nuts", e esta sempre brigando com JJ, na verdade mais parecem cão e gato, mas no fundo são grandes amigos que disputam a atenção de Apple.
Os outros personagens na equipe tem uma participação tão corriqueira, pois sem eles tudo ficaria a mérito do acaso, que é até meio estranho falar sobre eles, mas lá vai: Deibo (Dave) cuida de toda a parte eletrônica, projetou a maioria dos equipamentos usados pela equipe (como o Tricharger, a moto que vira armadura) além de ser o piloto da nave dos White Nuts. Gord (Gordon) é o chefe, ele tenta equilibrar a equipe, além de se controlar muito, para não pular no pescoço de JJ a cada vez que o grupo retorna de uma missão. Amy, a secretária do chefe Gordon, boba, atrapalhada, distraída, ingênua....ai ai...tantas qualidades, além de fazer um cafezinho capaz de arrasar o humor de qualquer um e por ultimo o mascote Opa Opa (Bongo).

Os Nozas surgem como os grandes vilões da história e quando se vão nos dão aquela tristeza.... afinal não era bem isso que pensávamos que os vilões deveriam fazer ou ser, o Barão Ricks, por exemplo, principal adversário de JJ, nos leva a loucura de raiva no início da saga, mas este nosso pensamento muda muito até o final da série. Mas é justamente no finalzinho, tudo se esclarece, a aparição das misteriosas armas de raios vermelhos (a origem do zillion milmer e o porque de sua existência), mas as pistolas zillion são deixadas meio que em segundo plano na série, pois o foco principal é a aventura, o que realmente foi uma jogada de gênio, pois ligávamos diretamente a arma de brinquedo ao anime, sem que nem tivéssemos consciência disso, e no final da história notamos que a existência delas é fundamental para a sobrevivência de ambas as raças.

Em 1988, lançou-se uma nova aventura direta para VHS, o especial "Zillion - Burning Night", que aparentemente não tem ligação alguma com a série, afinal quem pode imaginar o chefe Gordon dono de uma boite?... Bom, mas é assim mesmo que ele começa. As zillions não existem mais, nem os Nozas, nem nada, é como se fosse uma história paralela. Estranho né??

Pode parecer estranho eu não comentar mais a fundo sobre os "caracteres e design", mas eles estão o mais próximo do perfeito e com uma qualidade bem acima do que se pode esperar para um anime daquela época de produção, ou seja, mais de 15 anos atrás.
Para encerrar, devido a muitos problemas ocorridos entre a SEGA e a Tatsunoko (por causa de direitos autorais) a produção foi encerrada com pouco mais da metade da série produzida (31 dos 50 episódios previstos). Zillion é uma série muito além das outras existentes no mercado, até os dias de hoje. Não sei se algum dia voltaremos a ver personagens tão originais e carismáticos outra vez. O que realmente é uma pena.

PS: o site de reviews de anime "Animehaus", o qual tenho o prazer de fazer parte, adota critério de notas através de porcentagem de aprovação de diversos fatores, por isso a explicação a seguir.

OBS.: Antes que algum zillion-maníaco me mande envelopes com antraz... vou justificar esta nota....Sou fã de Zillion, sem dúvida!! Se dependesse de mim ele não teria uma nota ou então teria uma nota muito alta, o que seria injusto, dado aos ótimos lançamentos atuais. Seu pioneirismo no mundo dos animes, sua história original, seu nascimento completamente além do normal e outros dados interessantes como o lançamento em mangá que ocorreu só depois do anime (típica jogada comercial), faz com que Zillion mereça uma nota alta. Masss .... não há como negar que a história corrida, os exageros nas cenas de ação, a centralização da história em um único personagem e o final "à la viagem na maionese" tiram um pouco dos créditos do anime... que os outros fãs me perdoem, mas tiram, sim, e isto fez com que eu pensasse muito na nota que daria a Zillion.

Tudo isso e mais algumas opiniões fizeram com que eu desse a Zillion uma nota que acho muito boa, digna e justa.
