I've watched this story many times, both in English and Japanese. I'm fluent in both. The story still ends too abruptly and has lots of unanswered questions.

Why did the boy, Rin, need the password, and why is the Tokyo Tower involved? Why was Shion's life as a child in an orphanage shown, and why was his life with Lazlo and Kyaa significant and important? Why did the story just end with when Lazlo and Kyaa died? Why did Rin want someone else to be Shion and didn't claim himself to be Shion?

There are too many unanswered questions, and the story just ends very abruptly without any explanations.

Anyone care to comment or give answers?

Wha? No comments? WTF! :P Anyway truly an inspirational person, having founded one of the biggest anime companies in Japan. Simply brilliant.
