Boisterous 1980's anime punks kicking the ass of aliens and other pests while laughing and joking around. Dirty Pair fans who understand the superiority of 80's waifus will feel right at home with Apple.

Both shows center around a group of three individuals (two male, one female) who are members of a secret, powerful team that go up against an underground organization that aims to take over. The three members in both shows also wear color-coded outfits to make them stand out from one another, and both teams use legendary weapons against their foes. One of the members of each team is also a hot-headed guy who often says "teyandee!" The shows differ in that one is a comedy featuring anthropomorphic robot cats, and the other is more action-oriented and features humans, but there's too many similarities here to ignore.

The main characters that form the trio of these two anime are in the same types (main guy who's wild and rides a bike, blond cool guy and tough girl but with a feminine charm). The monster-of-the-week formula defines the structure of the shows, while in Borgman our characters fight yoma with the help of mecha armors and guns, in Zillion they fight invading aliens with advanced tech and the usual laser guns. Similar art style with background music that'll remind the viewer he's in the 80s listening to city pop and J-Rock.

Tekkaman Blade use same plot as Zillion, aliens invade the human's home planet to breed. Most of the characters are identical but are little more childish in Zillion. I think Tekkaman Blade is better because it's newer and have little more mature content than Zillion.
